Yes! That’s what I’ve been thinking haha cause I can give a whole minimum 5 page essay explaining why Lloyd has mentally changed the most and it’s not because I’m biased that Lloyd is my favorite character which he isn’t. ( Jay is my #1) But I can go on for hours talking about his evolution and I’m glad someone has noted that. And I think Lloyd has mentally changed true most because he has had the most…how would you call it…? He’s had the most events that can traumatize a regular person. Like growing up without any parents (Kai and Nya didn’t have any either but it wasn’t by choice and they both came back normal ) only to find out his mother was out god knows where and could’ve been with him. So then Lloyd has no family in the start until the ninja find him. The ninja was his first family and practically raised him. And of course he got RIPPED away from his childhood! Like childhoods help us figure out who we are as a person, it determines who we are but Lloyd didn’t have that chance while everyone else did. So this results in his life only knowing how to be a ninja, at a mental young age he was forced to combat problems that the rest of the ninja face but with pressure to be the best because he is the green ninja while still a mental child. In any other movie this could’ve resulted in him becoming some cold blooded killing machine but he’s the opposite. And then he finds out he has to fight his evil father yada yada then gets his father back in his normal state. BUT NOPE LLOYD CANT STAY HAPPY AND THEY TAKE HIS DAD AWAY AGAIN. (Not to mention his mom appears back outta nowhere trying to validate why she abandoned him. And then had to deal with her lowkey flirting with HIS UNCLE AND MASTER) And season 8 just topped the cake. Since Lloyd is now like officially mentally older guy feelings towards girls are natural right? WELL HE HAD TO FIND SOME EVIL BACK STABBING MANIPULATING WRENCH as his first love. AND THAT EVIL WRENCH BOUGHT BACK HIS WORST FEAR: the fear of him becoming his father. How is this shown? Harumi blamed Lloyd as the reason her parents and others died. She made Lloyd look like the bad guy. She made HiM sEeM lIkE tHe ViLlaiN and his evil dad the good guy: this is reversing roles where Lloyd is like his dad aka villain, and GARMADON is like Lloyd aka savoir. Anyways not only she brought his worst fear upon him SHE BROUGHT BACK HIS EVIL DAD WHO NOW US TRYING TO KILL HIM. He then almost gets BEATEN TO DEATH by his dad. And his dad makes it seem like he doesn’t care about no one including his son YET HE REPLACES LLOYD WITH HARUMI LIKE WHAT??? and then and then and then HE THINKS ALL OF HIS FRIENDS AKA THE NINJA AND MASTER Wu (not Nya) GOT CRUSHED TO DEATH and he could’ve blamed it on him reacting based on emotions. Because if he didn’t follow his emotions and fall into Harumi’ strap and never had this whole crush on her, he could’ve maybe just maybe seen the truth. And again in any other movie this would’ve resulted in him turning to some COLD BLOODED KILLING MACHINE FOR VENGEANCE (even tho it’s a kid show hehe) but again he didn’t. So this ultimately taught him to never act based on emotion which is a valid lesson learned the hard way. And he’s not as trusting no more which was shown in season 13 (and must I bring back up Pythor WHICH USED THE SAME BACKSTABBING METHOD ON HIM) I think (Cole’s season) And of course he later finds out his friends went dead but imagine the pain he felt. Like the ninja raised him, they are his true and only family, they are his friends, they are his team. That’s gotta hurt. Amd then he gets to see the first spinjitsu master. And when he had to work together with his dad that just tried to kill him not so long ago he did it with maturity and not hatred or anything. Yeah..there’s just so much but I think it’s all on perspective. To someone else they might think I’m describing how he matured or bad stuff that happened to him only but I believe events change you, they mature you and make you wiser. And I would say Lloyd has the most events that could easily change a person. But not once did he let them change him for the worst. Like just imagine if Lloyd took Harumi’s offer and joined the sons of GARMADON and took his rightful throne as leader because HE IS HIS LITERAL BLOOOOD SON? That was just a thought but as I was saying this is why I believe Lloyd has mentally changed the most and is also why he’s become the most mentally strongestz

Kai is still a hotheaded fire boi, he has changed the least, while Nya is the perfect example of an underdog character who went from the background of the screen to the center of the screen.

Nya has been through the most and has changed the most.Her parents were kidnapped when she was really young and had to live without them for most of her life, which seems to form her independent personality today. She had to adjust to people telling her she couldn’t do what she wanted like being samurai x and her having to be the water ninja. She also proves overtime that she doesn’t need her brother or boyfriend to protect her. Overtime she has adapted to a more hothead personality like Kai in the older seasons. She shows that she would do anything to get one of her loved ones back in the second to last episode of season 15. Jay coughing’s really impacts the scene and Nya saying I wish we had more time together we never same to get a break, then kisses him on the forehead, walks out of the room turns back to say I love you one last time then merges with the sea. This is easily one of the best scenes in Ninjago history and unlike Zanes sacrifice put me into absolute breakdown.

I think Nya. She really learned to go with the flow. She learned to move on from being Samurai X and embrace her heritage and become the master of water. She also established that she is her own person. Not just Kai’s sister or Jay’s boyfriend. And she merged with the ocean, becoming the physical embodiment of the Endless Sea.

Hard to say , Lloyd went through a lot. He was betrayed by someone he liked, got trust issues which he still faces, after seeing his dead dad return from that realm who was unforgiving and didn't have any mercy , he was traumatised and when his friends were gone, he felt alone. Actually , I think that Lloyd just wanted his dad back. He is emotionally and mentally mature. So nya on the other hand, people didn't really give her the respect and attention in the older seasons. She was like a side character. Kinda. Kais sister and all and all. But then she did get focus and attention to what she really wanted. I really like the new nya. She gave up everything for jay. That people is development. In order to save Jay, she gave up herself so that he will be alive.

I think Jay's lack of change actually makes him a better character. After Skybound we know why he has to be the comic relief. His lack of change in a way shows us that he will always be that guy that lifts up the other Ninja. The guy who laughs and jokes in the face of danger to lighten up the mood. This makes Jay more than a 1 dimensional comedy type character.

Throughout this show, Lloyd and Nya are definitely the only ones that have changed the most.

I always hated how they took away jays slit eye brow because I’ve always had one since I was a kid and I was able to relate. It also doesn’t make since to how they can take away a characters attributes

I mean it kind of is Lloyd and nya for the top two ninjas that have changed the most, however Cole gets put at 3rd for me. Just because he went from being the leader, to being more of a background character, to becoming a ghost, to becoming human again with that weird scar thingy, and then being redesigned but still keeping most of his old trades. But those are just my thoughts.

I don't like how their power kinda got weaker after the model change I feel like Lloyd was more powerfull before than after the new models

Considering that Lloyd has his Oni form now, I think that he has changed the most.

I’d like to see the list done again now knowing that Lloyd has that sort of oni form as well, since that’s a pretty big change both physically and in terms of abilities/powers

one thing for sure, cole has become so much more lovable over the years, and I’m happy as I’ve been a huge fan of his character since day 1 since I relate to him

Kai went from being an acutely cool character that people liked to being the comic relief character.He has become less of a hot head but still.Hopefully the next season and give him some character development

I mean in the earlier seasons he had lots of development but not much after season 4.

My list: 1) Nya 2) Lloyd 3) Cole 4) Zane 5) Tie between Kai and Jay I had Zane lower than most people would expect, because he's been almost the same since season 4, and haven't really gotten that much character development since then. And I think Kai and Jay (and Zane too to an extent) had changes that made them a bit worse (saying this as those two are my favorite ninja). Hoping those three each get a focus season in the coming years.

Jay and Zane are definitely getting development, we barley know anything about their elemental ancestors and I think Jay will get more characters growth in seasons to come, coming to terms with his legitimate parents, alive or not.

I think Lloyd has changed the most. Not by apparence but how he is. When you look at how he used to be (do out he was bratty, we forgot why he wanted to follow his dad's footsteps: because Garmadon was the only one who cared about him back then, mum gave him up, uncle gave a shit what happens to him because he favoured bunch of strangers). Then he started showing his true colors which are more than good, went through several traumas, this kid REALLY NEDDS therapy, I'm surprised he's alive and kicking. Then Harumi's betrayal changed him from someone who believed in people to someone who always keeps his guard up

Cole deserves the 1st spot. :D In the original original story, the one with the Skulkin, he was the stoic and silent leader of the team. This is even described in the official books. Now look at him? He's the strong, simple guy with munchies.

I agree that Nya had the most changes and alot of these are accurate and i respect it! But in my opinion, i think jay has changed a bit more than mentioned. He doesnt have as much outbursts as before (though i did love those lol) and he seems to be more than just a comedy relief character as seen in Season 6 & Seabound

I think Jay changed less than Kai. Kai lost character traits over time, Jay just kinda stayed the same. Also, hot take, Jay was never that funny. In older seasons all he did was scream and freak out.

I personally love the freckles on Jay

I prefer the ninjas new looks too their old ones but I do miss jays eyebrow slit . Even though it's a small detail I felt like it was iconic to his character.

I would say Nya ranked first in most changed. I mean at the start of the show she was really smart, had a bob cut type of thing (I hated it) and she was Samurai X. But in the latest season she is more hotheaded, has a nice hairstyle (compared to her old one) AND she is some kind of ocean goddess type of thing and is kinda OP.

cole has a new voice actor now doesnt he, so that gives him a big change from earlier seasons

Lloyd went from 7 to like 20 witch suprised me when I watched the episode

Lyod has had the most change,he started as a innocent want to be villain to a the legendary green ninja

Nya will one day rebirth like the Phoenix

Being funny a bit Jay.

Physically, both Cole and Nya have been through similar arcs. However, in terms of personalities(and, by extent, physical traits), I'd have to go with Lloyd. He started as a brat in Rise of the Serpentine, grew up and obtained his Golden powers in Legacy of the Green Ninja, lost his father in The Tournament of Elements, became possessed in Possession, took up the mantle of Master in Hands of Time, and recently demonstrated his possession of Oni abilities as well as sympathy for Harumi, the same person who captured him, in Crystalized Part 2.

My ranking Nya: started normal, became samurai X, became water ninja and stopped being samurai X, became the FRICKING OCEAN and changed physically and mentally Lloyd: went from kid to adult got possessed changed physically and mentally Zane: turned into a robot and sometimes look like a human Cole: turned ghost and back to human Jay: physically and mentally Kai: physically and slightly mentally

To me loyed is a kid in a adults body

I feel like Jay changed the most as not only did his design see the most change, his personality shifted as well.

Lloyd has changed the most he went from evil bratty kid to the destined green ninja to the golden ninja to loses he’s golden power, and then taking a back seat and then hitting puberty and then getting turned by he’s alleged girlfriend and then fighting his dad again with no powers and they taking a back seat to watch Nya fight

Can we take a moment to appreciate that the last few seasons had focus on different characters? Wu, Zane, Jay, Cole and now Nya, the 16th season might be focusing on Kai, i believe Lloyd will be focused on the 17th season and probably the last one, where we will finally see where garmadon was hiding and what he was doing all this time

Kai was supposed to be the focus of season 11, but they made it a Lloyd season. They still count it as a kai/Zane season though, so next season is probably Lloyd's

I think Lloyd changed the most. He changed from a bratty kid to the green ninja. Then change with all the other ninja. He now has green eyes and has a deeper voice as well.

I would say the most changed would be Nya, Nya was the only one who went over a change for something at least over 3 times. The first being Kai's sister, then being Samurai X, then Jay's "horrible girlfriend" (Nya said in season 6) and then finally her becoming the water ninja which made the final cut for the entire show so far.

I feel like Jay changed a bit from the events of season 6, or maybe it just added more deep to his character
