Hi Hailey, I just wanted to express my gratitude and thank you for all of your guidance and videos. I found your channel in the fall of 2019 and found your story so inspiring. I also was rejected from all the universities I applied to in high school and was completely devastated to have to attend a community college. It was a difficult journey and at one point even dropped all my classes at the start of the pandemic because of its difficulty. I quickly returned and persevered through a challenging summer and fall. I am now set to graduate with an AA at the end of May and have also been recently accepted to UCB and UCLA. Thank you!

That may be, but college is not the only means to education and prosperity. Especially in the age of the internet, you can practically learn anything you want to. There are plenty of people who don't hold degrees who are very intelligent and are true movers and shakers in society.

I got into UCLA engineering major and I am grateful for that. I also got into San Jose state university but waitlisted at UCD (my dream school). The problem is that it is difficult to study at UCLA because it is very far away from my family and idk anyone there, it’s also very competitive and I am very concerned for failing my classes but San Jose and Davis are near to me. How would you compare the San Jose engineering vs the UCLA? Please give your honest opinion about this? SJSU got internships and job opportunities and it looks like San Jose is one of the best civil engineering school. Any opinions?

Hi Massih, to be honest I really don't know anything about SJSU or the engineering dept. at UCLA since I was a linguistics major. It sounds like you have done your research on the schools, so I would say that you are at the point in your decision-making process where it comes down to personal choice. It might seem scary but you need to have a conversation with yourself about what your preferences are and go with your gut. At the end of the day, the only one who can make the decision is you. Hope that helps!

I got into UCLA and Cal. I'm having a hard time making a choice. I just want to thank you for your amazing videos. This particular video shows how thoughtful you are. I know how important this was to me and how I would've felt if I didn't get in. So, even though I did get accepted, I appreciate you for making this video. Also, I saw you were in a similar predicament as I am now (unable to make a decision) and you made a video on it, which I plan to watch. I was wondering if you could: 1. Talk about some of the pros and cons of UCLA. 2. Recommend an "A day in my life as a UCLA student" video that you think is accurate. I only ask that you recommend because I know (or at least I think) you're done with undergrad. If this isn't the case, then please make one. 3. If by any chance, you know someone in the Philosophy Department (or more broadly, humanities or letters and science- I'm unsure which it is in UCLA), could you possibly do a Q and A with them? Or an interview-type thing. Ask them about the Philosophy Department at UCLA- the curriculum, the professors, even their classmates. I'd just like to know what it's like. I'm sorry. I know this is a lot to ask for, but I'm starting to stress out about this. I'm really glad and grateful that I have these options, but I don't know where to go!! Lol. I imagine the universe looking at me like "Girl, are you ever happy?" Anyway, thank you again, Hailey. I truly do think your channel is underrated.

Congratulations on getting into UCLA and Cal! That's amazing and you should be really proud of yourself! In regards to your first point, I would encourage you to watch my video "What I Wish I Knew About UCLA Before Attending" as I am very candid about expectation vs. reality in that vid. Per #2, I have a full playlist of UCLA vlogs that I did during my undergrad experience. Definitely check it out! As for #3, unfortunately I do not know anyone in the philosophy department. You would probably have more luck on the UCLA Transfer Students Facebook page. There is a very active community of transfers from a wide range of majors there and I am sure they would be happy to address your questions. Overall, I can tell you're really anxious to make this decision, so if I were you I would take a deep breath and remind myself that the deadline to make the decision isn't until June 1st. That's a long time! You don't have to choose overnight and also don't forget that you are choosing between the two #1 public universities in the nation so you can't go wrong either way.
