Percy having sympathy for Henry's design problems because he himself is a one-of-kind industrial caterpillar-- that's not only wholesome, it's a great way to add to the original story and characters.

I can’t believe the entire movie is just orchestrated so damn correctly! An organic flashback scene with good edited images, and Topham actually checks the blueprints to see if he was wrong or not, and Percy was actually smart enough to solve Henry’s problem. Plus, I love the fact that Thomas is just casually flabbergasted at the end after that odd encounter with Henry.

This is my favorite one yet. Henry's arc resonates with me on a personal level because I have a disability, too: ADHD. Specifically with the dialogue from James and Thomas, it brought back so many frustrating memories of people telling me "Just pay attention!" "You're not trying hard enough!" "You're being lazy!" When none of it was true or an actual solution. Back then, I had no idea what was wrong with me or why, and I really did believe for a long time that I was just broken and wrong. But when I finally found my Welsh Coal, things finally started to make sense. And I felt SO MUCH BETTER. You learn such a special lesson from Henry's story: You're not wrong. Just built different. I mean this in the most sincere way possible: These *never ever* last long enough.

I'm Asperger's, and yeah, I can attest to that. I wasn't necessarily pestered by my teachers and parents, but for a long time, we weren't sure how to get me invested in education and work. Where Awdry had a behind-the-scenes reworking of Henry's basis from incorrect illustrations, Trampy recontextualized it into something so simple, yet capable of speaking to the cognitively limited on so many levels. Nobody exists the way they are on purpose, but that doesn't mean they're mistakes.

I'm so happy for both Henry and Percy. Percy's such a sweetheart, he holds no grudges against no one. Not the fellow engines on his old railway, who literally forced him to sleep outside. No, Percy remembered the problems they had, and applied that experience to a new situation to help somebody else. And not Henry, who tried to bully him the literal first time they met, who threatened to throw him over a cliff, who REFUSED TO HELP HIM WHEN HE WAS A RUNAWAY, who's just an all around jerk the moment he arrived on the island. No, Percy actually took the trouble to piece together what's wrong with Henry, persuaded the boss to use special measures to help Henry, and went all the distance to fetch that Welsh Coal, all just for Henry to get a fair chance. He's such a dear, I don't know many people that would go to such length to support somebody who's just been pure nasty to them, I know I certainly can't do that. The little green caterpillar with red stripes, though not nearly as sage or wise as Old Reliable Edward, and though only in his third appearance in the series, is turning out to be a role model for all of us. (I'm going off on a tangent here, but this is especially pronounced when we compare Percy with Thomas, the other tank engine. Thomas rambled in annoyance non-stop when Henry was late for **22** minutes about how much Henry sucks and was delaying his work, but was struck so dumb when Henry was early he could utter nothing but an "OK...". Thomas, at this stage of his life at least, knows nothing about complementing others, only about being an cheeky dickhead, with the only possible exception of when he was interacting with Edward. Thomas isn't a bad sort by any means, but it's clear he's still got a long way to mature, hope the influence of Toby, and maybe Percy, on his line later on, will rub off more positively on him.) And speaking of complementing others, we see a really redemptive side of Henry here too. I saw some people on Twitter saying Henry's been pretty dislikable throughout this series up to this point, and I had to agree. He's an absolute prick on par with Gordon prior to the strike, and after the strike saga, Henry looked like he was making a turn for the worse, for while Gordon and James both learned some sense from that event, Gordon especially because he took a liking to Percy, Henry went the opposite way because he took an active dislike to the little new green guy, making death threats against him and openly laughing while he was in distress, as mentioned above. But in today's instalment, we find Henry has some shining parts of his character too just like everyone else. He's got a true sense of responsibility, he would struggle out of the shed to work even if he's very late, even fetching his own coaches I might add, don't think Gordon has that kind of work ethic. And he has some true kindness within him, he showed genuine gratitude to Percy when the new guy took the trouble to figure out what's wrong him. Incredibly heartwarming, seeing this rude and irritable big green engine soften up and simply being happy for what I think is the first time. Oh my god, this is turning into an essay hahaha. If there's one thing you're truly superb at doing, my dear Trampy, it's the characterisation of these engines that we're so familiar with this. You took what's already established about them, and brought to a whole new level where each and every one of them shines like gold.

That's a neat idea. Maybe Gordon gets jealous of Henry's new capabilities. Maybe as more of Henry's backstory comes out to the others, like the part where he was designed by Nigel Gresley, Gordon may feel threatened. Maybe Henry becomes such an excelent performer Gordon feels challenged. Seeing how the effects of Welsh coal benefitted Henry, Gordon steals some and we have the story. Again, neat idea!

This was a great installment in the series, I like the fact we got an actual backstory for Henry, and we got something we don’t see often here, a flashback, it also reveals something else about Henry’s psyche, he puts on a big tough exterior, but really, he is just insecure and is scared what others think of him, and he puts on the grumpy engine persona so he can hide his true feelings. The bit at the station where Thomas was mad at Henry for being late 22 MINUTES, was handled great, and whenever he’s talking to himself about something serious, he always changes up around Sir Topham Hatt, it might be because he thinks that he’ll send him away for something like that. And of course, Percy comes to save the day again, and that was actually better that he suggested Welsh coal instead of Henry’s driver, because now, that gives Percy an opportunity to become friends with Henry, and when he felt better almost instantly, he decided that Percy was alright. I also liked the bits of James passing Henry with the goods train and how Thomas was so confused about how Henry arrived to the station before him. I also find it so funny that Henry has been in every single Trampy Movie so far, yet he’s only had one spotlight episode before! Great Work, Trampy!

Although I was expecting the Coal along with Flying Kipper to be the next one, I’m honestly glad Flying Kipper wasn’t the focus since I now understand that it’s gonna be very later Trampy Movie which means it gives more time understanding the characters particularly Henry more. I really like the flashback opening you put on and I was honestly expecting Sir Topham Hat to saying those “words” when he got Henry but surprisingly no, although it would be funny to see, it’s understandable why because of how Sir Topham Hatt is basically the father figure to the engines and he can not say those words about his engines because they are basically his “children” after all and it how’s how much he cares for them and even tries to give them a chance. I also like how it perfectly establishes Henry a character, although we seen Henry in previous movies, this is basically his “proper” introduction, we get to know more about him and how his sickness effected him for who he is, for why he is a grumpy a**hole, like the only time Henry showed his likability was in “Rescue” which was the fourth Trampy Movie but at most times his a jerk to others especially with Percy, but here we get to see Henry’s struggles with his sickness which makes him sympathetic towards to. He’s been dealing with this for so long now (it was first established in “Coaches” where we see Henry getting sick) and it’s getting worse and worse it is just a matter of time what will happened to Henry. Which is where Percy’s character absolutely shines here :D I absolutely LOVED how Percy was handled here, I was honestly surprised it was Percy of all characters to tell Henry and STH about Welsh coal, which shows that although Percy may be cheeky and innocent, we learn that Percy can SMART just never given the chance to the opportunity and I love how he uses his past as a helping tool instead of something to dread on despite the treatment he got there. It also boosts up the relationship between Percy and Henry where at first Henry hated him but now he starts to like him because how how he helped him and how Percy was the first engine to actually wanted to give him a chance and Henry soon realizes this. Overall another great movie, all of the characters where very likable and perfectly sets up both Henry’s character and expands of Percy and STH more. ^^

Especially with how you evinced his emotion through your tone of voice. It was also nice seeing Percy and Henry's dynamic being built up on more in a positive light after Percy's little stunt prior in Movie 11. It was extremely clever as using Percy to tell Henry about this because while he may be a bit naive and ditty, he did it for the better for Henry. It also seemed as if at the beginning he was most concerned for Henry also. You just keep topping yourself man! Great work.

That's why it's satisfying to see Henry triumph over his weaknesses, with a little help from Percy, of course. I loved having Percy be the one to figure out what's wrong with Henry and come up with a solution. It was so wholesome- especially his quote on how Henry's "not a mistake but built different." Despite the past teasing and steaming, Percy still helps out Henry, and the big green whale actually appreciates it! Thats another great example of character development! My favorite part has to be the conversation between Henry and the Fat Controller. In the original, the Fat Controller said that hes gonna get another engine instead of Henry, implying he would've gotten rid of Henry. In here, Topham's meaning of what he said is elaborated on, and that automatically helps make this version better than the original! I love this video. That intro sequence of Henry's first day on Sodor was SO cool, with actual mentions of Henry's real building and squandering. Shame we didn't hear Topham swearing. 🤣And then the story starts off with the classic Henry & James banter. Their rivalry is something I really enjoy in your movies, and especially this one where you threw in Percy. And this time, James actually gets the upper hand. Then Thomas ranting to Annie & Clarabel is just so sweet. Just shows how much those three are a family by this point. And him shouting at Henry was SO fun to listen to. Henry got pretty sympathetic too. Finally we're starting to feel sorry for him. And it got sad hearing him say he was a failure. But we all know Sir Topham Hatt would NEVER send one of his engines away. And with Percy's idea, Henry gets well and gains respect for him. At long last. What a wonderful movie. Each one never fails to amaze me.

First of all, I love the fact that Percy came up with the idea, it feels like a clever idea that even Awdry should’ve considered since Percy had little to no background for some reason (really wish he actually gave better backstories) Second, the character development felt on point as well, everyone actually had their perspective shift once Edward told them about Henry and I love that Thirdly, I just love the fact that Henry is now officially the earliest instance of the phrase ‘built different’

A superb new take on Henry's story arc. There's a couple technical nitpicks here and there; it's not really that Henry was getting stuffed up from too much coal, it's that his firebox was too small and narrow to draft properly and generate enough heat. The Welsh coal also doesn't burn faster, quite the opposite actually; it burns hotter for longer because it's almost pure carbon with practically no impurities to leave behind as ash. I also appreciate giving the role of problem solver to Percy, both to wrap up his antagonism with Henry and because there's a historical precedent behind it; Percy's based on an Avonside industrial engine that worked alongside the Great Western Railway. One of the GWR's more infamous designs were the Manor Class light express engines, very similar to Henry. They were built to take express trains from London over the weaker bridges of South Wales, but initially they suffered from horrible steaming problems. The issue was the drafting: the blastpipe nozzle that aims exhaust steam up and out the chimney was just half an inch too narrow, so that it led to back pressure in the cylinders and didn't create a strong enough draft through the fire with each puff. Once the blastpipe was widened, like magic the Manors went from poor steaming slugs to pint sized beasts, able to hold their own with even the giant Castles and Kings.

I was going to wait until a few more episodes came out but having just watched this, I have to give you another bit of applause. Like a standing ovation. First of all, your voice work is brilliant. Every moment that needs be heartfelt, all the emotion, Henry's frustration and Percy's excitable demeanor came together brilliantly. If I close my eyes, I would admit that it sounded much like a child helping his stubborn and prickly big brother. Even the way Henry thanks Percy comes off as sibling like. No apologies but a softer and kinder side being given. And to be honest, and maybe this is my mind being a bit dark, Henry really did sound like he was at the end of his rope. It was a hint of self-loathing when he was talking to the fat controller. It almost sounded like he was ready to be sent away to die. I say die because... Well, Percy said it himself: An engine who had Henry's exact problem was about to get the cutter's torch. Which honestly doesn't sound like Henry would've had a chance had he been sent anywhere else. Again, maybe that's just my dark thoughts but the quality of the voice acting really does sell how much Henry just was miserable. Secondly, Henry not telling anyone about his flaws is kind of in character for him. In fact it makes a lot of sense why he's always prickly and ready to snap at others. It's a defense mechanism because he knows at least at the time, he wasn't good enough. Hell, he couldn't even keep up with Thomas's level. Finally, Percy being the one to provide the solution is so nice because it resolves the tension from when they met. It goes to show he is not just naïve but very kind, and smarter than people give him credit for. Just a really feel good episode, Trampy. Looking forward to the next one. You're a great writer!

OH…MY…GOD! The writing in this episode was extraordinary! This is honestly the best one you’ve ever written Trampy. I loved how the episode started off with a flashback of when Henry first arrived and Sir Topham Hatt questioning why he is a different build than the one he ordered. I also loved how Edward talked about how Henry is a flawed design, I already knew that because of the classics series but how u wrote it made it seem so dramatic. I also felt so bad for Henry when he said “I’m a mistake”, and when Sir Topham Hatt was considering getting another engine to do his work, I felt sympathy for him. But in the end Henry got a happy ending and I can’t wait for your adaptation of The Flying Kipper. Also how Thomas was written in this episode was amazing. How sarcastic he is to Henry literally is one of the reasons he is one of my favourite characters. 10/10 episode Trampy. Keep up the amazing work.

Honestly makes more sense. If your fireman knew the best way to help his engine function and he didn't say anything until the last minute that's kind of dumb. But by Percy being the one to mention it after seeing it on his Old Railway, that's clever

After a number of episodes showing Henry at his worst, it's nice to get a story where we learn more about why he acts the way he does, and to include the _IoS_ details in such a natural way that Henry feels like he is nothing but a mistake is a great avenue to explore that. Seeing how his demeanor changes and how the other engines treat him as a result of learning more about him is very interesting to see. Love how he actually becomes more confident as a result of the coal, can't wait to see how that aspect of him evolves in future stories. Not to mention having Percy's kindheartedness shine through to help Henry despite how poorly the big engine treated him before, shows off just how well he fits into the Sodor crew and the unique talent he brings to it. Also bonus points for finding a way to make a _Thomas_ character saying "He's just built different" feel natural.

Dude...... That genuinely hit HARD when he said that he was a mistake. That one was a bitter one to hear in that specific context. Henry is Not a mistake. Period. I felt that to my core. And have felt as Henry did before in my life at times. One can get it totally. The flashbacks though.... SO Well Done. The reactions to Edward telling them about Henry's Arrival..... Gordon's realization in form of that softly spoken, .."Hmmm" The Realization that Henry is actually Sir Nigel's lost design. To Engines like Gordon and Scot , the full-on corporate/industrial espionage manner of the "Stolen Design" Scandal was probably a BIG deal at the time ,considering that Sir Nigel built Them, Too. They would surely have heard rumors at least ,of a stolen set of L.N.E.R based plans and an engine being built. Gordon realizes it and now knows that Henry Is not only Sir Nigel's lost Design but ,he now sees that Henry is essentially a legitimate Cousin to He and Scot. Percy helping out in this and making the suggestion of the Welsh Coal makes absolutely perfect sense, because , Henry is to Percy, What Gordon is To Thomas. They've always had the " Bigger"/Younger sibling type dynamic. In closing ,T.. This one was out the park and it got SENT TO the Freakin ' MOON 🌙 Keep SLAYING it and Much Respect!

Henry is indeed quite literally built different. -The flashback sequence is a perfect introduction to this one. Thomas's the cheeky one, Edward's the kind one, and Henry's the awkward one. -James and Henry's argument gives some insight onto Henry's coal dilemma, where Henry apparently uses more coal than the others, which I really like. -The engines starting to sympathize for Henry once Edward explains about his flawed design is kinda heart-warming, especially with James since he genuinely thought Henry was just being lazy. It shows that despite their arguments and scrapes with each other, they do end up caring for one another in the end. -"It's Good To Be Gordon"? Did not expect that one but I approve. -A retelling of "Thomas and the Guard" is seen, and I like how Annie and Clarabel are more talkative here. Honestly was expecting Thomas to lose the guard, but it's fair not to include that since this is about Henry. -Oh yeah, Thomas is still being a little bitch and I love it. -Henry calls Thomas a fish tank. ...I don't think I need to explain the foreshadowing part of that. That was beautiful. -Percy's the one who suggests the Well...uh, WELSH Coal to fix Henry, and it actually makes Henry appreciate Percy. Nice little character moment. Seems Henry's fine with Percy now! Overall, great movie once again! I heard you're going out of town tomorrow. Do use that time to take a nice break if ya need it. You're too good to us!

Yet another brilliant Trampy movie! I loved how there was a flashback sequence at the beginning showing Henry's origin story from The Railway Series, and how initially Sir Topham Hatt wanted an Atlantic. That was really awesome to see! And then the tone when Edward tells the other engines that Henry might be a flawed design changes to really serious, and I liked that flashback of Henry pulling a goods train from It's Good to be Gordon. Now, there is a small bit of a continuity error as that image isn't photoshopped and Henry is seen in his NEW shape instead of his OLD one, but honestly, that's just a small, tiny nitpick because everything still works really well as it did. I love how instead of Henry's crew figuring out the problem with Henry, it's PERCY who comes to Henry's rescue and suggests the Welsh coal for him. The ending was also particularly funny, and I LOVE how Henry threw what Thomas said from the Thomas and the Guard segment (brilliant job incorporating that in by the way) right back at him, and instead of being impressed at the end of the episode as in the original, Thomas is just absolutely speechless and doesn't have ANYTHING to say, and it's Annie and Clarabel who are impressed instead. That was definitely a really nice way to end this, and you have done it again with creating another great Trampy movie! I can't wait to see how you're going to tackle The Flying Kipper!

Great episode, Trampy! I absolutely love the backstory and lore building present here. I love how you managed to integrate Henry's "deep lore" organically, rather than having it explained through something like the IOS Book. Percy's dynamic with Henry is great, and I love how these last few episodes have had Percy interact with multiple characters. Henry viewing himself as a mistake is a great emotional element. And the dialogue with Henry and Thomas is perfectly hilarious. Also, 6:55

Damn, your as early to post this as Henry was to arrive at Elsbridge, and yet with another banger of an episode! Really enjoyed seeing the flashbacks of Henry’s arrival on the railway, really interesting take on it, liked how you tied the events of “Thomas and the Guard” in this too. It’s the first time since the “Strike” arc and his own while being bricked up in the tunnel that I feel sympathetic about Henry, other times he’s usually a jerk or just sulky, but here you made me feel bad about Henry’s condition and his depressive moments; but I kid you not, I nearly teared up when Topham said that he didn’t send Henry away because he was his engine, shows how Hatt runs a business but with a heart of gold, and seeing Percy willingly figuring out how to help Henry and doing so with Topham, thanks to what was told by Edward, and that’s despite the latter not helping him while being a runaway, truly heartwarming to see the “little green caterpillar” earning Henry’s respect (and we got to see more lore on Percy as well, yay!). And Henry’s triumph upon using Welsh coal is quite wholesome, and his rivalry with James and Thomas is quite a fun watch as well (I swear I burst out laughing when Topham gave James a “special goods” to take), I just hope he manages to find peace with each of these two, specially considering the latter two have both had a humbling arc previously, but that’s up to you to decide on the next chapters of the Trampy Movies. Like always, huge props to all your writing, acting, editing and everything else, your videos are greatly entertaining to me and many others, hope to continue seeing more from you, and remember to take your time as much as needed. PS: I think Henry might get a biiiiit hurt in the next video.

Felt bad for Henry in this one. Henry is a favorite of mine, especially in these Trampy Movies. I love how easily he’s annoyed by something, how grumpy he is, and how mean he can be sometimes. Henry seems very defensive about his sickness this time and it’s overall very depressing to watch him stumble through work and beg The fat controller to not send him away or reduce his job to something smaller. Percy was also very sweet in this one, unlike James and Thomas who were calling him fat. I understand where they’re coming from but Henry was already in a bad mood and they only made it worse lol. Edit: And I just realized that James always seems upset when Henry is sick lol.

Since Percy told Henry and the fat controller he knew about Henry’s flawed design, I’m curious about the implications this will have with Percy’s relationship with Edward.

This is my new favorite "Trampy Movie". I love the script, the voices you've put on these characters and the interactions. Everything and every moment in this episode is fantastic, even the flashbacks. Fantastic job, Trampy! I can't wait to see more of your content in the future.

Something I would love to see is stuff that happens behind what the main point is, Example: The engines in the shed talking about henry between the part with Thomas and Henry and Thomas and Percy, Seeing how Percy came up with it while the engines are talking.
