I'm soo excited to see how the new 32" 4k OLEDs rumored to come out this year, perform. The 42" C2 was top of my list, because i want a larger format panel, and the price point is incredible, but the PPI of a 32" would be a very nice upgrade over the 42".

My man I bought the Alienware AW34DWF because of your original video and I’ve loved this monitor to no end. The more recent firmware update definitely made it just that much better and actually get to enjoy my HDR settings. Even though I kind of want to reduce in size to a 27” since I play a lot of FPS games. Still this monitor has given me zero issues and remains an absolute quality product out of AW. Kind of hope AW will put out a 27” of the same standard and quality as this one. They need to give up on PCs and stick with monitors full time.

If you're an FPS player then you definitely made the right choice going DWF! I originally purchased the DW (non-F) and the input lag is way worse than other OLED displays I've used. When playing a 60FPS game, it felt like my mousepad was made of ice and my mouse was wearing iceskates~

And I ruined my DWF doing productivity work on it for 8hrs a day within 3 months (doing the pixel refresh every 4-5 hours as required). So while it was a great monitor for gaming, OLEDs are terrible for work. :/

Agreed this monitor is kick-ass, but AW didn't make it?? it's a Samsung panel with the 👽 sticker on it? lol either way been giving it heavy use for about 6 months now and still am amazed at how good everything looks (came from the 27" odyssey g7) then traded it to a friend for my old gl850 back plus cash and using it as a vertical panel next to the DWF

But you play FPS wouldn't you want Ultra Wide? I prefer 27" because I like horror games and the wide FOV kinda ruined the tight narrow corridor feel, most games are intended for 16:9 format anyway.

Recently got my PG27AQDM based on your reviews and I couldn’t be happier, looks great, has brightness headroom in SDR, makes all the games I’ve tried look better. Works great both in single player games and CS GO. The only downside so far is the huge stand footprint, unless your desk is 80cm deep - monitor arm is a must.

Joined the 42" C2 gang at the start of the year and absolutely loving it. Didn't take me long to see why it's a popular choice. I was hesitant about the size but a 80cm depth desk has proven to be the perfect amount of space to see the whole screen without having to move my head. Just picked up the AW34DWF as it came in much cheaper than all the others at roughly 930 USD in Europe. The G8 came close but was still about 150 USD more. Updated it, enabled HDR1000: HDR content is just gorgious on it. Coming from a VA UWQHD the jump in image quality is really impressive, no jump in detail but the improvement in color accuracy and contrast is dazzling. Never realised how truly bland SDR is compared to HDR. Was sceptical at first but now I am really glad I followed your recommendation. Thanks for making this kind of quality content!

@@DaftFanPunk the GR95 is very nice, BUT I’m in my mid 30s now and want a nice balance in my gaming experiences. Truthfully this came down to my personal preference and the protections you get with the warranty. The Alienware, for me, provides good responsiveness for multiplayer and excellent color and picture for single player titles. The color and HDR experience feels superior to me on the Alienware as well. The blacks were absolutely crushed on the LG. I’d say that’s the main drawback of that monitor. The brightness didn’t bother me on the LG, but the Alienware is also superior there and I don’t think it’s close. The Alienware also looks better in SDR content than the LG and I’d say that is actually important to consider. The warranty is superior on the Alienware, though I believe LG did add a 2 year burn in warranty for the 27” monitor. I can’t speak to photo editing, but I’ve read other places that OLED is not advisable there due to burn in risk, though I’ve read other places that it’s worth the risk. My guess is that the Alienware would be a superior experience in that regard unless you don’t want the curve during editing and don’t need a bright monitor. Sorry for being so long winded.

If you do only gaming, then sure OLED would be THE choice (and it is for TVs), but for productivity and regular usage (work+chill+gaming) mini-LED seems to be the best option. At least on paper. It's just these oled monitors having the problems. From the c1 to c3 and b1 to b3 all have pixel shift. Plus the c1 isn't the evo panel so even less chance of burn in. I just really want to stress to anyone watching this that OLED displays are not for everyone. Beyond the G8’s price and questionable but ultimately non-factor choice of ports, it’s the display technology’s idiosyncrasies that will make or break your experience. Unless you’re careless or filthy rich, you will absolutely never forget that OLED monitor is at risk of burn in. Little things will gnaw at the edges of your mind - the borders between application windows, the line in the taskbar that ever so slightly juts out to indicate active apps even when the taskbar is hidden, even how long you’ve had the same webpage on in your browser - never mind how long you’ve been playing a certain game with all of its static UI. All of that shit will live rent free in your head 😅

After I noticed it I took precautions and nothing* else burned in and stopped getting worse. Asterisk* because this phone (S8+) has not 16:9 but 17:9 or similar aspect ratio, so I have very slightly burned in black bars from KZread. I agree with your list as it pertains to PC gaming. As for console gaming, the MSI MEG342C is the best QD-OLED for consoles because it supports all the HDMI 2.1 features like 4k120 with HDR and VRR. Even though the OLED G8 has HDMI 2.1 it can't upscale to 4k and it also can't do HDR at all on Xbox (unless I hook it up to my capture card, but even then the best I can get is 4k upscaling with HDR at only 60hz and without Game Mode for low latency). I'd greatly appreciate if you could possibly look into why this may be and it's apparently the same with the OLED G9 so it's not due to the micro HDMI port. Hopefully it's not the 40Gbps bandwidth vs 48 on the MSI and that Samsung is able to resolve it via a firmware update for both models, but some extra publicity regarding the issue would be much appreciated 👌

One concern with the recommended ASUS version of the 27' OLED is that seems ASUS's QA has not been up to snuff for a bit now. Fair number of consumer reviews are showing DOA units, units failing after a few days, etc. Add to that the general ASUS lack of quality on other products in the PC realm in the last few years As a personal example, recently got the ROG XGA27QM to replace a failed PG279Q; the newer display had really bad color settings out of the box, has flicker issues, and is oddly larger (bezel wise) than the older display it replaced. While the review displays may of been cherry picked, not sure the brand is one that deserves the high level of praise its been getting of late...

I have had first hand experience of serious burnin on a TV, and it was not pretty. Was hard to ignore. Especially since it only appeared in some scenes with specific colors made it even worse since it was harder to just ignore, basically blinking into view. Thankfully it was within 1 year, so within warranty. A 48in would be kinda cool in a small apartment setup where your desk is in your living room. Have your typical desk setup in corner/side of room then run a long cable so the 48in is your secondary/tertiary monitor but centered in the room where you can lounge on couch or recliner with wireless kbm and play rpg or turn based games, browse the web, ect...

I'd never buy a monitor with a guaranteed lifespan no matter how phenomenal it is. this tech is for people who have light usage (6-8hrs tops) and no 2000-3000 hrs with no burn in is NOT heavy usage. call me when oled can guarantee 10-14 hrs a day for 5 years with no tinkering (refreshing, low brightness etc) because in those kinds of usage scenarios these expensive monitors (1200+) would last at best 3 years with no issues.

Monitors Unboxed are the best with monitor hands down reviews. over the past 45 days i have purchased the AW DWF, Samsung Oled G8 and LG C3. I run a 7800x3d w/ a 4090. I am not a competitive fps gamer. Of the 3 monitors, I have to say after tweaking the c3 hands down it beats the DWF and G8 oled with the 4k oled capability. If you have the desk space, absolute winner.

I recently picked up the LG Ultra Gear 45” ultrawide OLED at BB for $1200USD. The next day it shot back up to $1600! It’s 240Hz and simply looks amazing. I replaced a ROG 4k 144Hz IPS panel and although the 4k had a bit more detail, I love the UW format, refresh rate, and contrast of the QHD OLED. No complaints whatsoever!

The LG Ultra Gear 45” is still on sale at my Best Buy location. It’s a nice screen, but I kinda wish it wasn’t as curved as it is now. I like the cut on the Samsung G8 and the bigger G9. If LG could match the curve, I would absolutely be sold on getting one because I like the LG ecosystem and experience.

Well, the specs of the screen are all nice except the pretty low resolution for such a big size. Unfortunately thats the most important thing at a monitor. I really hope in the future they will bring a similiar format out, but with a way higher pixel density. Right now I am using the LG Ultragear 38gn950-b, so 38 inch but 3840x1600 pixel, so even its smaller it has more than 20% pixels and these seems to be perfect for this size. So like 5184 x 2160p would be perfect. 😂🤷‍♂

Thanks for this video! I know 4K OLEDs aren't as popular, but I'm looking for at least a 38" ultrawide 21:9 curved 4K OLED for use with MSFS2020 (and MSFS2024 next year). I don't need one that runs at 240Hz, as MSFS doesn't typically require running at more than 60fps, so a 120Hz monitor would be more than enough. Ideally, I'd like something in the 40" to 42" (21:9) size range - maybe going up to 45" maximum. I'm hoping there will be options suitable for me next year. PS: I'm currently using a Dell S3220DGF 16:9 1440p curved monitor. It's fine, but it really lacks in cockpit resolution and gauge clarity at only 1440p.
