I picked up a Dell G2724D (165Hz, 1440p) back in March and it has been fantastic for gaming. It retails for $300, but I snagged it for $200 and I'm blown away by how good it is. I think this is another monitor worth checking out in the midrange. Rtings has a great technical review of it as well for anyone curious.

If I was looking for a 1440p monitor under $300, I'd really have my eyes on the AOC miniled. That 1000 not peak HDR brightness combined with the local dimming zones just make it a different experience from other monitors in that price point. If you are in a region that has these monitors more expensive than yeah, that's unfortunate. So I personally don't see any reason to go for the Dell unless it's a fair amount cheaper and you can't afford the AOC or if your country has higher prices for tech like in Europe.

Since my current setup consists of a slightly upgraded Thinkpad t420 (Can it game? No it can't XD), I'm currently saving up for a whole entire setup including PC, Monitors, peripherals, etc, and the total budget I've allotted is about close to $3.5k for everything, and that includes dual monitors. This video is a huge help, I've been going through other recent monitor recommendation videos, and it is definitely interesting to see just how many are fairly similar recommendations, and that the monitors I'm definitely considering are being recommended by multiple people. I'm really tempted about those AOC options, the mini led one that has real HDR for such a low price and it's a VA which I typically prefer because I like the deeper constrast, and I'm especially tempted towards the other curved one that's very similiar to the Odyssey g6 (another monitor I have been looking at that has great motion / contrast as well). Though I'm thinking ultimately I'm going to go with either the MSI QD one for a little cheaper since I'm not honestly that big on HDR and would rather have a better SDR experience (one of my main games, Minecraft doesn't support it), or the more expensive MSI QPX since the reviews on it I've seen have stated for an IPS it has a better contrast than most (somewhere around 1400:1 vs the typical 1000:1, and the other monitor I plan on getting is an ultrawide VA MSI panel, so if I want to have deeper blacks in my gaming experience when I'm not using that for productivity, then I'll have options. Of course all my thoughts and rationale may change eventually, since by the time I'm actually getting around to having enough saved up for a full setup, it'll pretty much be time for black friday sales anyway, and maybe there's some really good deals on stuff, and if there's an OLED option that was around $550-600 during black friday, that may also sway my decision. But I'll keep pretty much all the general recommendations on my radar just in case!

Last week I got an Acer Nitro 32" curved 1440p monitor that does 165Hz for a little over $200. I like it. It's pretty smooth when I run games at 165FPS with my graphics settings on 7800XT turned down a little (I would get the 7900 GRE if I bought a card today). Using a DisplayPort cable does seem to be important to get the most refresh rate from the budget monitors. Thumbs up!

I’ve held back on buying a monitor until this video releases.

Man, all good deals. Been meaning to upgrade the old Samsung monitor. Can't decide whether to get an Ultrawide Monitor or Dual Monitor set up!

Hard choice on that one! My only advice is if you go Dual Monitor make sure you get two of the same and do consider if your current setup can power them at the settings you want

Go UW. I've done both. You will not like that monitor line in the middle trust me.
