It is a crime that we don't have professionally shot original cast recordings of every musical.

I went to school with her, she was incredible even then
What I love about sierra’s Christina in that moment was that she turned and belted and the smoke in the air perfectly looked like her soul escaping. And Ramin will forever be my phantom and Hadley my Raoul ❤
What I love about musical theater is the way they prioritize the communication of the emotion over the exact musical accuracy, and it always works so well. Of course they are absurdly talented singers, but really being able to belt out a note that feels right even if its a little sharp or flat is really really really impressive, and it always makes the performance feel so much more alive than say a studio recording

It was my first ever musical and it made me fell in love with musicals. You can't imagine my joy when I've heard there will be a new musical adaptation after almost 2 decades of waiting. 😂
I’m so so happy someone else shares the feeling a as me about the 17 Jean Valijeans singing together. IT SOUNDS SO POWERFUL AND BEAUTIFUL. Never don’t smile or get chills listening to that. ❤️❤️❤️ EXACT same thing on The Final Lair and Wandering Child in PTO.
The Lion King (stageshow) adding He Lives In You from LK2 was the best thing they could do! Its my favourite song from LK in general! Plus the use of Han Zimmers soundtrack by adding lyrics was goosebump inducing!
7:40 Kate Shindle wanted the song to end with a true climax so, during a rehearsal, she just. friggin. WENT FOR IT. LOVE her.

I agree! Honestly, I will listen to her sing opposite either Ramin or John Owen Jones, as opposed to the original Sarah Brightman. I mean, Michael Crawford was the OG stage Phantom, and his Phantom got me through HS with my sanity intact. But fast forward 2 and a half decades when I watched the 25th Anniversary of POTO at Royal Albert Hall here on YT, and I was blown away by Ramin and Sierra! Damn, Ramin had me absolutely crushing (😍) with his "Music of the Night," and Sierra's "Wishing" version had me in tears. Sarah Brightman could never put me in that headspace.

@@JackBlackwithadashofWeirdAl Hehe -- Ikr?? That chemistry is insane! 😅😉 And speaking of all the feels...including the "Point of No Return" variety: I read Tarot, and because of the way I tend to interpret both the Lovers and Devil cards, I could come up with soooooo much commentary on Erik's line of "You try my patience! Make your choice!" Because both of those cards are all about choices/consequences thereof, etc.....and Christine is probably dealing with ALL the feels (including ones where she's still probably attracted to Erik on some level bc he's a musician and he gets her -- "but...but...what will society think? He makes me wanna do sooo much with him beyond singing, because that voice! 🔥🔥🔥" ) Like I said...sooo much commentary possible...😅
God I feel so so blessed to have seen Ramin live 🥹💕

He totally understood the assignment when it comes to bringing out the sensuality of the Phantom! Oof! **Le sigh** 😍 But John Owen-Jones is right on par there, too...and he's recorded "Music of the Night" in his native Welsh, which hits my ears as a call to the Fae realm. 😍🧚♀️
I haven’t watched a live musical in so long. This reignited my excitement for them 👏🏼
Both of the Les Mis clips brought me to tears.

That Les Miserables One day more literally sent me to heaven. That was absolutely heavingly.
thank you sm for the Anastasia and hunchback appreciation especially quartet at the ballet it’s so underrated 😭

This is an amazing compilation!! Thank you for this. My favourite will always be Ramin Karimloo! So effortless! So much passion!! Ugh he just brings so much to the character of the Phantom
10th Anniversary Les Mis was just beautiful!
A video that give me chills is from The Great Comet of 1812, In my house. That song itself is so tense, I can never listen to it without getting chills
living in Belgium I don't really get the opportunity to go see musicals... But in 2019 I lived in Cambridge for 3 months and went to see The Lion King and Mamma Mia at the West End, I was blown away by both!!!
Not me crying during “he lives in you” because it’s one of my fave Disney songs of all time from my fave Disney movie of all time (my number one fave is “we are one” but “he lives in you” is a close second)
I knew this was gonna be a good video when the first clip was of Aaron Tveit lol

Wow - what a great compilation! I teared up at 'He Lives In You' because I once put on a production of The Lion King with an old class of mine and those memories are very dear to me, particularly as I no longer teach. Also, the first clip is something special. I've watched it about 20 times in this sitting alone!
MY GOD...truly legendary compilation 👏zero notes, utter perfection 😍
Hunchback is absolutely amazing. It's easily the best Disney movie musical stage adaptation and doesn't get nearly enough credit or publicity. I didn't really know what to think when we got tickets and left blown away. I will go see it again in a heartbeat if it comes back.
Many performances I enjoyed growing up and currently. Great compilation!
Every single moment of this video is pure gold
I literally had goosbumps with every song- One Day More killed me though, having teary eyes turned into crying
Brilliant work here, Granger Danger! Powerful potent punch, music theatre concentrate...tis an opus of merit! Peace be with you...Lukerdog
Gosh, this is what I love good theater for!! Nothing beats the feeling of performing along these kinds of stunning actors and freaking crying for them when they rock the show 😅 I got so many chills watching this, I’m literally still cold, amazing video!!
This video has forever altered my brain chemistry.
Thank you so much for posting this. Greatly appreciated. 😊
Literally so beautiful. Saw the production 2 times on Broadway. Keep singing ❤️
Awesome choices! Some of these I got to see live and I'm so lucky I did. The energy is so strong when you are there. I wish I could have seen more of these live
the Phantom song is the song my competitive chorus is doing as their contest ballad and believe me when I say that song is hard, and beautiful and people cry on the risers every rehearsal, it's taxing and hats off to the actor who played the character for an amazing performance
adding the 25th anniversary of Phantom of the Opera was the boldest move ever, something i’d add would be 38 Planes from Come from Away.. it’s worth being here oh my gosh! great choices :)
Appreciate you for taking the time to make this. Brilliant start to a day.
Of course it opens with Aaron Tveit
The moments that got me the most off the top of my head was "Heart of Stone" from Hunchback and "The World Was Wide Enough" in Hamilton, and "And I am Telling You" from Dreamgirls

I was worried you weren't going to include Hadestown. Also, great name. I know a fellow Starkid fan when I see one.
this is actually a really good line up and i am so happy i watched this
this was so good I started crying, I don't think anyone close to me will ever understand what theatre does to my soul
Glad the 5th Ave's production of Hunchback made the list. EJ and Josh were STUNNING to watch every night from the choir balcony. ❤❤❤ Such a gift to be a small part of this production.
