LazyEyeCrazyI Yep, sorry, they're simply not reliable engines. Throw a 2JZ into any vehicle and it'll get up to really high HP on STOCK and not even blow. On the other hand, you've got a naturally aspirated 12 cylinder that just fails. McLaren even went to Honda first before BMW because they knew Honda would make the better engine, but they refused. Let's not resort to ad hominems here. That kind of shit is for dumbasses and idiots.

Bach Tran Really? Weird, because BMW engines have been the most reliable engines I've ever owned, and I have owned a Honda before. But you can stay in that JDM bubble of ignorance lol. The 2JZ has to be highly modified to beat anything, buddy, and trust me, BMW engines --whether they have more HP or not-- will run to the ground. Explain your thesis to Mobil oil company too, who chose a BMW engine to run 1,000,000 miles nonstop in an experiment for 4 years with nothing but slight cam wear to show for it. McLaren chose BMW because the best Honda could do is the NSX, which was pitiful to say the least. They also chose BMW because, unlike Honda, Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, etc., BMW beat many records with the simple inline 4 S14 on the M3, which took the JDM market about 20 years to mimic and still gets beat by the ones who remain. Like the Supra and GT-R, the NSX had to be extremely modified to even see the McLaren's brake lights. I should have known you're a JDM fan. The ignorance in your response makes me yawn. I'll depart here. Enjoy your 2JZ if you have one. I don't know where you get the idea that they don't blow, because I've seen a few of them do so.

I like how the rear visibility is so much better. Wish we got this.

that side profile at 2:02. my goodness gracious, that is gorgeous. mixed feelings on the rear, but man those taillights are otherworldly. front is pretty visually stunning, but possibly a bit too much. The side profile, though, just completely roars SUPRA!! All it needs is a massive wing, haha. anyone know the track playing? i keep hitting replay just for it.

Beautiful design work

Just drove this thing around the nurburgring with racing tires on in Gran Turismo 6, 6:43!!!

As soon as this comes out, if it is pretty close to this, I will buy it. I just hope they don't 'cheapen' it, meaning stuff like the seats, the steering wheel, the HUD, all that better be in the final product. It's one of the greatest new cars I've seen in a while. Has elements of the FR-S and F1 cars most notably.

Did you end up buying a 2020.GT Supra? I didn't. I went for a Mercedes instead. But it's still on my top 5 for my next car. The production version is magnificent.

I have never owned a Toyota and never thought I would. I'm a Chevy guy all the way but if you can build this car with over 500hp and weigh less than the Gen 5 Camaro for around 60k I will have one siting in the garage beside the Vette and Camaro. Don't change a thing from to concept beside guards for the turbo's in the front of the car to keep road debris from getting into the fans. This is the only Toyota I have ever seen that I wanted.

Really nice design...

I remember seeing this when I was in High School, it got previewed at Fieldays in NZ. One of the most beautiful cars I laid my eyes upon, honestly gutted that when the Mk5 came out in 2019 and didn't look like this. The window on the bonnet that allowed people to see the heart of the machine was a spectacle to behold, the interior was so cool! Shame it didn't stay like this, but then again this happens with concept vehicles, only a select few retain the first form that was created for them.

This is what the Supra should have been. Instead we've ended up with a boring rip off of this. Just the fact that the racing concept was shown before the real car shows the lack of confidence Toyota has in the final Z4 coupe rebadged as a Supra. Such a shame, could have been something amazing :-(
