Another tip that just save me last night whilst being flanked from the forest by thousands of Celtic tribesman right towards then end, - my men were wavering and everything, exhausted and covered in blood- was to place the 4 groups of triarriii into square formation as they were pretty much completely surrounded and screwed whilst the principes were far into the flat plain fields dealing with other enemies. Much to my surprise the square formation allowed them to rest long enough for the label to read fresh and active!? So I quickly told them to break formation and they all started clearing through the rest of the enemies forces until they routed joined by the princepes behind them. It was so so epic!! It's a shame I didn't save the replay. This game is amazing.

A pro tip which a great player taught me: send a spy to the other side of the map which lets you to trade by sea. For instance, playing as Egypt, send the spy to the Baltic sea and start trading with the faction which is there. You will have automatic vision thanks to the trade route of the other factions which are on the way there (Iberia, Iceni, Gauls...) without having to send a fleet yourself. It's also possible, especially playing as Carthage, to recruit a massive army very early without paying for upkeep letting the income to go negative but hiding your remanent money in building in construction in order to cancel them and recruit even more troops. Especially useful alongside embezzlement mechanic and looting, you can conquer entire provinces before the AI has set a proper army. It's the first thing I do as Carthage, killing Syracuse and Turdetanii.

23:25 as far as I know , Authority is more related to the area which army covers. The higher Authority, the more area is covered. This is important when you're blocking a choke point or something like that. In battle it's also important because it increases the morale and abilities boosting area of the general, so you can keep him behind, out of danger, and still motivate the troops. Cunning is important to prevent enemy ambushes and to carry them out yourself. Zeal is important because it improves the missile and weapon damage of the general's unit (interesting for units such as Royal Peltats when they're generals). Needless to say that the real important deal for each one are the further available abilities of each branch. I play mostly as Hellenics and I tend to go for the Cunning branch, since it makes available better replenishment, night attacks, campaign movement and to make the character have at least 6 Cunning in order to carry out the embezzlement mechanic (important for early game especially).
@quentinl7598 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tips! I was definitly underusing the trade. Tip from me: mercenary units are very costly to upkeep. After a battle, if a unit is beaten up it is a far better option to disband it and hire it again the next turn vs waiting for it to refill its ranks. Also offen time you only need the mercenaries to boost your ranks right before a battle so it is better to hire your own troop first and hire the mercenaries last. The only time I would keep mercenary units in my ranks is if it has gained significant exerience and/or if the region hiring pool is depleted and I have no other choice.

At 19:00 he sends his spy to discover new trade partners. This is not a good idea and here's why. 1. You can make an Admiral out of one of your faction characters and he can sail around a lot faster than a spy can travel. 2. The cost of making that Admiral can be zero if you pick the right guy. 3. When they reach the end of the world and there is no more coastal factions to discover you can disband the Admiral and he will return to you faction on the next turn. 4. The spy is far more useful stealing food from factions you want to attack than used as an explorer. 5. The spy doesn't gain experience just walking around. 6. When you finally reach the end of the world you can still disband the spy but then to make a new one it will be 1200 gold.
@SaulKopfenjager
4 жыл бұрын
Also he doesn't need a spy to SEE Massilia, what he calls his "Boat" is actually a 'Navy' & I use it to attack the Etruscan port-town in Corsica on turn 2 instead of sailing it to Egypt, you should see Massilia soon enough, but they will hate you for a while because you just declared war & attacked their trade partner Etrusca. (On turn one I recruit a cavalry General in Sardinia & sail the Navy north up the coast towards the town, go through the diplomatic tab engage with ROME & offer to join WAR against the Etruscans - which makes them happy with you & ought to stave them off from declaring war on you until they get pissed at you when you beat Syracuse, capture town turn 2 with navy & forced marched Cavalry General.)

Your two hoplite units could be combined. I believe the experience from the level 1 group would be incorporated into the less experienced group and bring them closer to also being level 1. Also, I don't think armies themselves draw on food in Rome 2. I think that's a feature of Rome 1. What you do need to watch is that military buildings, economic buildings and even religious buildings and upgrades tend to draw on food (every turn of their existence), though some of them also produce it. I make sure to select the food producing variations as often as possible to stay in the clear, and also not to have all food production centered in only a few places. If you lose that place, it will lead to a food shortage as you need to keep up production every turn. There is no "bank" or storage like in many other strategy games.
@alejandrop.s.3942
2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I tend to combine units which wouldn't lead to the loss of one and give the diminished one to other general in order to retreat to a province of mine and recover there (I also try that this general has fresh troops in order to give units to the principal army). That way my principal armies are always at full strength and my armies advancing without waiting too much for replenishment. I play with population mods such as People's of Rome which makes replenishment troublesome. Food works as you say and it's a shame. I remember games like Imperium 3 in which you could send food to a fort for storaging it there when your armies were far from your city, send caravans...that an strategy lacks of a supply system is a joke.
@alejandrop.s.39422 жыл бұрын
The way for economic victory is playing tall, trying to have as many allies as possible, attacking the greatest empires in the campaign and liberating the factions which they destroyed. In my current Syracuse campaign I already have 20 trade partners.
@alejandrop.s.3942
2 жыл бұрын
Use Dresden mod for diplomatic options, since it would be impossible for a non-barbarian faction to liberate fallen factions. If you play vanilla you can still provoke revolts which lead into new factions to arise and subjugate them when you play as an Hellenic, Roman , although it's way more complicated.

First of all, laughter is not the same as humor. Laughter is the physiological response to humor. Laughter consists of two parts -- a set of gestures and the production of a sound. When we laugh, the brain pressures us to conduct both those activities simultaneously. When we laugh heartily, changes occur in many parts of the body, even the arm, leg and trunk muscles. Hope that helps.

Your laugh reminds me of Maester Pycelle when he's nervous, love it 😂

You actually do control a full province at the start as Carthage via the client states, hence why you can issue the edict.
there's so much to learn about oh my god edit: the friends of the hundred and four name is lowkey badass, also i learned a lot, thanks man! im at around1k hours in the game but never played campaign becuse it was so confusing so i never bothered anymore, just stuck with quickplays and online matches, i'll try to play now with this now that i understand it
thx you were amazing to guide the game for now player as me
At 19:00 he sends his spy to discover new trade partners.

There is a difference between satrapies and client states. Only the satrapies will join your wars automatically. The client states you will have to bribe to join you, usually.

Satrapies work the same way as vassals do in Europa Universalis, whereas client states are a joke, since they still can do whatever they wish but still increasing your imperium.

No big patches have come that change any of this? Probably going to have to watch this a couple of times, haven't played Rome 2 in years. Enjoying Galatia, the public order penalties are pretty brutal, I'll definitely do things differently next time, increase the difficulty and get some more of the blue research early rather than focusing on upgrading my army chains.
great video you talk me to buy the game
Many blessings upon your hearth and hall, pimpled one.
Liked and subscribed for your laugh
The random laughs are hilarious bro haha
Your laugh sounds exactly like that guys in Billy Madison, except a bit sorter :P
I laughed so hard after hearing your laugh...

The way for economic victory is playing tall, trying to have as many allies as possible, attacking the greatest empires in the campaign and liberating the factions which they destroyed. In my current Syracuse campaign I already have 20 trade partners.
@alejandrop.s.3942

Use Dresden mod for diplomatic options, since it would be impossible for a non-barbarian faction to liberate fallen factions. If you play vanilla you can still provoke revolts which lead into new factions to arise and subjugate them when you play as an Hellenic, Roman , although it's way more complicated.
Watched for the tips, stayed for the laughs.

A part two of this video would be nice. This total war game seems to be harder than the others. I'm one those people who lost in prologue and lost in about my first 3 campaigns. I was very close to rage quiting the whole game. And I'm not even newbie to the total war series, played shogun 2 hundreds of hours.
Hey man love the content. Have you ever watched Jon Stewart on the Daily Show? Cos your laugh is exactly the same as one he does in his George Bush impression x)
Eggcellent
I wonder if playing EU4 for nearly 5 years will help me in this game. I feel like it will... I can already tell I love the game. I can finally control a battle. EU4 is great for grand strategy, but I like being able to play this game unit by unit. Controlling exactly where they go
Clear and easy to follow tips actually but the laugh is questionable thank you sir
If i want to drag my mouse on enemy hold right click press charge how do i do that
I learned a lot but one thing I would like to correct you about Is the number vs number Because certain units can fight of multiple other units Spartan hoplites vs roman pretorian guards is not really a balanced fight Quality>quantity

I know changing the background changes whether you are playing original, emperor edition, or other modes of the game.
I love your laugh
you could also explain politic little more, like bribe, assasination , marriage etc
I'm halfway through but noticed during trade agreements that you didn't mention how other factions interact with each other. Example getting a trade agreement with Egypt could negatively impact how Athens and Rome dislike you for that
Pirate...how i deal with those worms?😅 Ow and btw, txs for guide!

Also make sure you watch what you build or upgrade. Many military and religious buildings require 4 food minimum. Build plenty of farms and fishing ports.
Great video, intro music needs to change though. Great song but does not fit this format at all.
Stayed for the laugh :D
His laugh
the game does not have glitches you have an entire province because lybians are your client state
Heh heh heh, good video.
Why do you make those laught like sounds like the one on 28:45 ?

First of all, laughter is not the same as humor. Laughter is the physiological response to humor. Laughter consists of two parts -- a set of gestures and the production of a sound. When we laugh, the brain pressures us to conduct both those activities simultaneously. When we laugh heartily, changes occur in many parts of the body, even the arm, leg and trunk muscles. Hope that helps.
