TOYO RT Trail Tires in SNOW! Toyotas Snow Wheeling and Sliding Downhill

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

In this video, we go snow wheeling with the new Toyo RT Trail Tires. They perform exceptionally well off-road and on-road. We show them in use on a snow-packed hill and on the road where we got 6 inches of snow.
We are located in Denver, Colorado, so if you have questions, please call us at 3039096047.

    I was between those two and the Cooper rugged treks. Ended up going with the Coopers. The toyos still weren't available in my size and I've heard of the baja boss getting chewed up on gravel. The Coopers have been much better in the snow than the Falken MTs they replaced.

    @@kernmw10 The baja boss are the best tire I have ever used also and I have been selling tires for 35 years. I just bought a new truck and it's a dually and the only size of the baja boss in a 17 inch wheel for my dually is a little too big at 34.6 inches. These Toyo's look interesting, but I wish they had more siping. My wife is very sensitive to noise, so that is a big consideration. I have two baja boss a/t in 295/70R18 that I need to return and I might just have the Toyo R/T trail sent, too bad there are only two in inventory, but I can wait. Next fall is probably when I will put them on before hunting season, until then I will ride on the wimpy michelin a/s

    I just got a set on my 3500 truck. And I got to say they are a great tire. They track nice and handle awesome and gives you grate traction on road in rain. And on top of that, they are very quiet for being aggressive. I think they are better then the A/T’s.

    I just put a set of 285/75/18s on my f250. They come out to about 34.5 inches tall and 11 inches wide. I have only had them on the highway for about 100 miles in the rain and they seem decent so far. According to your post, you haven't had yours for very long but what are your thoughts so far

    @@simonsays5979 I have about 1200 miles on them and I love them. Very good in rain, mud and soft soil and dirt. I think they handle very good on road and off road. I personally think they are better then A/T tires. And my experience with mine are at 80 PSI in the rear and 60 PSI in the front, and that is because I’m towing my toy holler. In about 1 month or so I’m going to drop my rear drive tires to 60 PSI. But I don’t think we went wrong with them, I really like them. I was told buy someone that has talked to some that represents Toyo tires that the Toyo trails has a 2 ply extra thick sidewall and has a stronger and better carcass construction then any A/T tire on the market. So buy doing it that way the Toyo trails have about 85% strength of a three ply sidewall but gives you the benefit and the ride quality of having a 2 ply sidewall. So basically the Toyo R/T trails have roughly 85% the strength and durability of the traditional Toyo R/T and M/T tire but with out the stiffer ride of the R/T and M/T tire. And the design of the tread blocks on the tire is arranged in such a way that you don’t need nearly as much siping to get good traction in wet and icy conditions. And so far I’ve been in very rainy and wet conditions on the road with approximately 5 to 8 inches of water on the road and no hydroplaning at all. And very good traction on wet roads. And like I sed before, that is with 60 PSI in the front and 80 PSI in the rear.

    Do you guys think that these RT Trail tires are better on snowy plowed roads than a 3 peak mountain snow rated tire, Wildpeak, KO2, etc...? I am sure they are better for snow wheeling but I have a hard time believing that they would be as safe as 3 peak mountain snow rated tire on road.

  • @andyham6094

    @andyham6094

    Nah definitly not better. Falken wildpeaks are the best all terrain snow tires I’ve ever used and I’ve every big brand all terrain tire. Ko2’s aren’t bad but not the greatest especially in rain but snow it’s pretty good. The toyo open country all terrains are pretty good in the snow but imo not better than ko2’s. Falken wildpeaks are just the best especially in rain and snow. Nothing will really be good with icy conditions. Never hydroplaned with the Falken wildpeaks wildpeaks on the highway or anywhere else compared to every other all terrain I’ve tried and i have close to 45,000 hard miles on this set right now and still going strong with plenty of tread and grip left.

  • @chrisking6695
    @chrisking66953 ай бұрын

    The reason why you don't like the KO2 is the exact reason why they're good in snow. You want tight spacing so the snow gets packed. Snow sticks to snow. A mud terrain or even the rugged terrain will eject the snow and that can be detrimental in deep powdered snow because you'll be digging instead of moving forward. What's also important is how they air down. How soft is the sidewall and how easy do they air down so you can float on top. You don't want to be digging. You want the tire to pack the snow so you can float on top of it. Crazy that you don't know that. Got the 35" and all the other things and a shop owner and you don't even know the basics. Just crazy. And you barely drove in snow. It wasn't even half a foot deep. Lol
