Food mechanic is why I stopped playing TW games. It made sense in Shogun, as in that period food production was more important than trade. It does not work in any other game

This is one of the best in-depth, easiest tutorial's to understand. Well done DragonHeart.

This is really good... I own both ROME and SHOGUN and really wanted to play them but when i boot them up i always feel really overwhelmed by them this is really helpful gives some useful tips so thank you for that!

This was a GREAT video. I had such a hard time understanding the UI until I watched this.

Big fan of the TW series since the first Medieval. I just recently got Rome II, and this video is extremely helpful to get a quick grasp of the main campaign layout. Thank you!

What a show it was, loved it back in the day.

Just what I needed! I got the game in a Steam sale (7:99!) and I jumped into it and got overwhelmed immediately, but it looks so cool! I actually love Roman history so I know this is going to be fun. Thanks! Cymru Am Byth! : )

Iv had it for years to I'm trying to get a hang of it my cities get getting attrition and after 28 ad my game crashes my favorite is medieval total war 2 play it all the time even with 2 daughters

@@hannibalburgers477 I still only have 25 hours on this game actually, but because of it I found the Total War Warhammer series, and have over 1400 hours on 1-3, (1000 of those on Warhammer 2)

Finally! Thank you. This clears a lot of things up. I am getting a handle on the game but my biggest problem is beating opposing factions. Never seems to happen. Also prologue is impossible to finish. I have seen many complaints about this. Just watching you explain diplomacy reminded me of school yard antics only on a grand scale and with loss of life. We'll never learn.

Wonderful tutorial love this game do you have a video that happens to explain the first couple things you want to be doing how to make sure your economy doesn't collapse or how to counter Champions that keep Ram sacking your town.. when they're high levels or when Heroes come in

Excellent beginner tutorial. Just bought on Steam last night, so nice to get some tips before playing a campaign. Are you familiar with the Total War: Warhammer series? If so, are the army movement/battle commands the same in Rome 2? If so, the learning curve for Rome 2 just got much easier for me. I was a bit confused in the Prologue battle screen by the army formation options. Do you have any other video that explain these in more detail? Many thanks! :)

I hope you see this since you posted the video a looong time ago. but im having trouble keeping up my food and public order up especially at the start. any tips to keep that up. seems like every 3 or 4 turns im running out of food and I have no big options to bring the resources back up.

10:00 one little thing u should have tried Athens again . if you negotiate a deal with any factions ally they like you more (vice versa is also truth ) Athens is friends with Egypt Kreta Sparta . so if u get deals with any of them u get like +10 relationship and can try brake a deal again . just a little tip for newbies .

I know I'm a bit late but I'm asking your opinion on ideas on improving my micromanagement during battles ( especially in single player as the AI can multitask and be more challenging). I'll probably get the game in like a week. I know I'm late years late but I just got to know about the TW franchise like a little over 6 months ago 🥺😔. I've played Napoleon and that's the only experience I have. Are the servers still active in Rome 2 ? I really want to play some multiplayer too btw 😀.
