Money and material possessions does not bring permanent happiness. Those kids have nothing but are happy and carefree.

This guy showing you around really knows his community. He is witty and clever and quite charming. You picked the best person to give you a tour in a very complicated and foreign part of the world. Well done. And you didn't degrade or insult the host country you are in like so many western "vloggers" who travel through slums of poor countries and objectify the locals for views and fun.

you found a very smart and decent guide, he knows a lot about the place he lives in, no one reacts negatively to filming, working and living conditions are terrible. In addition, children work is a special problem.

I try not to complain in life and watching this video helps me be grateful for what i have.

I always think your films are the most authentic of India - I have visited dozens of times. This slum has been there for decades and has become more organised over the years. The sheer numbers of people in a small area is mind blowing. A place of extremes both good and bad 🙏🏻

Extremely inhumane and unsanitary conditions, but it's amazing how creative and productive these people are !

Tbh I wasn't going to watch this video going by the title but man, I'm so glad I did. Despite the dirt, smells and the cramped conditions, they are not sitting around and whiling away their time. People who live in parts of the world similar to Dharavi, Mumbai must have incredibly strong immune systems to survive there. I wouldn't last long. I feel very fortunate I live in an environment that is so much healthier and cleaner. That river of garbage almost makes me want to cry. It was a healthy river at one point and time.

I'm always amazed at the way others on this earth live. I'm thankful each day for my life and the blessings I have. It puts things in perspective to see other people living so differently from myself, how I couldn't imagine living in their world. . Thank you for taking us on your journey and teaching us a way of life that is alien to our own.

I am always amazed on how these people of India or Thailand etc that basically have nothing but are always smiling and friendly to foreigners. Just goes prove that money yes can make life better but not always happiness.

Fascinating video and unbelievable how many people live in a small area. I love how industrious they are thanks for sharing this video. I am currently planning a trip to India and this tour looks like a fantastic experience.

Wow, my country Slovenia is around 20,300 square kilometers and there is 2.1 million of us. No wonder a guy from India once asked me, where are all the people. People of India have such a potential and I think they hold a great future.

Great vid. I’m glad I stumbled upon this nice content and learned about these hardworking and always-smiling people. Been to India once and experienced some of their rich cultures like their food that I ❤.

About 30 years ago I was in India and travelled all over the northern two thirds of the country. I have to say that I really enjoyed my visit. It was a great country with industrious people. A true capitalist nation. I only got to see the northern part, but I hear the southern part is more prosperous. I cannot verify that. I'll just say that I really loved India. I expected to find more English speakers than I actually encountered. I didn't consider the "slums," slums. People were working everywhere with incense wafting through the air. Yes, it was dirty, but that's just the way India is. They aren't concerned about it at all, neither was I.

Mumbai and outskirts of Mumbai, are very cosmopolitan. You will find hustling people from all over the country in Mumbai, however in a country with many different culture it's a lifetime experience to feel. Right from cuisine to climate you can experience everything within 1 country!

I thought this was by another KZreadr but I am glad I watched and listened. Makes me want to travel to even the most wretched places on this planet. What a lovely experience. People just want to live, make a decent living and have peace. May God bless them all. I have no complaints after watching this. Thank you for sharing this experience.

These are very hard working peoples, I agree but to say living in such deplorable conditions & they are happier than most peoples in the western countries ? you must be out of your mind & in denial state of the reality. Are you living in such condition now ? The government of India is corrupt & incompetent otherwise slums like this shouldn't exist in one of the so called largest city of India. Great video Gabi! The pan leaf you had contains beetle nut and sometimes tobacco too. It is linked to cancers of the throat and mouth as well as giving you unsightly red gums and teeth - so best avoided. But I can understand why they take it. Credit to the people who live there and work so hard. The place just really needs a good cleanup and some town planning which will make a massive difference. These people deserve this, they are trying to improve their situation and not just giving up. This is where the government should put the effort in on improving the lot of the common man. It is great to send rockets to the far side of the moon and inflate your ego, but how is that helping your countryman?

Update about my last month visit to India it was absolute amazing!!! Surely you will get all small things to get annoyed at if you go to the rough part but belive me is an experience of life, I definitely go back again!

They work so hard and still in slums for generations. I love that they are productive and making nice things like the clay pots. Those who managed to escape the slums and get jobs in other countries are blessed because they can contribute and lessen the burdens back home.

Great documentary about an amazing place . Such resourceful people despite adverse circumstances. Beautiful english spoken 🙏🇬🇧🕉️

@luckyworldsupreme Actually, how lucky some of us are...for the entirety of Human History, there wasn't air conditioned or heated rooms, worker's rights, first world living standards, clean and developed streets and cities, clean food, water, internet, computer, technology, etc. What we in the West are enjoying is very rare, and only in recent Human History. In fact, even in the 21st century, there are billions of People world wide who have poor living standards, have to work 12 to 16 hours a day 6 days or 7 days a week, no workers rights, dirt poor low wages, and shitty small apartment or shared room. Some of us are lucky. Majority of Humanity from the beginning of civilization to today has not had the luxuries we all enjoy in the 1st world countries today.

Anytime I see this it's a humbling experience and I guess that feeling is 100x stronger when you are actually there and see it with your own eyes

This is an incredible experience to behold just amazing how people can subsist and go on about life daily in this place. You definitely need a guide or you would be lost getting around inside there.

2 million people living in that slum?😮 Holy cow,that's a large size city in Europe! Is this also the world's biggest slum?

There are places, around the world, where people are living in terrible situations, I have seen favelas in Sao Paolo,the slums in Brazil, places where millions of people live, yet, smiles on their faces are not uncommon, and that it makes you wonder and realize, how lucky we are, and we should be grateful everyday of what we have and that we are in good health.

It's unbelievable how some people live in this world and most people don't even know or for that matter don't care and WE ALL take everything for granted one day the world will wake up at least I hope so but unfortunately it's all about greed now days hope your feeling better and may God keep you safe montana ❤️

Just like the homeless people in LA, Newyork, Vancouver live on the streets with drug.... Atleast in India poor people have home called slum.

@@bidyutmanna3900 because india has a sense of COMMUNITY. These capitalistic, western countries are all focused on “self”. They consciousness is seared, like a rock or robot…….I wish to move to somewhere where I feel more at home & sense of community. Edit: in western countries, they will smile in your face but secretly, they don’t really care about others because the demands of western life (taking care of one’s own mortgage, bills like electricity & water, high cost of food & life things, makes everyone ultra “tunnel-vision” focused on one’s own life & survival. Screw America.

Very eye opening video. Not the eye on our face but the eye into our own self. These people are empowering just to look at what they do to survive. Ur ancestors robed our country. That's y ur are living happily there.only one thing they forgot to take from India is bhagvathgita so our Prabhupad gifted it to all over the world and u learnt what is human life. What is the response of human being..try yo search about prabhupad..
