I love how the Total Drama crew used the original character designs for many of the interns and other unimportant background characters. It shows that they wouldn't let those designs go to waste, so they still incorporate them in the final product.

@@stellarkirbo You can see in the trailer both Duncan's final design as well as the intern design. So there's no way that intern design was Duncan in the promo. The intern design was Cody, he was probably just called Duncan before they changed his name to Cody

@@Robalexe yes, but that ain't Cody either, also it might be Duncan as well since the storyboard of the promo shows, I feel like they just kept these and didn't bother changing for the pilot, because you know- it's the pilot. Still don't know how he thought it was cody

After seeing Gwen's original design I headcannon that she's actually a natural redhead and she just dyes her hair

I like Gwen's old design too. I like that she's a redhead and wears sandals with pants, and that she's paired with fellow sandal-wearer Geoff. I also sometimes pair this version of Gwen with canon Justin. ^^;

They changed Gwen's old design because it resembled a character from a different series (Joan of arch I think) it was a copyright issue if anything

I think the actual reason for Owens shirt change was that this show was SUPPOSED to air on Adult swim but didn't and ended up with another broadcast company instead. Like if your really think about it, some of the crap that happens in that show definitely makes more sense when you realize it was originally aimed at adults rather than teens

The rewatchability of the first season is insane. It's interesting to see how TDI initially started out. Pretty cool they reused alot of the scrapped designs for interns and background characters!

tbh, I kinda prefer that old Bridgette design to the current one. It just looks a bit cuter imo. Maybe they could use it for a different character? Honestly, I’m not really sure if Pahkitew Island has enough behind the scenes stuff to talk about, but idk.

Owens shirt was actually changed to the Maple Leaf so they should reference that the show took place in Canada I believe

Ezekiel's camp tv design was influenced into Noah. The similar body type, and Ezekiel was originally going to be sarcastic like Noah. Woulda been better than Ezekiel getting voted out first ever season. (ezekiel is my favorite character)

Apparently in the early elimination draft, back when the show was supposed to be like that early promo, Ezekiel was still booted first.

I like Lindsay's original design, mostly because she wears sandals. ^^ In fact, I'm currently writing a TD fanfic, which is the entire first season with the characters genderbend. Mostly the contestants, Chris and Chef, the interns stay the same. Lindsay's male counterpart Lenny wears sandals instead of boots as a nod to "Camp TV".

Video idea: What if Season 5A And season 5B Fused into one season, into a Favorites Vs Fans season? I honestly would love to see so many campers on screen, aswell as give Courtney and Ella A little friendship with them singing together, and a lot that the allstar cast could do with the newbies

I think Cody and Ezekiel switched designs, Cody rocked the nerdy sweater vest, while Ezekiel had the beanie and skater vibe

However, Heather, which is currently the main antagonist of Total Drama Island, shares the same name with Gwen’s prototype before the Camp TV promo.

Gwen’s og design is completely different from her final one- I kinda like the vibes the og design gives off but I much prefer the final! I honestly get imagine Gwen dating Geoff

Also Sadie’s earlier design can be found in Total drama action as a cardboard cut out in the rockstar episode in the celebrity man hunt (as you mentioned) and as a person carrying justin in a aftermath bonus clip

damn cody was a hunk i know his old design was called duncan too at some point but im not sure if it was meant to portray duncan himself what i know though is that he was a temporal design for cody afterwards

Fact: Harold's shirt sticker is a planet actually. Also Geoff's bracelet is blue (before one) and it is on opposite side. Geoff's bracelet is yellow (last one) Also on another side from the old one. Also Duncan's sleeves are on another side (before one) And Duncan's sleeve changed its position later on (last one).
