I bought a tape - halyard. I sewed a loop out of it. I put it on the handle of a shovel. I sat down in a chair and did the same thing. 3.30 sec. I'm pulling towards myself.

Bands are safe. Don’t let one bad experience scare you. Equipment in general can be dangerous. Be careful. Check your bands for tears/holes before each use.
