I loved the movie when I heard they were making a ninjago movie based on of the first lego movie and batman movie I new the ninja were going to look different and they were going to be recasted because that is what Hollywood does with these kind of show people obviously you don't know how Hollywood works of course they're not going to bring the original show voice actors because people who don't know nothing about Ninjago there not going to know who you people are and why they should watch it for example Dwayne Johnson people go see movies with him in it just for the rock not for the movie its self for example Michael Pena is a funny actor of course people are going to watch a movie with him in it

I don’t mind Aspheera, but her whole “You deceived me” thing sort of twisted me. Correct me if this is wrong. She let Wu and Garmadon out of their cell in exchange for learning Spinjitzu. Ok cool. They let her out, Wu taught her Spinjitzu. He did this before he knew about the Forbidden Scrolls. She asked for friendship, and he made her promise to never use Spinjitzu for evil. She broke her promise to him and did just that, then claims that Wu deceived her when he used one of the scrolls against her. Wu literally states “I didn’t deceive you. I just didn’t show you everything.” That literally says that he kept his side of the deal. So Aspheera claiming that Wu betrayed her seems a little backwards to me. Let me know if I got any of that wrong. I still think Aspheera is better than the Vermilion Warriors though.

@@enderman776 Wu only played an antagonist role in the first episode of the Ice Chapter when he was trying to get the tea back from the ninja. Aside from that, he was never thought of as a villain.

I do believe that Aspeera wasn’t truly deceived, and she was definitely in the wrong. However it seems that SHE genuinely thought that she was being deceived. She had likely intended for Wu and Garmadon to teach her everything about spinjitzu and then when she learned Wu knew something he hadn’t even mentioned to her, she thought HE had been breaking the deal the entire time.

When I found out that ninjas would get new designs, I was just shocked. At the beginning, I refused to watch Season 8 but then I somehow got into it (I wanted to know what happened with Wu :) and now I got used to it. I wonder how much of a hair gel Kai uses for his hair

Same too but there are a few things I refuse to forgive about the redesigns, 1 Kai's new hair I much prefer the old hair the new one just doesn't sit right with me, 2 the removal of Jay's eyebrow scar that was one of my favorite features of him, 3 Cloaked Zane the new design just doesn't work with that look for me other than that the new designs don't bother me as much

The thing I like least about the show was how they dealt with jay’s intelligence. He went from an absent minded inventor and engineer to an absolute idiot. His engineering skill were basically replaced by Nya’s and then forgotten about.

I agree! Especially when the Hagemen brothers left, Jay lost a lot of his funny hysterical outbursts during stressful situations. Not just that but he also used to have a level of sarcasm and sass that I though was super funny, but after season 10 he just became too silly and kinda dumb (sry abt the mini rant I’m just defending my fav character 😂)

I actually liked Aspheera. Her design was cool and we rarely get female villians. And her motivations might have been weird but remember she was stuck in a prison for 1000 years, she probably got mental after so much time.

I actually did leave Ninjago after seeing how they changed their appearance. I really did not like how they looked with some exceptions, Kai, Cole, and Lloyd, I actually kinda liked. I left it for a while though, and right now I’m rewatching the whole show, just got to season 11

After the hands of time season, I stopped watching the show (after watching the movie of course). Back in April of 2022, I was bored out of my mind and decided to watch the first episodes of season 1. Afterwards I binged the whole show, and yesterday I finished seabound. This morning I watched the 12 episodes of crystallized that are currently out and I’m enjoying it

@@Zane1248 skybounds my favorite season, but there are some thing I don’t like: 1. I wish the sky pirates and the ninja had some more interactions 2. The prison arc held back skybound 3. The nadakahn fight was pretty underwhelming 4. I wish everyone remembered skybound, but the original ending still works.

It’s like in China and Japan‘s history the fallen student, stone army, ghosts, pirates, snake like people, realms and every humongous creatures

On the topic of the golden Ninja, I've loved the since I first saw them and I want a season with that aesthetic damn it! I just love golden ninja. But in terms of design, why would you want old suits in gold? Yes having the very first costumes and maybe rebooted would've been neat, but every other costume is a variation of the ZX suits, which we already had a golden ninja for and since the mask and shoulder pads are the only parts of the costume that really stand out since the legs and torso are new prints, would like four slight varients on the ZX suits really be good? Besides with suits like Coal's and Jay's I love the design and gold works really well with the slightly unusual mask designs. That's just my take, tho I am disappointed Nya didn't get a gold mask piece, sad times

I get why they couldn’t adapt older suits for the Golden ninja. They probably don’t have the molds to make the old masks anymore Also I’ll admit, when I was younger, I left ninjago for a while because of the design changes. But I came back to rewatch and was blown away by the Oni trilogy. I’m glad I came back. Hope the show can hit those same heights again

4:28 Skybound is personally my favorite season ending out of all 15 seasons, it's just so beautifully and masterfully done, from the scene where Flintlocke shoots Nadakhan to Nya's death and then to Nya and Jay hugging and the end shot of Stiix with the temple on the horizon. And it just makes total sense, Nadakhan was such a powerful villain that it took an impossible move to rectify what he had done.

IKR!! I don’t understand its hate. The fact Jay didn’t even intentionally use that as his final wish makes it more beautiful. He was just crying and pouring his heart out cause of Nya dying! And like Lloyd said, it was said from the heart! The fact that his final wish was an accident but exactly what he needed is just beautiful and I LOVE that Jay and Nya are the only ones to remember because it gives the couple something personal that no one else knows

Personally, I love Ninjago. It’s got me into my hobby of Lego building. Despite all its controversies, I’ve always loved the show, the action adventure, the storytelling, and the sets. I’ve honestly had a lot of faith in the show, so I’ve never thought about or would ever think about leaving it. Personally, I am going to stay in Ninjago fan for as long as it goes.

I didn’t like his green eyes at first but after reading way of the departed I don’t really mind

Cartoon Network never gave up Ninjago but the other shows did

Like Ninjago city was saved but the tragic of Zane haunted the ninjas two days in the city until they begin fighting and arguing terrible than usual and that terrible tragedy destroyed the team though they lived in separate ways not saying another word to each other

i didn't have a problem with the new designs. I was a little confused at first but adapted quickly, especially since the season as SO GOOD. as for the movie, i thought it was fine, not great but not terrible, the only thing about it was i kept yelling "why is Cole a DJ!!!!???" every time he was on screen haha. That was honestly the most confusing thing to me. also Lloyds mom being different.

I actually like the redesigns, I find them to be more detailed and less 'toy-like'. I especially like the changes to the hair styles on the ninja. Kai's hair looks less like a thorn bush and I love that nya's weird bob cut thing is gone.

I don't know, i always found Nyas bob cut a recognizable asset to her character design. Now her hair is the same as Skylar's and P.I.X.A.L.'s. Though i also miss Jays eyebrow split. I'm fine with all the other design change choices but for some reason j really miss that part of jay and nya

My cousin (who was a big ninjago fan) dropped the show entierly after he saw the new designs in song of garmadon. I even dropped the show for a while, but i came back after hearing about how amazing sons of garmadon was. And it became one of my favorite seasons. Its amazing how they made Cole (who i didnt really care much about) into one of my favorite characters in fiction with just one amazing scene. A scene with just two lego figures talking about greif on the top of a mountain. The scene didn't matter to me at first, but after a while it really resonated with me. How come we have a show which at first just seems like a commercial for selling Lego. We have a scene with two PEOPLE talk about something as mature as how people cope with loss. Thats not something a child would pick up on. That's what makes ninjago great. It says a lot when a show with so much action and fights makes the smaller moments more memrobale for older audiences.

I actually liked the redesigns. The only one that took some time to get used to was Wu because his mouth went from 3D to 2D but even still I didn't think it was bad, I was just so used to seeing it the same way for so long. Also Zane's hair is a little weird just because the sides don't go down as far and it sorta makes it look like it's shaved and maybe that's what they were going for but again it grew on me.

the fact that people actually dropped ninjago because of the new designs is ridiculous to me. Even if you've been into the show since the beginning, the plot and storyline is what makes the show, the designs shouldn't mater as much. Can't believe people are still angry about them to this day.

I think Skybound's ending is amazing tbh. It's more creative and logical then lazy

I've been a fan since the beginning and in many ways it helped fill the hole in my heart left by the ending of Bionicle, another massive theme I was a huge fan of since the beginning. I liked the change to the movie designs. They just have much more personality and individualism and Sons of Garmadon was one of the best seasons of the show. It's just crazy to me that Ninjago has eclipsed Bionicle.

I was shocked when I found out that Cole wasn't the leader of the Ninja when I first watched the show. At that point I had read that Cole was the leader but then again, the thing didn't bother me too much.

I liked most of the new face designs except for Kai pretty much, I’m fine with it now, it fits, he’s older now, he’s been through a lot so it’s not surprising he would have scars. Also, Nya’s new hair style threw me for a loop, I mean I like it now, it just that it was so different when I first saw it. Other than that, I really automatically fell in love with jay’s fluffy hair which definitely suits him better, and Lloyd’s hair makes him look older, as it should. Cole’s hair stayed mostly the same, it just got longer so I like it. Zane turned into metal rather than appear human which I feel connects him more to pixel and I like that for their relationship. Also, I would never leave the fandom just because of a few design changes, they get older, some of them took a bit of getting used to but I will always love Ninjago.

I was actually excited for the new designs, I actually loved them. I feel they did a good job I feel there somewhat better than the original to me, even Jay. I like his freckles

If I'm not mistaking the movie saved Ninjago,if I'm not mistaking around 2017 Ninjago was dying,it was losing popularity,even the people working at the show started to work on a possible ending,but the movie brought a lot more fans to Ninjago,and Ninjago started to grow in popularity,but I'm not sure

@@burner555 Saved ninjago so it could become nothing but a shell of its former glory. S8 and 9 focused to much on lloyd but were OK. S11-13 are utter trash compared to the OGs. They butchered Kai's character, Kicking OG kai fans in the face. I just hope things get better

As a long-time fan of Ninjago, I'm happy "Day of the Departed" was a special.

i love the sons of garmadon face rigs idk why it just makes them more expressive

i remember not having watched any of rebooted and I had gone to cartoon network while the last 2 episodes or something were about to air, fortunately the recap caught me up to speed on what was going on.

I do not understand why fans insist the redesigns _"ruined the characters"_ . If we remove everything else we are left with designs *_for_* a character, *_not_* a character themselves. We aren't even dealing with racial or (back)story purposes or "refashioning children's fictional characters as unnecessarily eDgY/gOth" issues. Scars fade, hair dye and hair extensions exist, so do curlers, you can artificially fill things in, I'm confident you can gain freckles from sun exposure, your bodies are constantly changing, puberty is a development for all, being a Nindroid modifications are a piece of [Cole's] cake, need I say more? Not to mention the loss of their teacher/family member (biological in Lloyd's case) could've affected their mentality - certainly did with Cole: he swore off _cake_ for crying out loud! Remember guys, there *_is_* a difference between merely disliking the redesigns and stating they ruined our ninja like it is a well-established fact. One is subjective and the other is presented objectively nine times out of ten.

Lloyd is an upgrade, Kai and Cole are decent, Nya is ok, Jay(I hate how they ruined my favorite one by adding him freckles and removing his scar) and Zane, the worst one, the human form looks terrible in every way and the robot form just needs a change of his hairpiece

I remember being shocked and curious at the same time when I saw the new designs. After a while, I started to like them even more than the old ones tbh...

"How dare they, how dare they harm the minds of my child" Tanner impersonating a parent.

I felt like the reason the golden ninja look that way because after the big redesign the golden ninja have the suits of their newest season because Jay has the prime empire and Cole having the master mountain one. Also, if you look at Golden Kai’s armor pieces the same ( except golden) with the season 11 which was partially his season. And if you look at the concept art his is the forbidden spinjitzu suit which was referencing his time with the scroll. Apparently Nya and Lloyd’s suits probably look like the season 14 and 15 suits

I really like skybound's ending,is really good,it would be really hard to continue the show with an older lloyd,with Nya dead,and Ninjago city destroy,and a lot more stuff,at the end Jay's and Nya's development is still there ,and thanks to the ending we have some amazing seasons,like season 8,9 and season 13,but everyone has a different opinion,and some people don't like it,and that's fine

I actually really enjoyed that cuz seeing the ninjas use different fighting styles after so many season of the same, for me even boring, stuff was really refreshing and looked specifically cool with the better animation.

i actually got exited when i saw the ninjas new design i felt it was needed And the movie was actually my motivation to watch the series and i knew it had separated storylines so like both of them

The Skybound ending was pretty cool imo seeing as it strengthened the bond between Jay and and Nya further since they were the only ones who remember the events of the season (You can tell as in a scene in a later season, the ninja visit the commissioner's office who says something like "What now? Lava Zombies?! Pirate Genies?!" To which the ninja are confused with Jay and Nya looking at each other showing that they're the only ones who remember the events of Skybound).

I love skybound, I like the ending of it cause Nya would be dead, Lloyd would still be old, Zane lost pixal and the falcon, and ninjago would fall. It lowkey hurts knowing clancee, dog shank and flintlocke are still is different realms

I live in the UK and watched season 13. But I do believe CN's airing schedule for Ninjago is pretty messed up

i actually really liked the SOG designs, new ninja outfits were great and they explained why they changed well. lloyd and nya definitely needed changes and Cole and Jay were a pleasant suprise.

I like Day of the Departed. But now that you mention the idea of it being stretched into a full season, I feel like it could’ve been done better that way in retrospect.

The only ninjago thing that made me mad was the movie! I was very mad at them for changing the voice actors. But after I watched it, I didn't mind it that much. I still had my issues with it but it wasn't bad. The design changes in the show I just attributed to time travel. I'm kinda surprised he didn't talk about changing Lloyd's voice actor. That didn't make me mad but it took me longer to get used to then the design changes.

I remember seeing the first sons of garmadon episode and left the show entirely until recently, came back and i love season 8+

I think that if they made the old ninjago suits they would look to similar to each other unless they used rebooted styles but that’s really it while the new seasons have more unique styles.

I wish one of the ninja would be a villain instead of creating more snake villains...

A lot of people really hated "The LEGO Ninjago Movie" and the new designs that were carried over into the TV series from Season 8 onwards. Personally, I loved the movie and the new designs even if I have been a Ninjago fan since the very beginning.

As much as I didn’t like the movie, and missed the old designs after season 8 came out, I have gotten used to these new designs, and while I don’t think they’re better, they are kinda cool

i honestly like the new designs! i think they are really good, and i hated how lloyd looked before, and now he looks way better. one thing i dont like is that jay is a bit to goofy now, he used to be funny, but could get serious when he needed to, but now he is just always goofy even when it isn't appropriate.

I did think about it when the new designs drop but I controlled my anger

I'm worried about the possible decision to recast cole because If they do, I just know the community will start hating on the new actor.

I don't think so. In fact, he actually got a lot of support from the Community. They have a lot of faith in him, that he'll live up to Kirby.

Here are my thoughts on the opinions: 10. I do agree that it was an issue and I have to be honest, it's actually why I stopped watching Ninjago around 2014, not because I didn't like the show, but because I didn't know when it came on because of the scheduling and I kind of just forgot to watch it altogether. Last year, I actually went and watched all the seasons though! 9. I actually like Day of the Departed! I know it's kind of short, but I liked Cole having a focus in this special and also him becoming a human again. I also really liked seeing all the villains come back and it was nice to see Morro being a redeemed character, especially after his end in Season 5. Overall, a nice special to watch for me! 8. As much as Rebooted is one of my favorite seasons, the love triangle is a big problem I have with it. Jay and Nya clearly liked each other from the start and I ship it. I thought it was silly that Nya felt stuck between Jay and Cole just because a machine told her about Cole being perfect for her. Not only did Nya and Cole not really interact before that, but it was also confirmed that Cole didn't have feelings for Nya like that, he was just confused of the attention she was giving him. I'm also just not a fan of love triangles in general because I find them cliché and annoying. I also just didn't like seeing Jay and Cole fight like that and I found it unnecessary. 7. I really like Skybound and I liked the ending! It was interesting how one move helped prevent that whole season from happening and I agree with the video; a lot of the events needed to be reversed because of what happened just before it, like how Nya was dying. I didn't really find it lazy at all. 6. I'm kind of neutral on this one because I don't have any of the Lego sets. I just like to watch the show, but I can understand where the fans are coming from. 5. I can see the point here, but I don't mind the snake villains. I do like how the past few seasons had different kinds of villains besides more snake ones (aside from Aspheera). However, I'm not a fan of Aspheera. I thought she was kind of a bland character and I didn't find her interesting or a very good villain. 4. The first two seasons are my favorite seasons and I liked how they wrapped the story up by the end of Season 2, yet also leaving the door open for potential seasons and while I do love how it ended, I'm really glad that Ninjago was allowed to continue because it is so awesome and we keep getting more and more great stories! 3. I'm not really a fan of the movie. I found the movie to be kind of boring to watch, most of the characters were bland and forgettable and the story was kind of cliché and not very interesting to me. The voice actors were alright though. I prefer the show a lot more, but I'm glad that some people still enjoyed it. 2. Season 11 is my least favorite season for a lot of the same reasons as everyone else, although this is more in the Fire Chapter. I didn't mind the new animation from WildBrain or the anime parts and I liked how each of the main characters had some focus throughout the season, but I did feel like it was trying too hard to be funny and the filler was boring and unnecessary. Also like I said before, I didn't really care for Aspheera and thought she was bland as a villain and character. The Ice Chapter was a lot better with the story being more interesting, cutting down on the filler for the most part, and the new characters being more developed and likable overall. My only real issue was that the ending felt a little rushed. 1. I actually don't mind the new designs and I'm happy with either the old or new designs for the characters. I like how the show was able to fit it into the story with the one line in the beginning of Season 8. I'm not always for changes like that, but this one was definitely an exception.

The channel that has ninjago in my country we get episodes everyday episodes and they always come around 7.30 + they are re-runs on tv

As someone who has been apart of the ninjago fandom since 2011 since i was 5 (it came out two months before my 6th birthday) i have to say i agree with ALL of these controversies and ALL of your opinions on them

Ultra Violet somehow pulling a street lamp from the ground and wielding it as if it was a staff. lack of spinjitzu, elemental powers and sudden disappearance of airjitzu and elemental dragons. (although these were "explained" by Tanner in their respected videos) and what still astonishes me the most til this day is how a team of elemental masters who are notorious for fighting off armies of enemies *_multiple times_* got disabled by a group of thugs on motorcycles. just to name a few.

I may not be a fan of season 11 but I've grown okay with it. Still cannot watch The Absolute Worst and I wish they hadn't gone for the overly human 2D style for the "anime" episodes, but it's gotten better with more viewings. Great to see all these controversies and I am so happy I came around in the middle of season 11 so I could experience both the pre season 8 era, the post movie era, and now the season 11 and beyond era XD. I'm in it till the end and probably beyond!

The Ninjago community on Twitter is the worst. They start drama over the smallest thing.

i myself dont particularly care about the redesigns. appearance is something that i dont particularly think about when it comes to new seasons and as long as the plot is just able to work well and maybe the characters changes can serve somewhat as a plotline in the story itself (like lloyd's green eyes going black meaning he lost his powers) then im fine with changes

honestly because after season 7, a year passed in ninjago so its no surprise that some design change would happen lmao

When I first saw the "anime" ninja I was like, what in the world, this isn't ninjago, and I didn't like it, and I still don't like it that much.

Skybound’s ending made me put skybound at 7 on my ranking

I had left the fandom at the start of hands of time. Not cause it was bad but at that time I had grown out of it and looked at other fandoms but after quite a few years I've started watching again and am now on sons of garmadon.
