You need to make a complete beginner series on cyber security, like identifying malicious software and ways to resolve problems

You would need to start with prevention. There is a lot of information about it on internet. Haven't seen it neatly sacked for beginner with links to more in-depth topics. It's probably better to hire a professional as a home user, at least for a few hours to asses the situation and for advise.

It starts with simple things. Are all your machine protected? Are your policies good and secure? Get a health check from your vendor. Are all your endpoints healthy? Test your users. Your users are you first line of defence. If they don’t click the link or open that document then your anti virus won’t have to stop it It can get more complex from there, but get the simple things right and you have set a good foundation
The other day I suddenly woke up in a panic because ransomware had encrypted my computer. Thankfully it was only a dream.

Ransomware scares the fuck out of me. I'm a cyber security school graduate, so I am prepared in the case of a ransomeare attack, but this stuff still scares me.
Love to see top 5 antiviruses test in a single video as a comparision and test check for malware detections and capabilities. Also wanted to see the malware and ransomware test of Trend Micro Maximum Security suite.
Hi Leo, Just recently as you know zloader is a banking trojan that bypasses WD defenses using Powershell this is where you may need another AV or add another layer to WD defenses. I do see more of these types of attacks to gain access to your system banking credentials.
0:15 Ah, yes, the PDF that needs admin privileges to open. Nothing suspicious to see here... :)
Thanks Kaspersky for supporting one of my favorite KZreadrs and thanks for being the best ❤️
The one that is scary and the one you should be afraid of is the one that lays in the background feeding in formation without hurting your computer by visual effects like most of these. 👍🏻
Wannacry hit me like a brick. I think I got it from my university worksite after it infected some system somewhere along the line. It took down a giant billboard at the centre of the city, displaying the ransom message proudly for a couple hours, a red ticking clock of doom (this was after my comp had been infected). Sucks for them, I was planning on rebooting my system because the hard drive had started glitching up (still using it today). I'd backed my important stuff already, so all that was left was to install all the other software over the period of a month or two.
@KankaWasTaken

that sounds really scary. I guess I was comforted by not knowing wannacry could spread like that, because this would have made me very paranoid

An education! Thanks for the information on this unsettling class of malware.
Great video Leo! Thanks for sharing it with us!💖👌👍😎JP
As someone who's been following ransomware since cryptolocker (at age 7-8 may I add lmfao) it's so scary to watch this threat which was once this kind of uncommon thing explode into the mainstream and then be going after businesses. It's nothing new now but watching it unfold was something else (especially considering wannacry infected one of my old computers)
Hey Leo love your videos, could we possibly see a new Malwarebytes vs ransomware/malware video?
I've used Kaspersky for years and years and absolutely love it. It isn't resource heavy on any of my computers either.

I could have sworn there was a ransomware that puts it at the beginning of your boot up and stops it from going forward without the password
Love your vids mate
thank you! You helped me a lot in this video.

I got attacked by the NQSQ ransomware 2w ago and only noticed it a week layer since i ignore my files and play some games, i said to this ky dad and he said to reformat the laptop, but i eliminated the ransomware but my files are encrypted
This pipe making company near us got hit, they ended up paying it out; then after they installed MacAfee to protect all the computers...
I am just here because of a KZread ad from the Swedish Police, warning about ransomware. The ad in question appeared shortly after 01:00 AM local time.
6:30 companies be like "compromised! Change your names, your addresses and your fingerprints" XD
Thank You!
Saw a sobering stat which said that over 50% of ransoms paid didn't get their data back anyway.
@GT7776

to be fair they aren't obliged to give you the data back, even if you pay them
@samik83
2 жыл бұрын
I've been uder the impression that most of the time they get their data back. Think about it, it creates trust that when you pay you get what they promised and they can do it over and over again. I remember that when Garmin got attacked they even gave them some helpfull hints on how to make their security better. Even with this kind of business model you have to establish trust for it to work in the long term :)
Really appreciate your content!
Here's some fix (for the OS only): Change your hard drive and install another OS Don't plug your installer while computer is running. After you reinstall it, don't use any account that previously used from the attacked os. Happens to me one time when I wrongly downloaded some CoD in the internet with a password "1234"
YEAH can you also make a video about which antivirus is best now (because intel brought mc afee so its a better now ) and also do the video focused on which antivirus blocks malware best then you can go on the user interface etc (make it so in a scenario of a home user)
works, keep up the good work man
Hey, I have a question: How can it be that a ransomware 1. prevents me from getting rid of it after I re-installed windows and 2. locks all external hard drives ? Can you give an answer to both questions?
Can I ask where to get these Ransomware? I really wanna have a look at their codes even one is enough for me I know it's ridiculous cuz some people try to avoid it but I want to have look at a genuine disastrous program and how it avoids security of windows defender and other various types of security
Hello leo..can u discuss how pegasus spyware infect it would be much help ..thank you... love urs video a lot
Hi! Do you need any special sanction to review Dr.Web?
Could you test these against Deep Freeze 8.6? When you reboot everything should be restored.
The thing that still pisses me off about the Colonial Pipeline attack was that it actually didn't shut down their ability to transfer gas at all, just their ability to track the cost of it
i don't think there's even a thing called "city of london police", pretty sure northern england's police force are called the metropolitan police
Why windows doesn't support MAC (Mandatory Access Control)? - rethorical question This could reduce soo much the impact of ransom. Maybe we can parcialy sandbox an application with DAC rules (every app under a different unprivileged user)
thanks bro it's really help
Resomeware hit transnet in south Africa as well!!!! Like a month ago.
Good job bro
ransomware is always scary
@thepc security channel Please do forensic on eScan total security and eScan Total security for business Thank you
Oh oh.....I have a video request. How about doing regular Windows Defender plus (drumroll) Cisco Umbrella against ransomware. The idea is that Umbrella should block callbacks.
A question: take multiple ransomwares which are known to be decryptable, and run them all one at a time on a machine. Can that machine's data be restored? (in theory it should still be)
Please make a video on stop/djvu ransomware and .ooza extension ransomware
I'd suggest the companies which suffered from ransomware and companies which want to avoid such troubles not to use the OS they all use, learn their lesson or learn from others mistakes and use a more secure, free OS.
Its good that news makes people aware of this. Yhen it will educate people and help spread awareness.
(Not so) fun fact: the Colonial Pipeline attack didn’t affect any systems directly involved in the pipelines’ operation, but the billing system! Because of course money is more important than ensuring the gas supply…
funny the Russian one steals your data to their cloud before it encrypts it on your machine. This sounds just like the Apple iCloud. Then the put a link to keep on my computer, wihch when clicked deletes everything from the cloud and doesn't put it back on your machine. LOL.
as a private consumer, could i just the wipe the drives, format them and reinstall windows to get rid of the malware? i usually backup personal files, like pictures etc. on an external USB drive, which i disconnect after copying. everything else on my computer is expendable, so long the hardware isn't damaged. is that viable, or will the system still be infected after formating the drives and a fresh OS reinstall?
Top hackers: Encrypting your data and demanding money Also top hackers: "an military"
We are not prepared to have computers in our brains

Hello Leo, I've contacted you on twitter regarding some info on some efdc ransomware. Please respond
how can I download it on my mac? could you share
Why would you click on a random pop-up, i think you have a better chance of getting ransomware if you got to a sketchy site.
