@@TiagoCatarino yeah idk if I would want to move to Denmark cause traveling there would probably bankrupt me but the benefits of literally never feeling like your actually working and getting paid to play with Legos sounds awesome plus if what I read online is correct you get 30 to 50% of of any sets you buy from them but if I can't do any of that I guess I could always just work in a lego store

Always brings a smile to my face when I am reminded of how 1980, I had a girls convent school stop for the night next to a B&B I was staying at in Salzberg. After the nuns went to sleep the teens came out smoking filterless Prinz Eugen cigarettes and drinking schnapps straight from the bottle. geeze, you folks know how to live hard- and well. Cheers!

I've always wanted to be a set designer for Lego. I've always thought I would want to get really good at creator 3in1, and then later apply that concept to other lines of sets like star wars, minecraft, marvelz etc. I gotta build up a portfolio of builds to make myself a desireable applicant, but in the meantime, I've applied for remote jobs at lego like customer service.

I absolutely love Star Wars and Lego so I have a tonne of Lego Star Wars! I guess this won't get through to you anymore, but what was your exact role in the company? I noticed there are listings for model designers and for product designers. Can you explain the difference please? :)

He was a set designer (or product designer). A model designer is someone who builds the big lego models you see in places like legoland. He worked mostly on the creator 3 in 1 sets, though he also made the ship in a bottle snd gingerbread house sets

@@Chris_winthers Yes, I've figured out the difference in the meantime. I just was a bit confused because he used the terms interchangeably at some point. Still, thanks for the input! :D

Hey tiago, i will put my message here because I can't manage to do so on your website, somethings is off on it I would like advices concerning being a Lego designer, it's been some time since I've begun to follow you on KZread, and your advices videos regarding your ex-job have been priceless to me, who's dream job would be what you did. There would be 2 sectors where I lack knowledge to do so, and that would be in what type of design studies to do, and what type of build should I do, to improve myself, to be able to design more complexe sets. I already can't thank you enough for all that I've learned in that regard thanks to you, and I'll understand if you can't really help me more about it. I don't even know if you will this comment, but thanks if you do

1: just pursue whatever fits you best anything from 3d modeling to carpentry can help, though it's best to get a degree that involves 3d software to some extent. What really matters is that the degree teaches you how to design. Of course, what really matters is how well you can design, and a degree just helps with that 2: build lots of things. Cars, buildings, animals, ships, whatever you can think of. Just make sure to build varied things

There's a documentary by ENDEVR titled "the world's dream job: how to become a set designer at lego" on youtube that documents a lot of the process, though some important things are being experienced with lego, as well as getting some sort of degree in a design field, though the second option won't be strictly necessary
