TIU E5: Compressor and Vacuum Chuck System

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Episode 5 of the 'Tools I Use and Why I Use Them' series looks at the compressed air and vacuum chuck system we have here in the workshop.
Our compressor is a 'silent' Hyundai 50l unit which is superb and provides enough puff for the teaching room, Les' workshop, and mine, too.
The vacuum chuck system I use is the one from Holdfast with the 4" and 6" chucks.

Hi Martin Great explanation! I have just acquired same system from my father in law but I have a 25 litre compressor that has oil lubrication - is there any reason I should not use this? TIA

Does the compressor run constantly while using the vacuum generator or does it cycle on and off?

Just like when you use a compressor with an air gun, it turns on as and when the pressure drops below the set pressure. It will then switch off when the pressure in the tank reaches its set max pressure.
