Tips to become the Iron Chef of your Anxiety, and not rely on distractions

This is a follow up to an earlier video where I compared the treatments of anxiety to the ideas behind the Iron Chef cooking series versus a short order cook as found in many diners.
Both have their place in dining, but in anxiety treatment one approach I better suited to finally eradicating your fear of flying while the other is a more band aid approach which in the long term can’t be trusted!
Some techniques depicted in the video use pseudoscience methods which I try to avoid and call out where possible. Often offered by well meaning people including pilots they can offer maintain fearful behaviours!

Thanks a ton!!I have to fly in one month, and there will be lots of flights, some of them over 10 hours long! So I will defo start using a ‘chef approach’ now.

Алена Мурашова you’re very welcome. Both approaches have their roles, but Iron Chef will in the long run be the way to go and it can be used for other areas of anxiety. Be careful of ONLY using distractions to get you through, as sooner or later they will not do the trick, and you will be left with self doubt about whether you can do this or nor - a form of mental clutter. Whatever happens you can handle it, and that’s the bottom line,
