CVT 🤔 Is the best car but is cvt very problem

Ok, I tell you something. There are companys like Nissan were a CVT is problematic when it comes to relablility. But even the CVTs in the Nissans do exacly what you want from them; drive comfortable. CVTs a smart thing. You stay in the best range for the fuel consuption and that's what you want in a Hybrid; the best fuel consuption. Cars like the Yaris are not made for racing there're here for driving around as comfortably as possible in this class.

@@chriskonte1909 Do you think it's comfortable when you drive on roads at a stable speed out of the city for like 2 hours ? Would this make noise all along ? (probably gonne buy this one as a first car)

  • @chriskonte1909

@@CuteLakitu Modern CVTs are not as noisy as the older ones. But it all depends on where you drive the car. Mainly city that's where CVTs are comfortable since you "don't have" gears. A torque converter or regular automatic is exellent for either a mix of city and stable roads, just stable roads and highways. Dual clutch are for sporty driving. But I gotta admit there are people that say you don't feel shifts in a modern DCT, you do. Not in every situation but there are more than enough.

@@chriskonte1909 Thank you for your answer but what I want to know is if I can go, comfortably enough, on vacations for example with this toyota yaris for more than 2 hours of driving. I still don't know if I buy this Yaris hybrid (because I will mainly drive in my city but sometimes 1 hour drive) or if I buy the Peugeot 208 eat6. What do you think?

@@CuteLakitu If I was you and had the option to testdrive both for 40+ min. I'd do it. Now I don't know your driving style. If you're heavy on the accelerator all the time or like me and usally just tip the gas. The CVT roars of course if you accelerate hard because that's the fastest way for the transmission to get you to your selected speed. If you don't mind that and a 2 hour drive for you is you drive on our highway doing 100km/h constantly that you should be good. I know you want me to focus on the transmission but were looking at 2 different subcompact car models from 2 completly different manufacturers. A Yaris Hybrid will very likely be very reliable and have the better in town experience, the 208 will be the better handling car with the better suspension system. But to come to an end CVTs are of course also useable for longer trips. Like I said try both and then decide. If you are doing that maybe you wanna remember my comment and come back when you made your descision ;)
