I was thinking hello Dolly or 7 brides for 7 brothers barn song was going to be on the list. Hello Dolly was a bit lower key, but had the whole wait staff with her. The barn dance had a lot more parts with trading partners and set design.
The sheer quality and quantity of the masks and puppetry pressent in the stage version of "Circle of Life" is extraordinary. I can't imagine the amount of effort or number of rehearsals it must take to pull off correctly. It deserves the win easily.

Who would’ve imagined how differently the opening number “Circle of Life” would’ve been translated on the stage when everyone first heard the news of a Lion King Broadway musical before the show made its debut.

You missed "Step In Time" from Mary Poppins... the incredible tap dancing is one thing but then he tap dances on the roof of the theatre 🤯
I love the enthusiasm and infectious beat of Hairspray's final number. It's incredibly catchy, that you can't help but want to sing and dance along! 💃🎶
One Day More from Les Miserables with all the different characters singing of the future at the end of act one comes to mind. Masqurade from Phantom of the Opera is a amazing party leading into the Phantom's absolutely creepy appearance as Red Death. You may need to do a second video.

YES!!! How in the world did ONE DAY MORE not make this list?!?! All of the songs in this list are fantastic but seriously, so g with “THE most” is by far and most definitely ONE DAY MORE. And it didn’t even make the list? I’m in awe of this forgettery lol!!

I fourth this
Friend Like Me in Aladdin is straight up perfection 😁👌💙
“Notes/Prima Dona” from The Phantom of the Opera! Erik (Phantom) has sent notes to several characters, making His presence and various demands to be known. As well as a couple vague threats if these aren’t followed to the letter. The recipients of the notes are all on stage and the mixture of their voices makes a great scene! Flowing into “Prima Dona” in which the managers reassure the wounded Carlotta that she is their star and no matter what The Ghost demands, she always will be. It ends with nearly everyone singing a glorious “Once more” final note immediately after Erik reiterates His threats!
"Be Our Guest" The dance break in the stage version is what makes it worth at least an honorable mention.
Omitted? 1. The waiters at the ‘Harmonia Gardens’ incredible complicated and brilliant dance routine in HELLO DOLLY. 2. “One Day More” in LES MISERABLES. 3. Based entirely on the movie; “Cool” in WEST SIDE STORY. That group song and dance number is just the best. Fueled with high energy, and the characters’ grieving, it’s something that can’t be equaled.

YES to ONe Day More
Lion King DEFINITELY deserves first place!! Good Job!
Good lord! I just assumed One Day More was #1 on this list. You don’t even have it as a honorable mention. I’m not sure Ms. Mojo even watches Broadway.

That’s two big Act Ones finales on Idina Menzel’s resume
One Day More, the entirety of Cabaret, I Go to Rio, Luck Be a Lady, Go Go Go Joseph
96000 from In the Heights not being included in the Top 10 was a major overlook. Not even being in the honorable mention is criminal.

"Freak Flag" from Shrek the musical, happy sunday Ms Mojo, take care and i hope i see you soon for more. Greetings from Colombia.
When I saw "Lion King" almost a decade ago at the Paramount in Seattle, I got goosebumps once the song started, and it didn't stop for the entire show. It was amazing.
I got chills when the animals danced down the aisles - even just watching this KZread video. I definitely agree with your picks. I would've included the bottle dance from Fiddler though
My heart died a little realizing Moulin Rouge came out in 2001.

Welcome to Old. Population - us.
The first one that came to my mind was "Consider Yourself" from Oliver! -- one of the ones that makes me think "Run! There's a production number coming this way!"
One Day More from Le Mis… and Carnaval del Barrio from In the Hights… and Simon Zaelote from Jesus Chist…
How did cats get missed on this list? The whole musical is over the top. Between the costumes, the music, the dance numbers. It’s a spectacle to be sure.
Masquerade from Phantom! The first time I saw POTO the audience gave it a standing O before a single note was even sung
Where is Be our Guest from Beauty and the Beast? I saw this live in Toronto and was blown away! Also, One day more from Les Mis and Hello Dolly, with the incredible waiters dance!!!
When I saw "Hairspray" people actually got up and started dancing during 'You Can't Stop The Beat' (I actually bought the cast album during intermission I was so already impressed)
i will never forget watching the lion king musical during my 8th grade trip to dc/ny. no one wanted the aisle seat so i volunteered. it was absolutely incredible ❤️
I love Something Rotten and I really want a movie! But Christian Borle NEEDS to play Will Shakespeare again!

I got lucky and saw Adam Pascal play Will. I could see him doing well in the movie too.
Just adding to the vast chorus here who seem to have jumped on to say the same thing I am here to say: ONE DAY MORE - I am in shock that Ms. Mojo missed literally the mostest of the most and didn’t even mention it.
Disney does to have the best musical versions of its movies, for me, The Lion King, its musical version is awesome from beginning to end: all the songs (my favourites Endless Night, Shadowland and He lives in you), also that of Beauty and the Beast (Home and Be our guest). Aladdin I would also like to see.. ..

The stage version of Newsies blows the movie out of the water
Putting it Together from Sunday is phenomenal too
Great video ms mojo is a good channel
Justfide no.1 The puppetry is stunning and creative. The idea of the 'animals' reaching 'pride rock' from the aisles (via audiance) is pure genious !
75: You didn’t miss mine at all. You have no idea how much I love Defying Gravity in Wicked since I was a little girl
The elephant in the room? "Springtime for Hitler" from "The Producers". Over the top and down the other side.
I absolutely love The Lion King opening!!!🤩🤩🤩
I wanted Defying Gravity to be #1! It was the first in a long line of Act One finales that made me want to stay for the second act. You Can’t Stop The Beat I prefer in the stage version when all the characters (including Prudy and the Von Tusseles) are dancing! West Side Story and Chicago I’m fine sticking to the movie versions
Its as thought Time Warp from Rocky Horror doesn't exist .... at all.
“What’s Up, Duloc” is definitely a song that goes over the top in a GOOD way. From the way the original song “Welcome to Duloc” transitions into the new song, Christopher Sieber’s singing starting out soft until near the end of the song when it gets higher with the set of Duloc expanding to symbolize his kingdom also getting higher, the score similarly starting small, then going into a big jazz score during the dance break and turning into an extravagant show number during the finale, the chorus of the ensemble, the choreography, the costumes accurately imitating the look of the Duloc marionettes and Lord Farquaad’s costume from the film while giving them that show style glamor and the overall presentation being a spoof on over the top musical numbers in Broadway musicals, it’s definitely a highlight from Shrek the Musical.
So happy to see Something Rotten finally get some recognition.
I agree with your number one pic. Because I can't get past that song without crying. But sit down, you're rocking the boat, And another automobile mention should have been on list. And you forgot color purple.
I think this is one of the best and most fair I've seen in quite a while. The only song I would want to add either low/mid way on the list or in honourable mentions is Raise You Up/ Just Be from Kinky Boots. Was lucky to be an Angel in that show last year, and audiences went crazy for it
HOW is 'Anything Goes' only an honorable mention??!! :O

How about that reprise of 'We're in the Money' in that production, and some of the others following it, immediately after the bows? That entire finale sequence, plus that dance encore give me goosebumps everywhere. Easily one of my favourite shows.
I still randomly break into the Elephant Love Medley (movie version). Probably know the lyrics to that better than I know the lyrics to any one of the songs. Lol This list really should have been a top 20 though. Lol.
The inclusion of stairway to paradise makes me so happy
"The future belongs to me" from Cabaret could be a contender 😮
One Day More from Les Miserable deserved to be one this list. The American Dream from Miss Saigon should’ve at least gotten an honorable mention.
The whole being dead thing from Beetlejuice. so many diferent genres of music in one piece! I also think that wait for me in Heades Town deserves more than an honorable mention.
So, we're not gonna talk about 'Go, Go, Joseph', 'Masquerade', 'Brotherhood of Man' or 'NYC' from Phantom, H2$, Annie, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat? I'd add all four of these on there, personally.
Where are Step in Time - Mary Poppins and One - A Chorus Line (both were movies and stage shows)?
I got to see Something Rotten! on Broadway, I adore this song!
Hamilton: ALL OF IT.

Satisfied truly is over the top like who would think, oh maybe we should have everyone move backwards and do the last few scenes except singing a different song, Angelica would side bar the audience and share her pov
I love Haversian so much. Favorite musical ever.
“The Wiz” should’ve definitely made this, I can think of at least two numbers that belong.
even though Satisfied made the list, i'd add Yorktown as well from Hamilton

For the spectacle and vocal prowess needed alone Defying Gravity should definitely be higher.
One day more-les miserables
In ride the cyclone, during the song the ballad of jane doe. The singer is spun around on a harness to give the illusion of her flying
some of my picks are im not a loser, what you want, that beautiful sound, morning person, the smartphone hour
It's a Long Way to the Top 🏤 "School of Rock"
I would suggest "Greased Lightning" from Grease.

I prefer it in the movie version
You might want to add Rich Man's Frug, from Sweet Charity
There are so many on this list I dont know about But the Nr1... this Nr1... is the best Nr1... of all Nr1s
I was waiting for Sieze the Day from Newsies
Kinda missing Kinky Boots. "Everybody Say Yeah" would be on mily list!
cooool
Im surprised this isn't just a list of Act 1 finales... Also surprised Turn It Off was on the list (i thought Man Up would've been in its place)
I was gonna say, if the top wasnt lion king I would have been surprised. Anything Disney would be good. I also loved Moulin Rouge and Chicago.
Wow, apparently you CAN stop the beat...considering how many other musical lists it's topped, but came in 2nd here
WHERE'S ONE DAY MORE? OR ANYTHING FROM NEWSIES, ESPECIALLY KING OF NEW YORK OR SEIZE THE DAY?
HELL YEA LION KING NUMBER 1 BABY
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
What about "Be Our Guest" from "Beauty and the Beast?"
La Vie Boheme from Rent
Hades Town is rather good
This list is worthless without "One Day More" from Les Mis.
Ya Got Trouble!!
You forgot phantom of the opera :(
Top 10 my wife and kids moments
Love how you understate that turn it off in Book of Mormon, is about repressing gay urges😂
Say My Name from Beetlejuice
Are you obsessed with your own voice, my dear? You are keeping commenting.
Idk if this is unpopular opinion but Moulin Rouge the film was beautiful and the music was amazing, I recently saw the musical in person at the Pantages and honestly I was disappointed. The music was a lot of mash ups of other songs like a lot of them that I couldn't keep track of all the mash ups, the actress playing Satine was just not on par with Kidman and they changed her entire personality in it. The other thing that ruined the experience was some women kept singing to every single mash up acting like it was a concert ushers had to tell them to calm down more than once.
Bollywood: hold my sari
Be Our Guest- Beauty and the Beast. Springtime for Hitler- The Producers
You should consider musicals from other countrys not just American. For example Germany has many awesome musicals. "Tanz der Vampire"; "Elisabeth" Starlight Express" and more. Its really narrow minded to only ever consider america. The World is very big.
supercal from mary poppins????
@dukeofrodtown1705
Жыл бұрын
If it's me, it's that number, plus 'Anything Can Happen' which do bring out the most, especially the latter's climax and the fact that Supercal is the most iconic song from Mary Poppins.
One Day More's absence here is a travesty. Also, you chose Turn It Off over Man Up or Spooky Mormon Hell Dream?! Shameful...
Sex Is In The Heel- Kinky Boots
Springtime for Hitler! I don't love the show but where else do you have chorus girls dressed as pretzels??
Always remember Jesus is King spread the Gospel and Repent Amen
I like a lot of your lists. This is the Worst ever. It doesn't really follow what you originally, I thought, set out to do. Just Horrible.
