Cittern/Mandolin tunes by Tom Kimber
Музыка
A new set of two tunes I'm calling Monsoon season. Ive actually been sat on these for a while but have only just thought to pair them up. The cittern is tuned GDADG for this one and the mandolin and tenor guitar in GDAE.
Just in case you're wondering, I play:
Cittern: Thomas Buchanan folkmandolin.co.uk
Tenor Guitar: Ashbury AT-24 hobgoblin.com/gr36114-ashbury...
Mandolin: www.davidsoninstruments.com

I stumbled upon your videos trying to figure out what to do with a tenor that I picked up in trade...that was lucky! You are a treasure of insightful information and great music. Thank you....except maybe for the nagging need to buy a cittern after this video.
Tasty tunes and pickin'

Not yet, I plan to at some stage!
The Cittern sounds really nice - would you recommend the brand? The site link doesn't show prices , or give details on tone woods. Have you a spec for yours (and price) please?

I would, it's a Buchanan. I picked this up ages ago from hobgoblin music and it had some repairs done so was a very good price. I'd check online for what his current prices are.
Nice, are these original tunes of yours?

Thanks Alex, they are originals
That is bloody brilliant. Do you think the step from regular guitar to octave mandolin/cittern is doable in terms of familiarization/positioning? I'm thinking about getting my first Octave :)

Absolutely, it’s just a case of working out the tuning, but the left and right hand technique is very similar!
