Tom Kimber - Back to Branscombe (Mandolin and Cittern)
Музыка
I wrote this tune for my feature on David Benedict's Mandolin Mondays series, which can be found here: • Mandolin Mondays Featu...
For my own channel, I've decided to add some cittern (tuned as an octave mandolin at the minute)

Great stuff Tom - thanks for sharing 👏👏👏👏👏🙏🏿
This is absolutely lovely, it makes it all worthwhile when I hear something I built producing tones like this, in the hands of a master.

Beautiful!
Just wonderful. You crafted a story there, I was wheeling as a Kite along a seascape somewhere above Ardnamurchan listening to this Tom. Very beautiful indeed.

Thanks very much Simon. I've gigged in Arisaig a number of times, which isn't too far away from there I believe, so can picture that landscape.

@@tomkimbermusic I have to confess, I bought a tenor guitar because I heard your beautiful rendition of Red Prairie Dawn a few years ago. I have you to thank for introducing me to that wonderful instrument. You are up in Newcastle? Do you gig around there in normal times?

Just beautiful. I really do enjoy your stuff. I too will confess that I bought a tenor guitar based on your NK Forster performance. You get a beautiful tone on everything you play. Could I ask a technical question? What gauge pick do you use on your tenor guitar and do you change your pick depending on the instrument you play? Do you remember what gauge/brand you were using when you played the NK Forster tenor? Just wonderful tone. I will be watching for a solo album.

@@Simple_Simian thanks Simon, that’s great to hear. I do live in Newcastle and gigged around here and most of the UK in normal times. Looking forward to getting back out there this summer if all goes well 🤞

@@banjofanatic7519 thanks very much, much appreciated! I use Wegen TF picks on almost everything I play. For tenor guitar, tenor banjo and mandola I use 1mm-1.2 and on mandolin I use a 1.4. Check out wegen Tf100-Tf120 and Tf140 picks. I was using a TF120 in those videos for Nigel, they’re great picks and can’t recommend them highly enough.
Wonderful again.
Really beautiful - thanks for posting :)
Fantastic, gorgeous playing my boy! You require more views, likes, subscribers, and comments for the algorithm 👍
Awesome!
Great! I posted this on reddit so hopefully a few mandoliners will hear this :)
