Additionally, it makes more sense for Lighting to spend an entire season thinking a girl is a guy if her name is Jo, whereas it would’ve been a bit of a stretch for Lightning to think “Mary” was a boy all season.

Not only that, the body type diversity is also one of the reasons this show is awesome. Like, some female characters have a slim hourglass figure, while some have curves and some have muscles. The same thing goes to the male characters

i honestly like diversity more in old shows (like magic school bus) than new ones because it feels more earnest (not saying diversity in newer shows is bad, or even ingenuine, just that sometimes "token representation" is incredibly egregiious)

Me. She and B were awesome characters. Unfortunelly they were eliminated way too soon, with Dawn having one the most forcefull eliminations of all. They should had last some more episodes.

Another thing interesting about Brick is that, as seen in his concept art, he was actually meant to been an antagonist who was a lot more harsh and blunt toward the other campers. However, they pretty much gave that personality trait to Jo instead.

Honestly the change for diversity really helped the show for me when I was little. Me and Mike aren’t the same ethnicity (my family is Mexican) but seeing a character with the same skin tone as me made him really special for younger me and probably helped him be one of my favorite total drama characters point blank. Also makes it feel more like an actual reality show where it feels like they actually picked a bunch of people from different backgrounds from the pool of auditions instead of pre-making them you know

I imagine that early scot with dog tags and a dark green tank top as a smarter, more psychopathic and manipulative, more physically intimidating villain who takes the role as the main antagonist by a long shot, would have been cold but probably too skilled of a villain that would block out the image of smaller antagonists in the season.

Btw Old Scott/Brick’s “necklace” is actually dog tags. They’re basically military identification. Makes me wonder if Scott was going to be a military guy like Brick ended up being.

I really love what they did with dakota, the reason she's so iconic is because she always looked like a paris hilton rip-off. Her beta design was cute but not really her style, i'm glad they used it to make the zoey we know and love.

Here is something you forgot to mention, during the development of Revenge of the Island, the season was supposed to come out in 2011, there is actually a teaser trailer made back in 2011, it was delayed because of the Fukushima earthquake that happen in Japan the crew made a few changes such as removing mention radioactive to toxic.

Molly is wonderful I want to see this design in the future with Original/Glass Zoey I wonder what their personality would be like I remember reading that Dawn's voice actress auditioned to voice Molly and a "Zoey"

Speaking of Mike's propotype design, his appearance inspires Jimmy in Jimmy Two Shoes. After that, his body stays the same and his details and colors changed. That's a nice reference we see.

I also thought that because B didn't say much/last too long, they could've used that older/OG design as a self-reference and homage to how far they've come as a series

If it wasn’t for the theme song being released on KZread before the season was promoted in America I wouldn’t have notice it was coming

I'm in the middle of binge watching TD on Netflix, liked alot of the characters in Revenge of the Island, which is why I hate how we get so little of them. At only 13 episodes, we really didn't get to see them grow and evolve if they didn't make it into the next season. Wanted to see more of B, Dawn, Dakota(zoid), and even Brick.

If scotts og design made it to the final release, he would remind me of current Brick

B's close resemblance to the camp TV "original DJ I guess", I saw that man as a camera man.

My theory: beta brick was going to be the main villain for ROTI while beta Scott was going to be a military cadet. Just my theory, but I think it’s plausible. Note how beta Scott had the dog-tag necklace that final-design brick has.

out there theory, scott and brick original concepts were switched, with Brick being the one from the out in the country and scot the military brat then, during production, they inverted the thing with the updated design, lowered the brat-side of military brat and pushed directly to the country of the final version (and all-star) of scott

I wonder if old mike still had Svetlana, Manitoba, Chester, Vito, and mal.

26-27 Episodes and 20 contestants With Blainley as the new host since Chris got locked up, also I haven't seen the reboot yet but I think both the reboot and revenge of the Island missed the opportunity to have blainley as the host

Wait he said Mike was Italian, but when I was watching the show I thought he was Filipino, and I ended up googling it and a website I found said he was Filipino? I know he can be both since mixed kids exist, but that part confused me-

I honestly think most of the new designs just look so much more refined and ready to go. Old Molly looks kinda scene and I like that idea.

I wish they'd at least left the hipster glasses on Zoey. That would have at least given her one reason to be called "The Indie Chick". Then she could also be a bit more about not liking mainstream stuff, sort of like Gwen but with a more upbeat charm to her.

Facts: Gwen Zoey and Jo are among 3 characters who had their original names changed at some point: Gwen as Heather Zoey as Molly Jo as Mary (The name of the Geniuses Girl Of TDRR) And the only characters that didnt make it to the final cut in Total Drama Reuloaded are Dawn and B. And also the Adversity Twins design of Jay and Mickey looked liked Cameron's original design.

Also, 'Molly's' design still has the came bangals as 'Zoe's' design which I really like they kept it

I remember i walked into my older brother watching something in a summer camp and i remember a blond character with multiple personality disorder. When i watched the show, at the start i thought jeff had multiple personality disorder, since i watched it a few years later.

Yeah... I knew I remember B from Total Drama Action. He was on 2 or 3 episodes as some kind of low-level technical worker of the show (moving things, cleaning etc.) I rewatched few first episodes on KZread and his first appearance is on episode 3 and his design is almost completely the same as in 4th season. Personally I know it could a longshot but I want to see kind of development for this character like this all appearances in past seasons wasn't accidentally (Even if they in really was) by making this part of his lore.

The original characters is what made the show so well, bur to the later characters credit, many of them are memorable as well, just not as much as the original characters. To this day I’m not too sure why they changed the original cast entirely.

I like to think that Molly canonically exists in the Total Drama universe, but dropped out last second, and that explains why there's an odd number of players. For those who don't know, a similar incident occurred in the fourteenth season of Survivor, where one of the contestants dropped out mere moments before filming started, resulting in there only being 19 contestants. So I thought it be cool if Total Drama had something like that, lol.

I remember the name being announced as “Revenge of the Island” when Christian Potenza uploaded a video reacting to a fan accurately guessing that the R in TDR stood for “Revenge.”

I love total drama, I never miss an episode and right now I’m watching total drama all stars
