    The manual is 4,204 pages, in .PDF format. It has proper links in the TOC, and is incredibly well written. I am a former technical writer. I have huge complaints about almost everything I read. But I was really impressed with their manual. They even have tutorials, with sample files to work with. My only problem is that it can feel overwhelming.

    Happy New Year sir. I think re-starting 5 minute Fridays is a great idea and I'm looking forward to it. Even after all this time, I keep popping into your back-catalogue of 5 minute tutorials when I get stuck or have a brain fart. And I'm guessing that your new episodes will add a new perspective on old subject matter which has evolved as Resolve has evolved. I had my first go using "Magic Masks" on my latest masterpiece with its intro title. It only lasted a couple of seconds and was clunky, but your tutorial helped speed up my learning curve. My last attempt was before the invention of "Magic Masks" and involved key frames. Took a sodding day to achieve and lasted two seconds. 😵‍💫😵‍💫

    Excellent Intro. Thank you! As a video editing hobbyist, I was hoping Studio would go on sale, like it did late 2022. I'm still tempted to buy it because the price was $495 before 2023 and $295 is a good deal. Like you said, it will enable all features, allowing my RTX 3070 TI to go into overdrive. 🤩 Prorating the cost over 3 years is just under $100 per year. Correct? I also like the fact that one-time purchase covers future upgrades.

For example a Timeline in Vertical Format (For TikTok/IG Reels) and another in Horizontal Format (For KZread) but in the same project? I can't seem to find information on this and I'm sure it's something a lot of people are looking for!

    Awesome, looking forward to learning. Would love a topic on file management, for example once I finish a project I move the whole folder, with videos, audio etc off my main drive onto an archive drive. If I attempt to open the project from the archive drive the timeline is full of red... with everything off-line. Everything must be references with full path names rather than relative path names. What is best practice for managing this?

    Hi Alex, thank you for these videos, they're great. A quick question though, how much faster is the render in the studio version. I've got a lenovo 7840hs, 32gb & 4070gpu laptop. Renders on a 6 min 1080p gopro video with no fusion, colour correction etc is about 2min 30 secs. Which seems way slower than people are posting, I'm assuming they are using the studio version. For reference Powerdirector 19 does the same video in 1min 20 secs.

    One thing I haven't found.... yet is how to record my screen. (Though, truth be told, I only just learned how to do a screen capture despite having been working with computers since the 1990s.) I want to, sometimes, be able to show what's on my screen without taking a video with my camera and having it look like I took like I videoed my screen with my camera. I see loads of folks, including you, adding footage from their screens into a video in order to illustrate something (i.e., the pig.😊) I'm sure n00bs like me would appreciate that. Cheers and Happy New Year.😮

    Would love to see a video explaining the difference between knowing keyboard short cuts and not. I've been transitioning from Filmora to Resolve. My memory is terrible and with any computer application I'm a mouse click and menu person, will not knowing or remembering the keyboard short cuts significantly slow me down as an editor? If I should remember a few what are the top 5 short cuts?

  • @shlagin9354

    @shlagin9354

    5 ай бұрын

    I've been using the free version for about 3 weeks. I started using as many shortcuts as I could, but I rarely use any at all now. The only shortcut I use regularly is control + b to cut in the timeline while in the editing window. What I find myself using quite a bit is the favorites tab in the effects window. I just drag and drop my favorited effects straight from the tab and rarely have to search for any effects anymore. One other tip: if you have 2 clips right next to eachother you can right click between them and choose a transition with varying frame counts. This is very useful when you have lots of cuts that you want a basic transition for.

  • @ClaytonsWoodArt

    Ever since update to the new version of Davinci Resolve 18.5.6 has anyone else notice problems with removal of green screens ? it is removing everything ( or adding everything ). It is unable to tell the differences between the typical green screen with good lighting, and white and mat white finish tables, brown masking tape, duct tape, and a variety of other objects which are not remotely looking green ( even large items ), not the same light as the green screen, and on a table far away from the green screen. Or even large items infront of the green screen that are not remotely green. What are the different / new techniques needed in order to remove a green screen these days ? Also how to remove the green tinge from around objects. Free version - not studio version of Davinci Resolve 18.5.6. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    I wish you all the best and I hope you miss a week and consider me for the The DaVinci resolve license as that is a bit out of my range at this moment. And by the way not to be critical or judgmental but your face is noticeably red and you are almost slurring,... careful, No matter seriously thank you much for all your concentrated content! cheers to you and yours!

    Ha no worries at all. I actually always slur my words! Ha that's my natural speaking unfortunately. I have to try hard super hard to pronounce all my words properly. I just got lazy for this one😄

    your funny ^^ ! Can someone help me? I have a problem with exporting my video in good quality. I export it for: 1920x 1080 HD QuickTime H.264 Native Quality : Automatic Best On my Pc it looks fine and sharp, but if i upload it on youtube, and even weeks after publishing, its kinda less quality. Is it a problem with the encoder or bc i only have 500 Subscribers? Like if im a "bigger" Channel, my Video Quality gets better? Idk, thats why im asking here. Maybe someone can help me. Thank alot, love u all, see ya
