TIMELAPSE OF THE FUTURE: A Journey to the End of Time [REACTION]
My name is Michael! I teach geography, history, religion, social science and physical education. Way too many subjects if you ask me... I don't claim to be an expert in any of these subjects.

@@simpleviking Hi!
Some people might see this and feel meaningless since we're so insignificant in the grand scheme of the universe. But I think we're some of the most significant and unique things in the history of the universe, since life exists for such a short time. Planets, stars, and black holes might outlast us by far, but unlike them we have the gift of being able to witness and experience this universe for ourselves, something that's unique only to us.
@sphjinx1448

As far as we are currently aware at least. If aliens do exist, there might be some with sentience and sapience like us. But as far as we are aware, we are totally unique. And that is a special thing.

@@sphjinx1448 I don't believe this myself, but one theory believes we missed out on other intelligent races. We were born too late, so to speak. Imagine how tragic that would be? Again, I don't believe it, but I do think about that at times.

Just because we are small doesn't mean we are meaningless though. The fact that a random primate in a random place in the universe figured all this shit out is impressive
This was my first melodysheep video I watched. I love this one. Life beyond trilogy is also phenomenal, the best one of the 3 is life beyond 3 imo. Recently he also released a new video called “The Sights of Space”
Watched whole video of course !! melodysheep have many amazing videos. his series Life Beyond is also amazing and worth to watch. he puts crazy amount of work into these videos

I first watched this original video two weeks ago, and haven’t really been able to stop thinking about it. It’s really changed my outlook and life and is still changing me. Then I watched this, your reaction to that same video, and it made me feel better. I needed to see another human experience this information and emotion the same way I did, it’s a crazy thought experiment in a way! Thank you so much for sharing your reaction to this, it made me feel slightly connected when I’m currently feeling existentialism! 😊

it's funny how scared yet how intrigued I was throughout the duration of the whole video - as someone who has zero expertise on this field (or in any other exact sciences fields tbh) knowledge like this seems almost unreal to me, so unimaginable that even with visuals it's hard to grasp .... all in all I just wanted to say this was brutally scary yet hauntingly beautiful, what a video (aaaand glad to see you back ^^)
MelodySheep is an absolute master of his craft
I've seen this video 4 times now, and it still captivates me every time. One of the masterpieces of youtube, imo. Some info: Gravitational wave detections: Yea it took a lot of effort to detect the first one. But once they did they found out that black hole collisions are actually pretty common. We've detected a LOT of them already. I believe a few dozen? Not entirely sure on the number. Dark matter and dark energy: Dark matter is the mysterious gravitational influence we observe around most visible matter today. As in, there is far more gravity than visible matter would suggest. We call it dark matter for now, but we don't really know what it is yet. Dark energy is the mysterious force driving the accelerating expansion of the universe. But, once again, we don't know exactly what it is yet. "Dark" in both cases both means (so far) undetectable, and unknown. "Matter" is only used because whatever that extra gravity is, it has similar properties to matter. Though we don't even know if it's actually matter. "Energy" is used because we don't have a better term for the mysterious force. Harnessing the energy of space itself: It's called zero point energy. Research is being done into it, but we haven't even come close to finding a way to harness it yet. And a personal note: I would LOVE to be a scientist. Astrophysicist to be exact. This stuff interests and captivates me to no end. Problem is, I'm not smart enough. I can't get my head around even the simple math or formulae that astrophysics deals with. All I can do is learn the simplified versions that youtube brings me through channels like PBS spacetime, the history of the universe, SciShow space, and other such channels. Sometimes articles as well of course. But hey, at least I don't watch the Cardashians or other incredibly dumb drivel like that. :P

I’m one of those people that finds resounding peace and comfort in the knowledge that all of my small problems that seems so large really are meaningless in the grand scale of it all. I believe dark energy is the energy of life itself, souls of all living things that have been and ever will be. The more we experience, discover and create the bigger the universe becomes. The more we want to see the more space is given to explore. We are all the universe individually experiencing itself, all separate parts of the same whole.
The existentiality slowly occuring to you over the course of this video

Ahh now KZread didn't tell me you uploaded a new video. But nice that you liked (among other things) my suggestion. :D
fun fact: recent estimations of betelgeuse suggest that it mighty go supernove within 100 year and not 1,000,000 years. we might get to see the brightest ever supernova of earth within our lifetimes.
You definitely should react to mrlodysheeps other video, „Life Beyond 3 in search of Giants“ is one of the two greatest of his, you watched the other in this video (also there are 3 parts of life beyond by they are absolutely not connected to each other, just having the similar topics and the third is the best)
literally any doomsday story is 1000000 times less terrifying than this
I stayed for the entire video
applying the laws of natural selection and evolution on earth to what is beyond the universe makes a lot of sense, universes could just be in the process of natural selection
Wonderful
You mentioned at one point “what if there was a way to harness dark energy”. Unfortunately, since it’s everywhere, that’s very hard to do, not energy gradient, no “cold reservoir” without that energy. Best we can do is hold plates very close together to suppress casimir energy, but since those require force to hold apart, it would end up being a battery at best.
@_Stargazer_.

Bro .. English please 🙏
@alecmeden6325

@@_Stargazer_. it’s just hard with how short youtube makes comments. Basically, to get work outta a source of power, there needs to be a hot side and a cold side. Energy flows from the hot to the cold side, and you extract power from that flow. Literally every engine works that way. But since dark energy is everywhere, there’s no area where it’s colder, so u can’t run any engine with it. It’s useless. U can create little spots without this energy by holding two metal plates really close together, and that emptiness causes them to be pushed together (the dope sounding “casimir effect”) but that only really works as a battery and is pretty useless.
@penguino4251

So is dark energy absolute zero? Cause in the video it says that as the universe expands dark energy does not dilute away, so that would mean no matter where you go in the universe there will be dark energy, so if dark energy emits any kind of temperature wouldn't that mean absolute zero will never be possible @@alecmeden6325

Well i asked an ai the speed of universe and he said 200million per second.
The king ia back❤️❤️❤️
It’s the witness He’s the mysterious force
so the percentage that we living right now would be the .0s would be almost infinite and unfathomable to think about that's so cool and scary. For the people born between 2000-2010 like myself who were born into internet, and technology and not knowing anything before it. It means we have one of the most important roles known to man. Having to go through the technological era of us just figuring out what to do with it like literally we are kids handling technology like we know it when we do not, and it's only the begging for everything science, entertainment and so much more. We will teach the next generation to do better as the grow into the future of tech and more until we do better as a species and live on as one. I feel at some point in our lifetime we will see less fighting and political bull crap all over and we learn to grow as a species. So we can understand more of our amazing universe
Matter cannot be created or Destroyed, it is simply converted to a different form of energy. Infinity cannot cease to exist as we know it without continuously recycling
On this subject, there is a short story: The Last Question by Isaac Asimov. For me was amazing to read it, and I never could anticipate the final. if you'll read it maybe you can make a video about that.
Amazing channel
The universe is expanding faster than the speed of light It's just that it has expanded so much that its *spreading matter apart* faster than the speed of the light
And people kills each other or themselves just because of anger or depression? We are just a molecule compared to this universe. We are not alone. The time is limited to us but not to the Universe. Just enjoy your life as you wish. Actually idk why, but this original video brought tears into my eyes, not of joy or sadness, but of meaningless.
From Earth it would be the brightness of a full moon on a clear day, not it literally giving off the same light at the same distance. So daytime would be the same brightness as a night with a full moon. Life could still survive on planets that are quite close to the star.
How have you been bro, good to have you back

"And the people watch Kardashians" - Simple Viking
Haha I watched to the end! Enjoy your little conclusion rant on how sad it is that people watch reality shows rather than content about science 😂 although I agree, maybe it’s the only way to cope with the emptiness 😅
everytime i watch this video it makes me feel like shit, it terrify me, i legit made a friend have a mental breakdown by watching it with him x) just realise the absolute infinite of the universe, even some of the theories in the video were proven wrong, we dont even know whats gonna happen, we arent even sure if the sun will expand at some point in its life, everything we know now could be totaly wrong in the future
Can you imagine being a form of intelligent life in these final periods of the universe. Just fleets of vagrant ships/stations trying to navigate to the nearest possible last source of energy. Hell. Even being at the point where you would know that this one last close black hole would be the only remaining source of power and your survival and you know its life is near the end

Not sure how much they'd care. They'd likely be living in virtual universes, living as gods. Even time might not be the same. 1 year inside a virtual universe could feel like 1000 years in the virtual one. They'd practically have an eternity to do whatever they wished. And by the time there's no more energy to create, id imagine they'd be fairly content.
but i dont get why all the stars eventually die, cause when a star goes supernova (the star has to be 2,5 times bigger than our sun) the remains is just the core surrounded by gas and dust. and outta thatgas and dust, new stars are born. So theres this cycle, when a star dies, a new star is born.
I saw it all till the end.
I 👀 to the bitter end. Too much stuff, everything everywhere, so everyone watches same channels/content. Glad I found yours 👍 .. almost forgot, everytime! Everybody.. ok, that got old fast.. Ev.. 💣💥🇫🇮

I feel as though thinking there is nothing past the observable universe is like flat earthers thinking you’d fall off the earth after you reach the outer limits of what has been explored
Please check out to "Timelapse of the universe" from Melodysheep
It is a beautiful melody. It is insane how the story of humanity or the entire earth can be just summed up in under one minute. It is quite an existential feeling, how small and meaningless we really are. It is a story that seems to go on forever. And even in the end, there is still a force or space, that is bigger than we can imagine. Even bigger, than the story itself.
i kinda wish the video focused more on what will happen to earth but i still enjoyed the video it was really nice. 👍
