I know this is almost 2 years old but I think there is a more ideal/efficient approach to the first 3 turns of the game. Turn 1 Attack the enemy army near velathri as you did but only scare them away once and then take Velathri on turn 1 with the same army and build troops there. Force march your southern army north towards the city of Neapolis. Send your fleet to block the harbor of Alalia. Etruscan army will move to Ariminum now. Turn 2: Move army from Velathri across northern route to be able to attack Ariminum on turn 3. Stay in your territory with that army to build more military units in that army. Move southern army across the ocean towards Alalia. Your fleet keeps blocking the port. Inbetween turns the etruscan Army in Ariminum will recruit more troops or move south towards Rome. Use your spy to hinder their movement (don't worry if it doesnt work). Turn 3. Take Ariminum with your north army. Use spy to hinder movement of the etruscan army again. Bring southern army directly next to Alalia and attack with your fleet and take the city. By turn 3 you have completely obliterated the etruskans. That always works easily with auto battles. If you do them manually you don't even have to recruit alot of units. The etruscan army will now either directly attack Rome (happens almost all the time) which you can defend very easily, even with auto-battle, or move somewhere. If they do the latter, just kill it off during the next turn. By turn 4 you are completeley free to conquer Carthage and Syracuse in the south or regions to the north.

Hello. I’m new to actually playin the Rome 2 but have been watching pixelated Apollo videos only to realize I have no clue how to play campaign. Really appreciate the tips. Followed along while playing and ended in a pretty comfortable spot!

Pretty awesome video, thanks. Didn't work for me though. I recruited troups before attacking venetia but was attacked before they joined so got my butt handed to me. Still a great video.

Diplo in rome 2 is not needed and worthless. Just kill them all and move on, its the only real way to deal with the ai, then with politics just pay off everyone so you dont get civil war

  • @KattoVideo

Cant deal with the Secession/Civil wars on Legendary. Even if I have low risk of happening, they still do and take away all my cities, food, armies, etc. Last time I got like 18% of happening, i was like "good", clicked next turn and OMFG Civil war again :( .

unfortunately the only way to stop a civil war is to throw endless money at it and keep the other families/houses loyalty in the positives. it’s such a broken an awful mechanic but i don’t want to risk losing full stack armies with my best units

I’m just gonna explain one I had high hopes for the video not attacking the Etruscan city turn one or you sent your spy to that land instead of to the Etruscan Corsican island you attacked a army of three😅 your not as experienced as the video title suggests you put a food building turn one when attacking that city grants the building space food needed putting a building in a un walled city turn one if these player get attacked by Carthage your first turn fucks them completely not worth watching the 40 minute video.

I understand there are far much more efficient ways of doing this, I am trying to reach people who struggle and make it as easy as possible for them to go for it. I never said I am the best at the game but mearly say that this is how I do my first 10 turns as rome which a number of people found really useful as well. Also if Carthage does attack it does not matter, since they are so far away it really matter in any of these cases what so ever, since it is so far away, that all you need to do is make sure you have 1 army in the south and be prepare to hold off anything they send. With 1 Army its more thanenough to kill everything they got, especially with a settlement. From my experiance of doing this, they attack on turn 20-30 by which time you should be more than ready to deal with the issues in place.
