Same! As far is I'm concerned, Henry is pretty much the only one with common sense. Despite still being a cynical sod you can tell being shut up in a tunnel for two weeks has affected him. And you can tell how guilty James feels considering he recently just impressed Sir Topham Hatt by pulling the Express, feeling like he is now betrayed him after being forced to go on strike with Gordon and Henry. You can tell he is the one that is gonna regret it the most when they're being shut up.

The voice acting with Edward is amazing. Like this is he first time he actually sounds truly upset with Gordon, Henry, and James. Like he sounds like a father who is totally disappointed with his sons. To be honest, that ultimatum Edward gave actually sounded more threatening than Hatt did.

Putting this here too: Let me be honest. I love your reinterpretation of the Railway Series and Thomas and friends in general. First, it's so much more mature. I'd go so far as even say adult. Not in the adult way a lot of shows nowadays try to be. Not by throwing a swear or curse in every sentence but by actually being adult. Which leads into the characters. They all feel real yet true to their characters. Thomas is immature, frustrated, and impatient but instead of it coming from him being a 'cheeky' engine, it all comes from a sense of not being appreciated. Hell, you can't even blame him. Even in his introduction the other engine's seem more annoyed by his very existence than anything. Edward is the only one who treats them with any semblance of understanding and respect. Speaking of, Edward being old in the stories translates into a character who is understanding of everyone and their character traits and flaws. He comes off as more of a father figure than even Sir Toppham Hat/The Fat Controller. It's clear his experience has taught him life lessons which he carries through to the present. He's more of a guiding hand to everyone and he does it because he knows it's the right thing to do. As pointed out in the very first episode, it doesn't matter if he's not thanked, just that he did it. The conversation between him and Thomas about Gordon in 'Tricked' is without a doubt one of the most heartfelt conversations not only in this series but in any piece of media I've watched lately. Then there's Gordon himself. Strong, powerful, and, fast. Arrogant, lazy, patronizing. By all accounts, I should hate this version of Gordon. I've hated characters in all the forms of stories for less. But the Big Blue engine is written and acted so well you can't help but like him even if you don't like his actions. Plus he constantly pays for his arrogance. Sure, that was a key point theme in the original stories but things like his safety valve breaking being actively his fault is a bit of narrative brilliance. Speaking of narrative brilliance, James being a nervous, insecure guy with something to prove is something I have to applaud. He's enthusiastic like Thomas, a braggart like Gordon, and is the third smallest tender engine of all of them. He lets the little mistakes get under his skin as it were leading to making bigger ones. I also love how he's pretty much excluded amongst the other engines. Like it's clear he's really the odd one out. Henry talks over him. Gordon calls him little James, which must sting since he is strong enough to pull the express. And ironically enough, he is the least experienced tender engine on the yard. His naïveté shows when he takes Gordon on his word for a lot which leads to interesting moments when Henry corrects him. In contrast with Thomas who isn't appreciated, James certainly doesn't feel respected. He's mocked constantly and wants to take every opportunity to prove himself and show off. Him essentially getting bullied into joining the strike after just managing to pull the express kind of shows how he's just not taken seriously. Also him saying 'I hope you crash and die, you sick cow' to Henry I think is going to be a very interesting character interaction once we get into a certain episode that I am personally looking forward to. Speaking of... I just love how you made Henry not give a crap. Like he calls out everyone on their nonsense and is just absolutely brutal. He calls it as he sees it which I think is kind of fitting to his character because he has to deal with reality. The reality of him not being a very good steam engine is pretty clear from episode one when his mishaps are brought up. You've been building up his sickness for a while and is a good bit of writing. It's clear Henry cannot afford to have any sense of delusional grandeur, or be able to sit up on any kind of arrogance beyond his strength which he can't really use. Honestly he seems kind like the guy who knows he's running on borrowed time and just takes the moments as they come. Even if it leads to some poor decision-making. I really don't have much more to say about him though, not until we have a few more episodes at least. Finally, I love what you did with the troublesome trucks. They come off as less malicious in this version. Only acting out when someone out and out abuses them such as Thomas and James up to this point. Gordon's the only one who has been able to bump them around and not get bumped back. I just love this whole series and I hope you know how much this reignited a love for Thomas the tank engine for me. Wishing you well in this.

Gordon, James, and Henry are literally Moe, Larry, and Curly from The Three Stooges and I love it. I also love the cold opening, poor George and Charlie having to deal with Gordon's crap. The part where Edward sees that Thomas has returned and they catch each other up on what's been happening was so wholesome. Also, the 20 minute runtime, at this rate the movie of "Paint Pots and Queens" is gonna be an hour. Again, these get better with every installment. Keep it up, Kyle, but like Topham said, "Let's not overwork ourselves."

What I love here is how Edward's "black wheeling" is depicted compared to the original story. In the original Edward agreeing to shunt the coaches broke the strike but the poor treatment of him was what spurred Percy's purchase. He's still working among the strike here but he had much more of an active role in the story, showing off just how ridiculous the reason for their strike really is, because like he says, "Gordon we were built to work." It's only further shown off after Edward leaves to get Topham and it's revealed Gordon never had a plan of any sort, and how disastrous it goes when his hypocrisy after speaking with Topham shows Henry and James how stupid this idea really was. Edward wants them to be better and is willing to give them a chance but he also knows that that sometimes harsh consequences are needed for them to learn a lesson. But it all comes to a head beautifully because Edward and Thomas are then called to take over the work while the big engines are shut up, but Topham knows that them alone won't be able to cover all of it, especially since Thomas now runs a branch line. And THIS, this is why he gets Percy, to manage the Ffarquhar branch, and show that the railway can get along just fine without them. Topham takes into account how Edward was treated by the big engines like in the original story, but now it's through acknowledgement of how he shouldn't be overworked just because they made it difficult for him, and does his best to ease the pressure a bit. It shows how Topham rewards dedication and hard work by showcasing how he appreciates the engines who do that work and he will help them any way he can, which Gordon is still blind to. Also I do think James' stint on the turntable could've been included, maybe with Henry trying to show them up and using the turntable perfectly before derailing when he tries to get off too quickly. Their frustrations could've been used to make it easier for Gordon to manipulate them into joining his strike. However I can see why it and Henry and the Elephant were cut, and who knows, maybe it'll follow _T&F_ and be involved in a story further down the line.

One of my favourite things about your movies is Gordon. You really managed to make him disgustingly manipulative to the other engines. This ironically makes him look powerful compared to the other engines, which is what he self-stands for. We first had him trying to make Edward doubtful of himself in the first movie, then we have him calling the engines little during the movies, as if seeming like someone caring but also like sweettalking as well, then him trying to gaslight Thomas into believing he actually didn't know that Thomas was coupled behind his train in "Tricked", and now the strike, where he coerces James and Henry into participating in the strike, and you can even see the manipulation he's doing when James and Henry are doubting this to be a good idea, and genuinely starting to believe Edward, before Gordon makes them go to his side again with reasons that may seem right when you look through James and Henry's POV, but when you look at it from your own POV, you know it's just nonsensical reasoning. I shouldn't be loving this version of Gordon, but I am.

I genuinely love how this follows the Railway Series timeline but, aside from the swearing, has an Adventure Begins vibe. Not only that, but James more or less being pressured into the strike is better than the "James redeems himself but is now a dick" approach that Awdry had. James has spent all of his time trying to be like the big engines. A bit like the kid who hangs with bullies to look cool, but their peers know they're a poser and pick on them just as much as their target. James is a deeply insecure engine and has only just proven himself to the Fat Controller. Even the buildup to the strike in the previous videos. You took Brenner's decision to have Gordon object to Thomas getting a branch line, and the Fat Controller saying he's getting another engine, and expanded on it so much. Henry and Gordon complaining about shunting their own trains, James admitting that he hates it too after reconciling with Gordon. Even the Fat Controller being pestered for a new engine. It was always implied that Percy only joined the railway as a result of the strike, but considering how much of a bastard Gordon is here, the Fat Controller won't give him the satisfaction of thinking he got his way. Love this!

This was by far the best Trampy Movie you made. The beginning was the funniest way to open the episode with and having Henry and James not fully on board to go on strike makes sense since they both caused trouble in past episodes and had chances to redeem themselves to Sir Topham Hatt. It was really funny that they got so pissed at Gordon that the strike failed. Also seeing Thomas again in this movie was amazing and his reunion with Edward was wholesome. ok this is without a doubt my favorite trampy movie. the humor, writing, and relationship with the characters is honestly quite nice this movie is probably the funniest one out of all. gordon, james, and henry arguing at the sheds about the strike and them even knowing that the whole idea of the strike was bad in concept was perfect I really liked how you handle james to be at first hesitant abt the strike and even knowing they were gonna lose their own jobs, obv they aren’t but it’s actually kinda nice to see james and henry, morseo james, be the smart and logical one to point out the flaws in the strike. it’s actually a nice character development for him. amazing job on this movie

I love how you're already sewing the seeds for Thomas's eventual race and with Bertie, with the detail of Thomas being 16 minutes early. That, and his attitude towards Annie and Clarabelle, really implies a lot about he operates and feels about his branch line. 👌 Anyway, that foreshadowing is worth a chef's kiss. haha

It’s…interesting, because honestly Gordon makes a good point. It is substantially harder for large tender engines to shunt their own trains. Their visibility is much worse than a tank engine, their wheel diameter limits their torque and acceleration relative to a tank engine, and even their controls require much more movement to accomplish the same task (screw reverser vs lever reverse: the screw needs to be turned a ton to go in reverse, but the lever only has to be pulled). By all accounts, the task will be inherently more difficult for them, and it being additional work, it only makes sense for them to feel overworked. Of course, Edward is right: they are built to work, but Gordon is also right in that not all work works out the same for all engines, and machines are purpose-built for a reason. There’s s good point in what Gordon is saying, but he’s so insufferable and elitist about it (in the most entertaining of ways) that no one wants to concede it. I love that Henry kinda hints at this though, mentioning the constant back-and-forth with no rest, but Gordon’s bluster again overpowers the actually valid point in front of both Edward and STH. It’s a take on the strike that feels more…purposeful, in terms of Gordon’s character development, rather than a critique of striking labor of the 1930s, as awdry did. But, ya know, applying real-world stuff to Thompson and his technicolor choo-choo associates isn’t necessary (but it can be fun)

You know what? I'm gonna list some things about this movie that I particularly like: -Thomas, when asked to run the main line, specifically thinks about Gordon and doesn't think about James and Henry, as if to imply he's got a bit of a rivalry with/grudge against Gordon. -STH specifically says to Percy that he wants an engine who "never gives up", possibly foreshadowing the events of Percy's Promise. -James and Henry are reluctant to strike, since they've already been put into trouble and have redeemed themselves to STH, with the particular turntable and elephant incidents omitted. -Thomas is complained to about being early and going too fast, which possibly foreshadows both Thomas & Bertie, and Thomas and the Guard. -Thomas, in response to the complaints, compares himself to Henry, which alludes to Henry being late at stations due to his sickness. -Edward and Thomas meeting again is just like old friends who haven't seen each other in a long time, which....yeah, that's what's going on here.

He never complains about jobs giving to him, his wisdom is something the other engines look up to, and he even stood his ground against the three big engines (even bold when he gave Gordon a choice). Another would be even if there were less trains people tend to forget that Edward is a 4-4-0, he's been an express engine in his early career so he along with Thomas will handle the mainline nicely. What do you guys think? Good video.

You know, up until recently, I kinda thought that the first episode, Edward, was kinda... disconnected? Don't get me wrong, it was good, but it took me a while to get its importance in relation to the rest of the series. Edward (the episode) established that Edward had been in relative disue for a while - long enough to even begin doubting his own capabilities. It's an experience that none of the other engines had (save for Henry, though his state of disuse was short and his OWN fault, not a result of changing times). I think this is why Edward never complains and is always encouraging others towards the same - he took that past experience to heart, and no matter how difficult or even menial the present tasks may be, he still chooses to be grateful to have any task at all. Not sure how far into the original series you intend on going, but if you ever get around to Edward's Exploit, I could die happy.

I absolutely love this movie everything about it is perfect, I really like the opening a lot as well as the crews and workers having names instead of “the driver or firemen” or “the workmen”. I do really feel bad for James, he was basically being gaslighted by Gordon into doing this without his saying and just when he gained the big man’s respect too. While Gordon does have his moments of kindness he can also be very manipulative giving the situation. It was also nice to see Thomas and Edward reunite as well as the scene where topham purchasing another engine which totally looks like it was pulled from the unlucky tug’s Percy analysts video (witch is a good thing by the way), and how Percys owner just left him here with no explanation as to where or what place he was built is a nice touch as well as Percy saying that his previous controller couldn’t have Percy on his railway because there were too many engines and Percy’s just ok with everything and him being called #6, forgot to add that but I think it is very interesting and does explain how he came to Sodor already with a #6 Also I don’t know if it’s just me but I think Thomas going down the branch really fast might be foreshadowing Thomas and Bertie’s race Your videos just keep getting better and better. Everything with the strike is amazing. The dynamic between Gordon, and Henry and James is great. I like how Gordon manipulates them, and how they try to poke holes in his plan. Their hesitation makes sense considering Henry's tunnel incident and James's arc. Thomas's reasoning for coming back is great, and the Thomas-Edward dynamic continues to be excellent. I loved Percy's introduction and how it throughs in some "Deep Lore." However, I am a little disappointed that Herny and James didn't get their "final straw," considered the hilarious dialogue you could have written for those scenes. Liked to see Thomas coming back to the spotlight, seems he’s taking his work at his branch line pretty seriously, wonder if this will be explored on the future as well as his coaches not really enjoying that, and his dislike with Gordon only continues, since he did come back partly to pull the Express while Gordon is doing nothing, and seeing Edward going on a full rant about the big engines and damn near knocking them back to their senses, but Gordon’s stubbornness was still just too much. And I’m glad we’ve already been introduced to Percy, interesting take and backstory for him, hope we learn more about it. I always loved it when Gordon learns something in each short episode. This made it better, we see how Gordon ends up in these situations, and he really does need to learn a lot because of his huge ego (at least, at this period).

I dig this fresh retelling of these older stories, your characterizations work very well! I think I love just about every character here, but there's just something about James' characterization that I feel is an improvement over how Awdry wrote him in a majority of the original stories, I'm wondering if that means some stories will end up going differently than others... Old Iron and Double Header in particular, but I'll just have to be patient. Not that I mind, the fact that you can put these out consistently is more than enough, I feel.

Best Episode Ever! Definitely on 4 in favourite TM list! 1. Rain 2. Tricked 3. Runaway 4. Strike I completely understand why you're didn't include Henry's encounter with the Circus elephant and James spinning around like a top in the turntable in terms of relevance to the story. I really love your take on James. I really feel bad for him, having to cave to peer pressure due to Gordon's manipulation. And as always I love Edward being the Voice of Reason. I'm surprised you didn't include Thomas taking the piss out of Gordon when he had to pull the next train backwards but the children and Gordon's row between George and Charlie really made up for it. 🤣 Also love Percy's introduction! They seriously need to hire you as Thomas director. Thank you for making Thomas the Tank Engine great again! 😁

I don't think the layout calls for it? it depends on the type of Sodor map Trampy's using.

Man it’s great to finally meet Percy, though honestly I feel bad for James a little bit cause he worked so hard for his chance at the Express only to be peer pressured into going on strike. I hope Sir Topham Hatt isn’t terribly harsh to him

I love the beginning with Gordon, Charlie, and George. Charlie is just fucking done with everything, same with George. I love the kids at the station, they’re funnier than the trucks. James and Henry being hesitant to join the strike is interesting, Gordon is borderline manipulative. “No turning back now” said Henry. the description is right, the big engines are fucking idiots, Gordon is the biggest idiot. I love Edward and Thomas’ friendship. Percy’s introduction gives me so much joy, I love his playful, joyful personality. I can’t wait for the next movie! May I have permission to react to this on my channel?

I really like the Strike Saga in Season 1 but to see it made into a Trampy Movie is a lost of words. Can't wait for Trampy Movie 11. Keep up the good work man!

Was showing a friend the full playlist as was very surprised that this got uploaded during us watching. Really loved the added dialogue of the three big engines discussing and the way Gordan influences Henry and James. I do really look forward to the next episode and the fallout of the strike. Great work as always Trampy

Something I cant get over is how very grim and pessimistic Gordon is about Edward's Future, I may need to rewatch the whole series but from what I can remember, Its Gordon that's most consistently mentioning how Edward will end up being the first to ever be scrapped just because of his age, Like especially here when he reasons that No one will get scrapped, But then makes a note to mention Edward as the only one that might be scrapped if the entire railway were to go down under, Even Henry is like "oh-" cus of how unnecessarily grim that quick remark is

A striking banger episode, but what I love is how just James is forced to join the strike instead the other way around and I wanna see how Percy's adventures will go in the future...
