It actually looks like a supra now. Now it just needs a Toyota powertrain.

@@nicolasvillamizar1795 If I’m not mistaken the 340i had the same engine (B58) and a 6-speed manual, and the more powerful S58 also has manual option. I think BMW actually does a decent job of offering manuals in their lineup. Also Toyota also had tested one in the Supra prior to the launch of the A90. I don’t think a lack of hardware is the issue. It’s more a matter of $ and customer base.

Now it just needs a manual transmission lol

Drove a Mk IV for 15 years. First time I've seen a Mk V and thought 'yeah, I want that'...

The added detail of the circles for the taillights, really gives me a nostalgic feeling, to the mark IV. Not only that, but the redesign of the light, makes the rear more aggressive.

Absolutely incredible, hope it makes it into production!

@@toyotausa Can you please make one more video on this (a fourth episode), we would like to see in more detail how the sports top was painted, how the open/close mechanism was installed and how they fit or adapted the sensor box at the rear-view mirror. The video feels a bit rushed from the scene where you see the 3D-printed top, to ending scene with the final product, considering how much was explained in episode 1 and 2.

Yeah... they had a car with those at last year's SEMA show (google "supra heritage edition"). A few tweaks and a manual is all this car needs. If rumors are to be believed it'll get the S58/manual combo from the non-comp M3/4.

That rear diffuser makes a huge difference. Sport tops were amazing as well. 👏👏

Toyota needs to keep innovating over the 7 year contract development. I'm almost a 100% sure they'll put the targa + wing into production to maintain interest. Just like they did with the manual recently. Not sure if I'm a fan of the tail lights, but the upgraded fenders, diffuser, exhaust is incredible.

Will this ever hit production? This is absolutely incredible

Toyota doesnt want ppl blowing up the transmission thats why they didn’t include a stick shift, it needs to be able to handle the hp and torque the engine has

@@BigAltimaEnergy719 doubt its because they dont want the clutch burning out. Most car dealers making all auto because not many people will buy stickshift. So they sit in the lot longer which time is money and sitting cars cost money. Many cars with way more hp and torque stock that come stickshift. Nissan GTR makers said auto is so fast you cant shift quick enough, testing that conclusion with the fastest drivers. So dual clutch auto was the way to go for the win. Sure toyota implemented that same factor.

It's safe to say that now the current Toyota Supras lives up the it's name. Thank you Toyota USA for adding or taking way what should have been done from start, this needs to come to market as a production option for the new Toyota Supra!

Just wish the episodes were longer to show more of the work done. Either way well done to the team that did this.

Its the body panel lines (appearing thicker and more noticeable than most cars from that distance) and the perspective being higher than a standing human, coupled with a longer focal length lens for that shot.

No more wind buffeting I presume 😉. Looks amazing, well done
