Not sure if it’s an animation error or an audio error but I remember rewatching Ninjago and in the pilot and a few episodes of S1 some ninjas spoke with one of the others voice

Yeah that was back when they were first getting started, they weren't quite in tune with the animation yet. As a result The voice lines got messed up.

@@timebomb42 Yeah, it's as though the animators can't understand English (the lip-syncing is done with the English Language dub in mind, there); and so communication is *_bound_* to break down at some point between the English Language dub's voice actors and the animators - just like it is the case with other Western (English-speaking world) animation in being done overseas (i.e. South Korea, China or Taiwan).

In S5 ep 8 when Morro is chasing jay, right before Jay says 'He's attacking an unarmed man!!!' you can see he has his aeroblade when they were supposed to have been left in rex.

8:19 this is not a mistake, this is an animation technique called used very commonly in Lego animations, especially with the Lego movies, it’s called a smear frame, and it became very common in newer seasons of ninjago. As an animator, we oftentimes add an extra arm for a single frame to give the movement a bit more impact

Honestly i dont think it is a smear frame because i recently watched this episode and this scene goes in slow motion so a sec arm being there when the first arm is way further up is just a mistake i believe

At the beginning of “Never trust a human”, you can see Lloyd’s hair in the left of that shot. Except Lloyd wasn’t present at that moment, and was in the city with Zane and Nya.

nobody is perfect, but these errors just make no sense to me this is a full-time job for the animators, which means that its almost impossible for them to make these mistakes "accidentally" like, how can the animator forget which model should they use for a scene when they already used it for 10 others?? I think they realised it, but then decided that its not that important and moved on XD Its hard to understand how can errors like these happen without having any experience

Bro, the show is made by a bunch of animators, and everyone works in different shots, it's not like they forget rather than they're not informed properly, specially when the directors don't specify which suit should be used, i guess a bunch of times they were told " this shot has zane and kai" and so they use the whatever model they think is right because nobody corrected them

8:19 that just looks like a smear frame. Smear frames get confused for animation errors all the time but they are intentional. Smear frames normally have duplicated or distorted body parts to show quicker movements in less frames.

Its pretty common when its supposed to be very fast movements, i remember shows like avatar using that

I swear I'm glad Zane's hand is in the way I don't want to see his face while he's bald

There are so many instances in season one where someone is speaking with the wrong voice (mainly Cole switching with Jay or Kai, vise versa)

The biggest mistakes I remember were when Cole’s voice would be recorded over the other ninja sometimes, examples: Kai in “Rise of the Snakes” Jay in “Wrong Place, Wrong Time” Zane in “Temple of Light” It’s honestly kinda funny

I remember a mistake that happened S1 E9 or E10 when Wu came back eith garmadon and at the end Zane was talking about how the bird was programed to find the snakes or something, then they cut away for another shot and after it they came back and Wu started talking to Jay about how he said the bird was programed and Jay started explaining that at first he saw the bird so he followed him - which happened to Zane and not Jay

not really a mistake but it always bothered me when titanium zane would put up his hood and it would swap from his eyes to the strange technovision thing

The one at 8:20 isn't a mistake, it's intentional. It's called a smear-frame, and it helps animators make fast movement look smoother without adding more frames. Smear-frames are often mistaken as errors, but you don't notice them when everything's in motion.

​@@mememan1546thing is: this scene is in slow motion, so the exact opposite of very fast 😂 just watched it recently, didnt see the sec arm, but i do believe its an animation mistake because the movement it the scene is very slow

Also in season 8 episode 10 ( last ep of sons of Garmadon ) when Lloyd is waking up you can see that his eyes color is changing from black to green and again black for some seconds.

Yep, so annoying. I thought his body was kinda adjusting, but then, I had to admit it was a mistake.

Animation errors really show how it's truly made. The fact that they modeled the little stub on the head, when no characters have that feature, it's pretty interesting. The fact that there are so many cases where they are wearing the wrong suit suggests that they have a repository of them at the ready. And Cole appearing in his deepstone shoulder pads at least twice (second case shown slightly 2 errors later) shows that the rigs they use for the suits always have shoulder pads.

Now I'm having a hard time remembering, did Lloyd ever have an actual Green Kimono Suit in the show? I remember he never got one in the actual Lego sets. That figure instead came in a DK book some time later, just as Lloyd would get a Green DX suit in a Bricktober box set figure 4 pack.

There’s a few times in Rebooted where Lloyd appears to be wearing his stone armor suit before they get the armor in the temple of fortitude at the end, that’s another one that’s always bothered me.

I always assumed that was because when the overlord drained his golden power, his suit turned silver because the gold got taken

That's not an error tho, the animators intentionally did that to make it clear that Lloyd doesn't have Golden Power anymore, though it doesn't really make sense storywise

This is so fun, indeed; it is one of the best episodes ever, in my opinion, but that "wind" always makes me feel bad.

Once in season 8, at the scene, where ninjas were chasing mr. E, Cole was there, even thought he was with Zane investigating the sons of garmadon. He even got kidnapped.

I remember when they used to have the wrong voices, It happened to everyone but it feels like they mixed up coles and kais voices the most. They did this in some of the most important moments too. Kai talks almost entirely in coles voice during the green ninja prophecy reading of ep 1. Kai says NINJAGOOO as cole in the temple of fire right before his true potential Cole speaks in kais voice in the very first scene of s1 ep 1 Cole speaks as kai in the scene where lloyd gets grown up and then theres also zane speaking as cole in the temple of light jay speaking as cole when he says "look pal were the guys who just saved the city from a giant snake"

One that I noticed that’s never in any of the videos is that in season 3 when Cole is walking down the sewer ladder his gloves disappear for a second and then come back

Also, in Prime Empire, there is one scene, where Scott has no legs

Definitely a sneaky one but in the pilot season, episode 2 when the ninja are confronted by the skulkin army with Samukai aproaching them, if you look to the left of the screen after about two or three camera changes it seems the ninja ran right past him, Samukai is only shown for about a second or two. I think the Ninjago animators leave errors in sometimes as it’s almost secret hunting. Some are obvious while others aren’t, it’s fun findjng little errors as a pass-time

worst mistake in ninjago wasnt an animation error. It was making it take place super far in the future in season 3

I don't know if this is a mistake, because it happens consistently for a couple episodes, but in some of the later episodes of Rebooted, you see Lloyd with the Stone Armour suit multiple times in a few episodes before they officially debuted.

My favourite mistake is Jay the Master of Wind.

In Season 8 Lloyd chanched often his eyecolor from szene to szene randomly.

The most common mistakes of LEGO Ninjago could be their voices mixing up, which also happens in LEGO Friends.

Honestly suit swapping is so weird like I want to know how that even happens.

5:05 I always thought that wasn’t an error and just Jay looking around Kai’s room without moving his head.

Here are is a extra.... At the end of island, when nya was talking with dwayne, her shoulder pad wasnt there.

While some mistakes are hard to notice, one mistake that is present a few times in the Ninjago series is when they do not move their mouths when they speak. This is noticeable in Season 2: Episode 8 The Day Ninjago Stood Still. In the scene where Dareth asks where the Destiny's Bounty is, Misako says "Look" while pointing at the bounty. However, her mouth does not move. The same error is present in the scene from Season 5: Episode & The Crooked Path where Wu asks Misako for a ride on his dragon. When he says "Care for a ride?", his mouth does not move. This is an example of a very noticeable mistake to those who watch Ninjago for a long time.

Most of the costume errors actually make sense in canon. Do you throw out your old clothes whenever you get a new shirt? Wouldn't the the ninja have most of their old suits in their closest and pull them out whenever they're in a hurry. Maybe they weren't paying attention or maybe their new suits had blood or dirt on them.

There's also many voicing errors where you hear the voice of one character but then on screen a different character is appeto be talking and its weird especially in the pilot

2:07 Its odd, I am pretty sure we've never seen the top stud of characters in ninjago

In the very first episode of season one when Cole tells master Wu :we can train tomorrow you can clearly hear Vincent Tong saying the line it’s kinda similar to in season two were Jay tells Darith look pal we’re the guys who just took down that giant snake.

The one thing that always Intrigued me from when I was a kid till now was when someone was talking but it came out of a different characters mouth

I did not know all of this when I was younger!

There is another mistake in Possession. When the ninja are in the maze in the FSM's tomb, Jay is seen with his aeroblade on his back for a shot while being chased by Morro even though they left them in R.E.X..

Great, now I'm gonna see these whenever I rewatch Ninjago lol

That one with Lloyd having the zx suit instead of the kimono suit I thought he just never got a new suit when I first seen it

Decided to rewatch the whole ninjago series in my 20s because as a kid I only got to see the first 2 and half season because it was on TV only every saturday and it felt like I saw a lot more than I really did since there is 16 seasons of the original and I totally forgot about all these mistakes and I thought they would stop doing these but as it seems its now a base feature of the series - funfact is that mistakes like using different voice actor got transfered into another language too. It was really weird when some characters suddenly spoke in totally different voice even in the re-dubbed version.

Tanner, there is one mistake I remember in Prime Empire when Lloyd got into the wheel, his shoulder pads disappeared. When he popped out of the wheel all dizzy his shoulder pads somehow reappeared.

2:10 the heck they do my boy Zane!?

In season 2 idk what episode but jay is delivering pizza when he goes under the truck, his helmet disappears and reappears

Man I remember back in 2015 when I was trying to spot every instance ghost cole was seen with pauldrons

all of these mistakes slipped by me every time I watched these episodes

7:49 I thought that was part of the show and I got extremely confused back then.

Yes, in the final battle in Season 5, alot of the ghosts just clip out in a single frame instead of their water burst animation.

There were several line mix ups of the characters, I’m rewatching it currently and have already found like 10-15ish mistakes and I’m only barely halfway thru season 2

The one I really noticed was in Seabound when Kalmaar shot Master Wu, he was supposed to be on the ground but as it swipes over you can see him fighting a serpent, then it goes to Kai(?) picking him up 🤨

I love how so many of these mistakes are things that would occur if they had been doing it in real life with a kid's collection, coming back every day to continue animating but the kid played with them so a piece is missing or got swapped. :P

This isn't exactly an animation error, and I don't remember the exact episodes or seasons, but there were SEVERAL TIMES I noticed that the wrong voice actor voiced a certain characters lines, i.e. Cole's voice actor saying Jay's lines with Jay being animated to speak.

He's right about the shoulder pads I just watched the episode and they vanished

There’s another one When the ninja leave ronins pond shop where Zane said “now we gotta figure out how to make some money.” after negotiating for the scroll in season 5 all the ninja have there shoulder pads before they got their deep stone suits

I remember in the tournament of elements season while kai, jay and cole were on the bridge waiting for the boat Jay said the line "Aw i told you we shouldn't have worn them" but kais mouth is the one thats moving

It does make sense that Cole has deep stone armor as a ghost because morrow demonstrated in the last episodes of season 5 that ghosts can possess another ghost

I noticed that one where lloyd had his golden shoulder pads greengold uniform and golden backring. It changed to silver and back.

In rebooted episode 6 (Codename: Arcturus) Lloyd is constantly wearing the stone armour but he doesn't have it yet

Some of these mistakes are just so simple and in the background or only last for like a second

There was that time when Cole got kidnapped in S8 and randomly joined the others in chasing after his own kidnappers.

Does anyone remember in s3 when Lloyd wore his stone armour suit from episode 6 to 8, before he got it! In episode 6, he had his correct suit for one scene and then never wore it again!

I found a small animation mistake on season 8 episode 10 at the part where Lloyd wakes up his eyes are black for the first bit but then the next part they are green even though he doesn’t have his powers and this mistake always bothered me for some reason

The part with Zane and nya without their hair I’ve never noticed that

so, we can definitively answer that yes, Ninjago characters do actually have the stud.

Have you ever noticed how most lego characters in the shows/movies always have hair piece? This is because if lego decided to make someone bald, it would look weird because on the thing on the top of their head

The thing that always would be bothered me the most was there voices on different characters

That zane one was- scary to say the least 😅

The other shurikin is behind Moro you can barely see it in the space between his hand

I didn’t mind the season 9 animation error cause I really didn’t care since it was gonna be a touchy scene with or without the error

zane in "rise of the ultimate spinjitsu master" when the evil ninja were looking up, somehow zane was evil

There's a mistake in the first episode of possession when morrow's dragon is attacking the bounty sensei Wu's outfit keeps changing from back and fourth from his season 1 outfit and season 5 outfit

I feel like Zane should’ve been the green ninja and Lloyd should’ve taken his place as the ice ninja

there’s a mistake in sons of garmadon where, when lloyd loses his powers, yknow how his eyes turn black? then a couple of shots after they turn back green, then black, then green

FUN FACT: JAY HAVING WIND POWER IS NOT A MISTAKE, THAT WAS INTENTIONAL AND IT SAYS SO IN SOME OF THE NINJAGO COMICS. HOWEVER, DUE TO WANTING MORRO TO HAVE WIND POWER, THEY TOOK WIND AWAY FROM JAY.

Me and my sister sometimes play a game of "spot the wrong ninja voice" when sometimesfor instance Kai is speaking but it's Cole's voice lol

You also forgot in season 6 when Lloyd’s hair disappears when he wearing the Fedora.
