My brother in law was a reme and did 2 tours in Iraq, he told me this story. A Challenger 2 had a track damaged in Iraq at night and was in a particularly dangerous location so it was left with the crew still inside until morning when they could recover it. The crew were told to lock the hatches and wait it out. The next morning, when the team had come to recover the tank, the crew were inside playing cards and drinking tea. They were pounded on all night with small arms fire, rpg's and grenades, but nobody got in. The track was repaired and the tank drove home under it's own power. It was repaired and was back in use the following day. It literally had insurgents climbing all over it, trying their hardest to get in but they never did. If that doesn't show that it has good crew protection then i don't know what does.

Challenger 2 every time, crew safety. damage suffered in battle is repairable in the field unlike other tanks, well proven as a battle tank with a 120 mm Rifled barrel. 7.62 mm Coaxial chain gun. Accurate proven fire power, although an old design but no Challenger 2 has ever been destroyed by an enemy action to date.

@@andreactuel7209 autoloaders are very unreliable overall, they increase the weight (thus fuel consumption) of the tank and at worst cases when malfunctioning due damage, can make the whole tank useless.

Germany has lost two WW and has again the best tank. Technologie runs thru german vains I guess.

India currently operates 2078 T90 tanks, not 620.

T-90 M is being produced two contracts have been signed ... Older T-90 variants will be upgraded to the M standard. And in Russia they are also producing T-72B3M and T-80BVM (for the extreme weather conditions). Just making these errors raises questions on how much effort was put into research for this video.

@ghost24481 you are so dumb lmao. Ukraine never had t-90s to my knowledge. The most common tanks in lpr and dpr militias was the t-72 and t-72 b3. You clearly have no knowledge about tanks. They got most of their tanks from the many Ukranian soldiers who defected to the lpr and dpr.

@@tinydestroyer4672 You forgot the T64 its true combat debut. The Ukrainians had an upgraded version called the Bulat. The IPR and DPR also had these from captured examples and also Russia gave some when they annexed Crimea from the Ukrainian's. T64 tanks in storage. This is known because some of these T64's where captured and the serial no well its the giveaway of where it came from. The Ukrainians also had only 10 Oplot tanks don't know if they where tested in battle and T80's which didn't take part in the war as far as I know.

But during the Iron Spear it's the overall operatinal capabilities, so the fact that they are "only" 3 crew members may allows them to make faster decisions, reload etc... But at the very end every tank can be better than other depend of the crew, the situations etc.. I just point that's very honorable for the leclerc to have been the best among others for this 2019 competiton

the Leopard is wayyyyy better than a leclerc. the leopard is since 40 years on the top of the worlds best mbt and the leopard is more combatproofen. the leopard beats always the leclerc at the natotankcompetitions in terms of overall performance. the leclerc only beats the leopard in one thing, in terms of shooting but that doesnt really matter because the leopard has one hit win chance of nearly 100%, and overall performance is definitely more important than just shooting. besides that the leopard was buyed from almost 20 countrys and has always proved to be a reliable tank, the leclerc, on the other hand, was only bought twice and that was 20 years ago, since then nobody wanted the leclerc anymore. If a country wants to buy tanks, the leopard is always an option because it is cheap, reliable, and can muster almost the same effectiveness as the k2 black panther, for example.

@Humble Germany does make good tanks. Seems like Leopard 2 series was first created in 1970s, and the 2A7 version is ranked number 1. I give credit for that. Korea at this point does not have a lot to learn from Germany because K2 is currently #2. K2 Panther follows right after Leopard 2A7. Germany created tank Leopard 2, 50 years ago, but Korea apparently almost caught up currently. . Ranking is similar with artillary and IFV as well.

I had to watch the same ad no fewer than 4 times in a video that was less than 20 minutes long. Okay, you got me this time but I won't be back.

I would like to comment about when you said the "Abrams has less fire power compared to Leopard 2a7 and K2 Black Panther because of slightly longer L/55 120mm" While the barrel of the Leopard 2a7 and K2 are longer, that is just to make up for the fact that they don't use depleted uranium shells. The Abrams has the same 120mm, but with DU shells instead of the longer barrel, and little is known about which can pen more.

In one encounter within an urban area, a Challenger 2 came under attack from irregular forces with machine guns and rocket propelled grenades. The driver's sight was damaged and while attempting to back away under the commander's directions, the other sights were damaged and the tank threw its tracks entering a ditch. It was hit by 14 rocket propelled grenades from close range and a MILAN anti-tank missile. The crew survived, safe within the tank until it was recovered for repairs, the worst damage being to the sighting system. It was back in operation six hours later. One Challenger 2 operating near Basra survived being hit by 70 RPGs in another incident. She may be a slow tank but the Challenger 2 is an absolute beast. I don’t know about you but if I were going to war in a tank I would pick the Challenger. Not a single tank lost to enemy fire in its whole service in the British Army.

@@seanhazelwood3311 the challenger 2 has a more powerful gun than the Abrams because its rifled which means it has greater muzzle velocity than a smooth bore gun. The suspension on the challenger 2 is as good or even better than the Abrams. The engine on the Abrams is a great let down as you need a convoy of fuel trucks to keep them running, the challenger 2 engine is only 1200 cc but it's very reliable and still quite fast and it can go much farther in mpg than the Abrams. I would certainly agree that the electronics on the Abrams are much better than the challenger 2 but with the upgrades on the challenger 2 to start soon it will easily beat the Abrams and put it on a level par or better than the leopard.

@@terrywainman6050 We don't need the hotter main gun because only the M1 and Challenger have enough armor to worry about. Plus, the rifled gun wears out faster and needs more cleaning/maintenance. The Challenger suspension is close, but with it's much slower ground speed it's a moot point. The US doesn't rely on mpg because we have plenty of fuel. We want speed and HP, and no MBT on earth will outrun an M1A3. Our support vehicles have trouble keeping up with it. You're correct about the Leopards electronics, but the Challenger isn't even close at present. The Leopard can't do 60+ mph over desert terrain, so it naturally can't guarantee a hit at that speed. The M1 Can.

Yes the challenger 2 which you are on about lost both tracks and through the night the energy shot out the view finders and i think it was about 70 plus rpgs they fired at it until they were rescued and it took 12 hrs to repair and it was back out with the rest of the challenger 2s.

The same Samsung that has to reply on google for the Android OS and Qualcomm for its chips? The same Samsung with its failed Tizen and Bada OS? In defence, Samsung relies on Thales (France) and Staco (US) for its ground force technology. Samsung has decent hardware and very good production, but lacks talent in software. _K2 has the best Fire Control System _ K2 has an unproved FCS. Hard to call it best based on non performance. _Samsung is not in the defense business at the momentarily._ You'll need to deconflict that with this by jaehyung: _is because Samsung is developing the hardware and software for K2_ BTW, Samsung is in the defence business presently and has been in it for decades, but K2 is mostly a Hyundai programme. Anyway, a test it just that. It have be stacked in the favour of one or the other due to the vast corruption in KSA and elsewhere in the Gulf where kickbacks are common. Real-world battle tested is what matters.

I can't speak on other tanks as far as training. But the Abrams platform is easy to learn. And as far as maintenance the Abrams dosent really require that much in a combat setting. Shit we pulled and r place an engine in 45 mins. To get that tank fmc. Besides maintenance really fall down to the crew that has the tank. The Abrams will tell you if she is sick lol

Caffers good opinion I kinda agree. But yeah there insane tanks. I’m in the U.S and the Leo 2 and chally 2 are Nutty looking. The turret cheeks are just so different from one another it’s cool to look at em all. But It all comes down to variables though with tanks. A lot of variables. This is why I think tanks are opinion based to a degree . Like a tiger one and a Leo . Ya Leo is better but a much closer comparison like abrams and chally. Then that is so close that variables in combat take it away imo

Agreed, best tank for crew survivability. and still up there once its upgrading is carried out. It's amusing how much of a death trap Russian made tanks are compared to the latest western tanks.

Beeing not destroyed by old T-55 T-62 and downgraded T-72 is not a big achievement like even AMX-10 and AMX-30 slapped the ass of those tanks in DS1

Happened to me a few weeks ago. I was thinking "what are they talking about!?". Anyways... yes I am at least happy to hear a real human voice. It's a good tank, it's seen battles in the middle east with no reported losses & proved to be decently accurate when firing also. Waiting on that upgrade they are working on though, should improve it's game considerably.

Armata is a prototype, battle untested. The Tiger 2 had 152 mm hull armor, the Maus had 200(?)mm of hull armor BUT was never battle tested. Deal with it.

the ammount of bullcrap claimed in the video is amazing...taking into account that this video was published in 2019 he should know a little bit more Russia has no 600+ T.90 ...they had 350 T-90 left after giving several to Assad regime(which are today mostly destroyed or captured)... in 2018 they ordered a update program for the remaining T-90 to T-90 MS standart + 50 T-72 B turned also into T-90 MS for a total of 400 T-90 in service. The T-90 is not the most successfull export tank...the 2018 T-90 upgrade program was a prove that there are massive problems with the T-14... in 2010 Russia stoped all T-90 upgrade programs to concentrate on T-14...only to activate the update program 8 years later ... The T-90 is not cheap that is a typical internet youtube mythos... If you look at costs customers had to pay for naked tanks without any technical support the over $5million asking price is extrem expansive ..and most cutomer recive the tank only partly mounted and need to finish them befor getting them operational... western tanks higher price includes Trainingdevices maintenance support and access to futher development talks in case of the Leo2) Russia can ask high prices because most western nations would ever deliver to countrys operating T-90. Armata is on the way to enter regular troop service by the end of 2019 or early 2020... Russia is able to buy a whopping number of 12 (no tippo) T-14 Armata and 4 T-15 Armata recovery tanks... (in 2015 they claimed 2300 T-14 till 2020.... reality hit hard in their face) Japan Why the hell talking about the old Type 90...showing videos partly of the brand new Type10 and not dropping a word about it? Ukrain Oplot is a pice of shit and went dead last during a NATO tank competition were they allowed Ukrain to join... this tank has no right to be in the Top 10 and the T-90 MS is for sure the better tank. India why no Arjun Mk II?...with all its flaws its much better than the Oplot crap and during internal Indian Army trails were they tested their own T-90 against the Arjun II the Arjun Mk II outclassed the T-90 by miles... thanks to the massive help of Israel who helped India to sort out many problems of the orginal Arjun... India is the only big user of the T-90 with more than 1000... the reason is simple, India has a massive fleet of T-72 and T-72 factorys, till today 65% of all parts used on the T-90 are still unchanged T-72 parts, for this reason they can run the T-90 with own produced spare parts France Why is the Leclerc so far in the back...it is miles better than the Challenger2 which is on the other hand completely overrated in this top 10... UK Challenger II is the next pice of crap, the mythos of the massive protection and the many hits it could survive... a single hit on the command copular and this thing pop its turrrent because of the shitty ammo storage (one CH2 was killed that way by friendly fire) ... the CH2 is slow as fuck, the fire rate is the worst of all modern tanks, the gun accuracy is a nother mythos ... firetrails from NATO has shown that the CH2 cant back up its long distance accuracy... Merkava Mk IK Windbraker I place the Merkava Windbraker for several reasons first place... - it has the only operational proofen 100% successfull hard kill system (Trophy) which has intercept since introduction in 2011every RPG and missle fired at the Merkava - it has the most advance firecontrol system (IDF is totaly devoted to extrem long range shooting which needs the best firecontroll avaible) - it has a very capable suspension that is a) build for extrem roough terrain and offer b) a huge wheeltravel - its gun can fire everything made for 120mm rounds and there is a shitload avabile on the market - its turret has a massive base protection even outclassing M1A2 USA and Germany has ordered Trophy for the M1 and Leo2 (Germany only 17 systems for the Leo2 for forming a joint unit with the M1A2 with Trophy to make spare parts interchangeable) I rate the K2 Black Panther over the Leo2 A7V as long as the Leo2 lacks a hard kill system... the moment the Leo2 recive Trophy or ADS hard kill system in combination with the most powerfull tank gun out there I will put it on 1. place

Old type 90? The type 10 is not there to replace the type 90. It is there to fullfill different tasks. The type 90 is a very modern tank and still up to date it definitly deserves a place on the list.

a challenger 2 was killed by friendly fire, but that was down to a shell exploding against an OPEN commander hatch, no tank would survive that..

nagmashot again like a previous comment the challenger 2 has never been lost In combat. the friendly fire incident was from a friendly tank shooting hesh (high explosive squash head) at the open commander hatch of said tank this killed two crew and injured the other two that is all the tank given about a week of that could have been back on the front lines so not taken out and the other case of a challenger being even remotely hurt was when a RPG something I forget hit the lower glacial plate on the challenger taking the foot off the driver but the tank was back in battle the next day so don’t give people this bias bs from tanks that have never seen battle I will still hold what’s said and say the challenger 2 and the Abraham’s are the two most iconic and proven tanks in the world

Yeah shame most of them are not combat ready due to lousy budget limiting by the German government who are that bad a sizable amount of the bundeswehr are celebrating the wehrmacht and this isn't opinion it's been told to me by multiple members of the bundeswehr who are very proud and professional but increasingly find they are held back by a government that shouts about it's great economy but doesn't pay a decent defence budget.

@@w4rdaddy927 Don't get too full of it m8, Germany have taken other technologies from other nations, the crews are what mainly counts, has the 2a7 been battle proven? Also have a look at German WW2 tanks such as Tigers, Panthers and the Ferdinand, very powerful, good armour in certain places but absolutely poor reliability for the most part. Even maintenance was horrible.

The fact this video is forgetting about the Leclerc is that it is the only tank in the world who is able to shoot while driving fast with the quite same higher precision than if it was not moving. That make him way harder to destroy compared to all the others who needs to stop which make them an easy target.

the Leopard is wayyyyy better than a leclerc. the leopard is since 40 years on the top of the worlds best mbt and the leopard is more combatproofen. the leopard beats always the leclerc at the natotankcompetitions in terms of overall performance. the leclerc only beats the leopard in one thing, in terms of shooting but that doesnt really matter because the leopard has one hit win chance of nearly 100%, and overall performance is definitely more important than just shooting. besides that the leopard was buyed from almost 20 countrys and has always proved to be a reliable tank, the leclerc, on the other hand, was only bought twice and that was 20 years ago, since then nobody wanted the leclerc anymore. If a country wants to buy tanks, the leopard is always an option because it is cheap, reliable, and can muster almost the same effectiveness as the k2 black panther, for example.

@@ArendSchuurman Is that why we've lost hundreds of challengers at war? Becuase of the shit armour? ohhh We haven't lost any? Funny that. Most MBTs are fair match for each other, but the majority are new, and the chally is due an upgrade. On this list the challenger (as a series) has seen extensive comabantant use, with no Challenger II destroyed by enemy fire, (I think we lost one due to an american bombing run but don't quote me). Its not trash, none of top 5 are, but it certainly deserves better than 4th. Most accurate gun over rough ground, most accurate gun over distance (accurate to 5m over 9950m) because of the rifled barrel, which we kept instead of ditching for the smooth bore cheap-ammo shit.

Leclerc would obliterate any of them but sure, it has the fastest killing ratio so in a real fight it would be the best suited to take all of them out in the shortest amount of time

I think everyone has a fav tank and it varries, i totally respect your opinion, you're talking facts right here. I respect any tanks for what they are made to be, leclerc on paper is "probably" lacking armour because that's how the french fights. Simply does it, Leclerc, Abrams, Leo, Chally etc.... They all are the same to me, i respect tanks like you should respect your ennemies in battle. They're all amazing.

Honestly, I think you are wrong. Can it kill the others? Not so sure given that Abrams employs a very thick armour and the Challenger II is renowned for crew protection. Leopard's turret is basically impenetrable by any tank right now. But they can all pen the Leclerc I would guess. Just by looking at the weight, obviously it is a tad smaller but weighs a lot less. And then this turret looks very vulnerable. Obviously we can't really access it because all armour values are classified. I would though say that it is a good tank but if it can destroy the others, not so sure.
