Dagon is apart of the villains list and therefore had no plot armor.

@natman2939 my apologies. I was trying to say that season 1 never had any ghosting or dimming whether its blu ray or not. As for season 2, you'll have to wait for the blu ray release for undimmed, un-ghosted versions. Last time I checked, around 7 episodes of S2 were released in blu ray.

Think about it. Dagon is being rushed before he can successfully launch his technique and Toji is so outlandishly strong and fast that any technique is splattered and deflected before it can land. Not to mention Megumi’s domain is scrambling the sure-hit effect, so Dagon never had a chance.
