Timber Framed Barn Part 17 Trusses Are Up!

This week thanks to the help of Sam and Gwil we finally got the trusses up. We also picked uo some stone for the stone walls around the foundation and made some brackets for the lean to on the side of the barn. those will be going to get galvanised next week while I start work on the 60 lengths of purlins that all need joining together.
Enjoy the video.

A good trick would be to get a length of old chain link fence, lay it down in the bed and then load rocks on top of it. Then you can just hook a chain to the end of the chain link and a ground anchor point (tree etc.) and pull away and the rock will slide off. Then to get the chain link from out under the pile, just hook the chain back up to the trailer (far end of the pile) and pull away again and the chain link will roll up and over the pile. It also helps to have a stiffening bar or length of rebar woven into the chain link end section you're pulling from so you don't pull out a single strand of fencing.
