For more like this, there's a great channel called Blind Covers that gives a band just the lyrics to a song they don't know, and 1 hour to write and record a cover of it. Different vibe cause the music's all new, not just the drum part, but always fun to see the different directions bands go in. They've been on hiatus for a few years but if people watch their older stuff, I hope they'll record more.

@albertdavila6808 I agree with you. The keyboards have a beautiful percussion feel and that should of been his first clue. Why play a pounding "80s" type beat, when the music is swinging/moving??? I don't get it. Anyway, his fills were mostly great and double kick parts were obviously fine. And it's almost absired that he can't figure out who the band is just by hearing the voice and keyboards. I know it's not Purples most popular track, but still should be able to figure out who it is. But such is life
That final take was mind blowing 🤯
He picked up the song so freaking fast, including the hits. At the beginning, seeing his kit setup, it felt like he had things spaced so far apart, but then once he started playing it made all the sense in the world. What a wild energetic flailing style of playing, and yet it never fully leaves the feeling of control. Pretty sick awesome and unique drumming style!

I would bet money he grew up on the Travis Barker, Pop-punk school of drumming. But as a punk and a drummer at about the same age, and someone who's dealt with chronic pain (and now a very recent back surgery from scoliosis that I most definitely inherited), I almost wish I just picked a different instrument that wasn't so physical. I know you don't need to move like that to play well, but it's intimidating when you see people who can just keep going like that every day.

He was great, but one thing I've noticed from a lot of drummers is they go hard out all the time. What made Iain Paice so amazing as a drummer was he knew when to go crazy on a fill, but also when to keep things minimal. And he made it look easy all the time.

It really clicked for me on the Liberty DeVitto episode when he said the drummer for the Deftones was playing for the recording, and not really doing the live performance drummer thing and showing off. In the studio with the other musicians and a producer you’ll get more dynamics and blending. And more rest notes 😂
I don't play drums much anymore, but I love this series. These pros earn every cent they make. The best of them have such a winning combo of enthusiasm, goofiness and professionalism.
I grew up watching his dad "Stoner" who played in a local band, Standing Hawthorne who all went to my high school in Orange County. Their guitar play most recently toured with Keifer Sutherlands band. So cool to see his son kill it.
Technical and feel, and a total showman. No wonder he gets the touring gigs with such big artists! Awesome display of loving what you do
That was flat out one of the best episodes of this format I've seen. I really liked the version Tosh came up with. He's an awesome drummer.
I love this guys drumming and attitude. Humble, but meanwhile killing it in drums. These kind of videos show how much the drummer has an influence on a song. Keep it up Drumeo ❤
Gotta be honest...never heard of Tosh Peterson (or many of the artists he's played with), and I'm not much of a Deep Purple fan, but this video is amazing. This is a cool track, and Tosh approaches it with incredible energy. Kudos to Drumeo! These videos are so much fun to watch.

My wife and I saw Tosh at our first FOB concert in Virginia Beach last year. Although we were bummed that Andy couldn’t make it, Tosh brought an infectious energy that made us glad we were there that night. So fun to follow him now. So talented and entertaining!
This was so inspiring to watch. I’m not a musician-just a fan-but it’s clear we’re seeing an incredible talent here. Not only is his musicality on point, but he brings so much energy and flare to his performance. I’m not surprised that he stays booked and busy! For all the rockists in here demeaning the work he does for hip hop artists-the best musicians of all time ALWAYS have a deep love and respect for a range of genres. It’s telling that all of the great drummers featured on this channel have a wide range of influences from Motown to funk to disco. The people complaining in the comments are demonstrating exactly why they’ll never understand what makes great music and great musicians-you can’t truly appreciate music without appreciating what makes good music regardless of genre.

To everyone comlaining that he's "too generic" "he has no substance" "he only played for no ones", "he can't be a drummer and never have heard of Deep Purple" you're all just fucking boomers. This guy killed it, he has a lot more skill than a lot of famous drummers, not everyone has to hear a set of bands to be a great musician. And if you think that his performance is generic, you're just stuck in the nostalgia circle jerk of thinking that everyone in the past was better and the new things are bad. Learn to enjoy life and have some fun and try to appreciate the things of the present instead of only revolving in the past before you go to sleep on a box. Life's too short to be so bitter about everything except what your parents showed you when you were little
