In shape they were good fighters. 42-1 at Tokyo was too much.

I thought Tubbs win that fight. Tony Tubbs was a hugely talented fighter.

Far too passive from Tubbs. To scavenge 6 rounds for him you have to be a real Bowe detractor. Had it 7-2-1. Bowe pressed it all night and threw the only scoring jabs.

I am surprised that tubbs was able to go the distance with bowe

Bowe won the first three rounds. Hands down. So, it appears that the judges awarded him the next three. Then, they began to notice what everyone else already knew: Tubbs was controlling the fight with his jab and boxing angles. But Bowe had "won" the bout on paper by that time. These things happen when one guy is the overall favorite: that guy wins. Really good effort by Tony Tubbs. He should be proud! (5-4-1 Tubbs.)

Riddick was good but he was not messing with Prime Mike. 3 years prior what happened to Tubbs? Tubbs is an EXCEPTIONAL fighter when he comes with it.

Tubbs had great foundamentals and was very underrated fighter. He was out of his prime here but very good fighter!

This bout, more than anything, shows the difference between Tyson and Bowe. Tyson was a finisher. Bowe would get a big guy in trouble then run out of steam after the first barrage.

Bowe, win or loss, always had problems with big boys like Golata, Tubbs, and Coetzer and I think it was the main reason why Eddy Futch asked him to avoid Lewis. He wouldn't have a problem for fighters with Tyson or Holyfield sizes though.

He had trouble with Golota cause he was in down hill and Tubbs was very good out boxer.
