I was born in Jamaica, & he’s absolutely right. Social media make it more than what it is, we embrace people with genuine, respect. We don’t bother people unless bothered, we protect people, we not gonna let nothing happen to you. You can walk around & not get touched, people create a false narrative on us. It’s so much happiness, joy & good vibes in Jamaica. Everybody that see this, go, have respect that’s all.

I use to live in Oakland courts an residential apartment complex across from the grantspen community, have a few friends from there lost a few to violence as well, I remember Blinky was a young kid at the time but was very respected by the elders, my mom sent me to buy tomatoes, wasn't suppose to go to grantspen but I went anyways and literally almost got robbed but the young kid Blinky saved my life by telling the guy he knew me and i was just there to buy tomatoes for my mom and he should leave me alone.... unfortunately he grew up and turned to violence and lost his life, Rip Blinky, never forgot that youth.... Big up Grants pen.....

Chris thanks for highlighting these communities. Some Jamaicans scared of their own shadow. My theory is be aware but don’t live in fear because good people live in all so called bad communities. This girl in yellow is very intelligent. Most of the young men are talented.

These people live in the Garrison's are very good people, but Society distant themselves from them because they are poor, and no we starting to see people from overseas coming in going to talk to those people, and now Jamaicans are learning that people in the garrisons they are not your enemies. the people in the ghettos are not your enemies , and you should dialogue with them just like all the foreigners did the only way Jamaica can come back is to engagement
