Jess is one of my favorite guests you've had on in the past, so glad you brought her back in for some Rage!
now THAT is a name I haven't heard in a minute. was a huge fan of TSS as a teen, always a great show, and Jess was one of my favorite drummers :) great stuff.
I'm an old stoner who eats and breathes Rage but didn't know who Jess Bowen was. Wow!!! So much respect for her skill and her spirit!

@Kevin-me2dz Yes, started pushing the vaccine and everything like that. Bent the knee for the democrat party. They were supposed to be one of those bands that was against big government

@@Kevin-me2dz looks like YT deleted my comment. Their all about bending the knee to big government now.
The smile on her face when she played the first verse is amazing! She was in the song, in the groove, deep in the beat. That was impressive!

I think I now know where Ms Bushell has her funny expressions from 🤣 Love it though
Wow!! Quite possibly one of my favorite episodes!! Loved it!
This might be my favorite one from this series. I didn’t expect any of that from her.
this is another example of a "very simplistic drum part" given extra color and dynamism. she nailed the general feeling and cranked it up way beyond what the original drums do. amazing. bravo

Her read on the accents was excellent
I didn’t know who Jess Bowen was, but I do now! She nailed it like any pro would have. Great job!

first time on this channel.... and OMG, please don't stop... this was EPIC!!!!
This absolutely smashed. Her interpretation fit really well which, frankly, doesn't happen more than it does. And like, in one take? Sheeeeeeeeeeeesh. Killed it.
I don't know what the heck happened but when she started to play the beat to the verse almost like Brad does on the record i had some tears of joy and i laughed out loud. This drumeo format is something that i hope will never ever ever die❤

7:03 it clicked. 🤘🏻
Takes courage to play the drums to any song after one take and put it out there in the public domain. Massive respect.
I have had a crush on Jess since 2012 when I seen her and The Sumer Set on the Vans Warped tour, she was amazing live! Thanks for bringing her on here, haven't seen much of her over the past few years.
Love the version.. just amazing.. kudos!!
Her ghost notes are on point!

Great
The musical universe is so much larger than we could ever comprehend - this series is effin’ brilliant!!
I love how they take these more, dare I say, reserved, thoughtful type of drummers, and have them do the hard stuff. The animal inside comes out. And vice versa.
wow this is the best video i have watched in a LONG time!
She freaking killed it for a genuine first take. One of the best "For the first time" I've seen so far.

@@michaelpoteate5138Because everyone else must've heard the same songs as you? 🤡
God damn those 16th notes on the hihats are HEAVY. All from the wrist. That's sick. And how on earth is this first take so good? That's mindblowing. Her reaction to the song structure and energy is on point.
Saw her band & met her back in San Antonio, way back in later 2000’s. She was super down-to-earth & took time to chat w/ us.
This is a great series. They all do such a good job making the songs their own.
Jeesus, she is talented.. that was an awesome version which 100% did the song justice. Could easily stand on its own! Great job!
The fact that this channel has gotten SO big and has been able to have all of these incredible drummers onboard makes me so happy. I’ve been a fan for years, even as a non-drummer. I love that you guys facilitate young musicians understanding how these drummers are able to do this type of thing, always putting the “active listening” explanation. You guys rock. Keep it up
I personally loved every moment of her playing this off the cuff, her additional drumming at the beginning was really awesome!
Man did she crush that! It was super cool to hear another take on this great song!
The artists they bring on this channel are so consistently amazing I think it’s easy to take for granted how impressive doing something like this is.

Major insight right here folks
She did it with energy and power, which is exactly what a Rage song needs. She killed it!
This was impressive. I love her and she absolutely killed it.
I like her version a lot. Very High energy performance, it let's you appreciate the song in a new way. I also like how she did the occasional mimic of the guitar and bass. Super Awesome.
THAT WAS INSANE!!!!!!! That first take was just incredibly good. Absolute hats off 🤯

Jess is a beast -- the fact that she listened once and got through the song with no real flubs is pretty amazing. Really great feel. This song is a great example of simplicity, execution and dynamic shift -- the less is more cliche applies.

Or this is an example of how simple the song structure is.
Chills! Literal chills! She did not just crush the song, she told a story, incredible dynamics, energy building, incredible feel! What a beast
What a 1st take without ever hearing this song!!! Highly impressive!
Watching this again a few weeks later, the real stand out is how amazing the kit sounds not just her incredible playing.
I appreciate how some of these drummers are super technical, chart out the song, and dissect it. Whereas some others just hear it and spear it. THEN THEY KILL IT! Each one blows me away, frankly, because they’re all such unique, talented humans. Love this series!
Been at Rage fan sine forever. But wow. The way she loosened the hi-hat at 6:19 gave a completely new dimension to that part that is friggin AWESOME! Gave me a HUGE smile on my face!
If this is truly one take it's truly amazing the way she instinctively pulled back and gave the important parts room.
