wow, what did you smoke? I want it too! Lego has become a joke… lost lead in quality, in design, in innovation - except for excessive pricing. Most of their newer models are lacking any innovation and originality. They are only defending their market lead position by ANY means (including legal attacks on small resellers about things they actually would lose in court).

One thing I can say is they're exceptionally good at hiring the right people for the right job...customer service staffs are masters at addressing complaints, development staffs are honourably defending all development secrets and processes, sales staffs are great at marketing and boosting revenue, management staffs are running the company like it's their own life and public relations are almost unhumanly good at representing the company. For those who are curious; As a dane who grew up in Billund, my family actually decided to move away from the city after having lived there for over 20 years. The cities reputation of being the capital for children has brought a lot of entitled families, or as we call them in Denmark "Curling parents", which has led to the downfall of the city. The city is filled with snobbery and entitlement, especially in the schools. Which is something that is traditionally frowned upon in Denmark, especially outside the higher class communities. It's also funny to me how Lego literally runs Billund. Lego single-handedly controls the city and are in charge of almost all building projects in the inner city. The municipality of Billund let's Lego do whatever they want, it feels like.

LEGO is not what it used to be in the 1990s. The quality dropped, the designs are simple and the price skyrocketed for no valid reason. There‘s a German KZreadr (Held der Steine) who started off as a LEGO content creator, but got sued by LEGO for telling the truth, won his case and now runs a brick store in Frankfurt, selling not only LEGO, but also other brands. In every video he‘ll build a new LEGO set and show you the better, bigger, cheaper version of the same set made by other companies. Unfortunately, people at LEGO didn’t learn anything from their mistakes. To quote an expert: „If you’re willing to spend €600,- on a set, and have to contend with cheap and brittle plastic, and stickers, because the designer was too lazy or too cheap to print the design onto a brick, then you’re just a fan boy or even worse - a consenting victim.“ I wouldn’t spend another cent on LEGO.

I swear I must have paid for one of those buildings! My kids loved Lego and we spent a fortune on it. It was the one toy the twins shared and played with well into their teens. I now have 4 giant tubs full of the stuff, just waiting for grandchildren (in about 10 years).

@@riskinhos Spoiled? Who said anything about them being spoiled? Yes, we bought a lot of lego, it was their favourite toy. They didn't have video games, they didn't watch much tv, so when they weren't playing outside they were playing with their lego. Just because we chose to spend money on a toy that requires them to use their brain instead of parking them in front of a console doesn't make our kids spoiled.

I'm confused about when this was filmed. They mention 2019 when there will be 100 minifigs to 1 person and then talk about a lego series that won't come out till 2016. But it looks like it was all recorded recently.

Honestly, the designing of visual sets like this is not all that impressive if you know what pieces are available. I however have the greatest respect for Lego Technic designers! I just built the set 42128 with my son. It is impressive how they managed to compact so many mechanisms and gears in the available space from the chassis
