Tivoli Gardens: The Most Feared Garrison in Jamaica! (Never Before Filmed) 🇯🇲

Ойын-сауық

Tivoli Gardens - Possibly the most feared garrison in all of Jamaica! Today I got unrestricted access to film deep inside the forbidden Tivoli. Possibly more impressive was my guide for the day, Oneil "Coco" Coke a well respected individual from the community and activist for change and healing. I must admit that Tivoli has a very dangerous reputation for crime, and murder but it looks like this neighbourhood is doing what it can to make a positive change. Let's hope that they continue on a path towards peace and I will continue to visit and document Tivoli when I return to Jamaica.
Lastly, a personal thank you to "Coco" Coke a complete gentleman for his time and efforts allowing me back into Tivoli for a proper walk through. Your efforts are very much appreciated.

Great commentary about your visit to Tivoli Gardens in my country. This will certainly encourage people visiting. I can't wait to visit. And meet the 2 men who showed you around and explain in full about what they want for Tivoli. The driver who was in the UK highlighted the importance of visiting Tivoli gardens to see the foundation the Members of the community applied and wants for the children of the future. I hope young Joshua will be successful in his education for the future to aim for the profession that he would like. There are so much potential in those children as long as they are willing to learn. I would like to congratulate the young men who are the pioneers for the transformation of Tivoli Gardens. Blessings always and continue to be Strong 🙏❤

Watching this brings tears to my eyes. Especially, while they passed through Ebenezer church and then towards Spanish town road, on route to the market. It reminds me of my days as a young girl, walking that route from "Courts"(the centre buildings of Tivoli, newer buildings) where we lived. I would take that route daily, to get the bus for high school(St Hugh's High). These were my stomping grounds, my childhood. I will never be ashamed of where I came from, I pray for a better today and tomorrow for those children seen in the beginning and more. Thanks for your documenting of my once home Chris. God bless you

In all the decades hearing about Tivoli, this is my first time seeing Tivoli, and it takes a KZreadr, to show me this scary place, I've heard about since the 70-80s, I don't live in Jamaica, but I'm grateful to Chrismustlist, a World Traveler KZreadr, to go to those places, that drives fear in most people's hearts. KZread is an amazing platform, for showcasing the world, and so many cultures, communities and societies globally. As a Jamaican living abroad, I learn and see alot about Jamaica, from watching KZread. Thanks alot for showing this place that was a mystery to me. May Peace and love reigns within your lovely community. GOD Richest Blessings to all. BlessUp CML. 🇯🇲🇱🇷❤

Hi Chris , I really and truly enjoy this documentary, I am honestly impressed. To the children who are so forward, the sky is the limit. Joshua, that neurosurgeon intent as your future employment I am holding you to it. Jamaica needs you son, we need youths like you who are thinking outside the usual box as you are the future leaders of Jamaica . Keep up the good work son, education is the key. One Jamaica ❤ To the Rasta man who took you around , what you are doing with the youths is commendable. To the artist, your vision is real, the concept behind the art is really and truly therapeutic which should help those persons who lost their love ones during the unjust incursions. Stay bless all of you who are working to make Tivoli a better place and which through extension will make Jamaica great once again. Chris must List, again you opened my eyes to a new place,Tivoli. One Jamaica.

I love to explore the areas I'm told not to go, & find out what it's really like, because I find great ppl in every community, & truly some of the most kind-hearted, loving & caring ppl I've ever met in the Ghettos. The negative Aspects get Amplified so much, ppl don't see any positives so these communities often get abandoned, & exiled by the General public because of perception. Chris, love your video of life in Tivoli. There is a Tivoli in every country but to understand life in Tivoli you have to live there. I noticed a lot of your video was shot in the section called the Bump. As a Jamaican Chinese I lived in Tivoli in a building in the section called the Bump before immigrating to NY. The buildings were much newer and the parks had flowers and water fountains with light which they usually light up at night then. Tivoli is a community that takes of its own people and if you live there you have not much to worry about. The creator of Tivoli was Mr. Seaga creation and I can see the place is not in the same condition since he retired from politics. The children in Tivoli are not different for any other children living in a poor community. Its the responsability of the MP of the are to take care of the community and the childrens and stop stuffing their pockets.

Tivoli gardens was supposed to be a self sufficient working class community that politics and tribalism ruined and morphed into a political garrison. There are possibly thousands of horror stories associated with this one neighborhood and my family could speak of many BUT there are many stories of triumph as well. Informative video that was tastefully and respectfully shot and edited. Much respect ✊🏾

You can trace that back to the powers that be from a foreign land…that’s the commonality for many ghettos across the globe.

Enjoyed this video. I've been to Tivoli in my earlier years in Jamaica. The people were warm kind and lovely. What happened in Tivoli was evil and definitely orchestrated by the US government through the gullible Jamaican government. It was sinful. They will pay.
