As an IT dude, my favorite parts during the rack tour were "Just a power thing with some numbers there", "It's cool cuzz it looks like little hairs", "Baringer-something", "Hairy toothbrush thing" Best homelab tour to date. haha!

Tim approaches recording like a trap producer approaches making a beat and I love it

or like anybody approaches production
@moonloop6

Are you implying that "trap" producers are something special or are you undermining Tim's recording protocol? I think he approaches recording just like anyone else who produces ones own music.
@FromTheHipp
10 ай бұрын
@@moonloop6 hes certainly not undermining it. he just doesnt know that everybody produces in 4-8 bar loops. and hes also referencing tempo.

@@FromTheHipp 100% not undermining Tim or Trap Producers. Perhaps I should have elaborated on my comment...my apologies. His style of production isn't something you usually see from folks producing music in styles like Jazz or Rock...all of which I'm a fan of (I also listen to trap). But it was a comment in reference to tempo, some of his tones and sound design choices. Not common. Not something most people would usually think of doing (outside of rap/trap/pop) but he shows that it clearly works!

@@FromTheHipp one other reference as well is where he mentions in a prior video that he uses Omnisphere for ideas/influences to arpeggiate then transposes that to the guitar. I also think this is brilliant...simple but absolutely brilliant

I just can’t get over the amount of music creativity this guy has. He did once say he doesn’t really understand music theory much before and I refuse to believe 😭
@minnienish

I'm classically trained, and I can guarantee you most great musicians who haven't received formal training have actually picked up on a lot of theory without realizing it, just from years of internalizing it through practice and experience.

I'm a new fan... My buddy turned me on to you guys and I am so impressed. Never known or heard of Polyphia until recently and have purchased most of your music. Cheers and keep up the great work!! 👍
absolutely love the studio and everything in it.
Watching how you work is really interestingTim. Thanks for making these videos. I really enjoy them. I really liked your vocal video where you vocalized your parts. Anyways, hope you read this. Thanks for what you're doing for music. You and Clay and Clay and Scott are all very talented and musical and all of your individual skills really seem to compliment the other members of the band which makes your parts shine even brighter as the blend gets clearer. Really loving the evolution of your sound. See you at a show as soon as I can.
Big fan tim been watching for 3 years now, you are amazing. Love❤
Awesome! Amazing to see what you get to work with to make your awesome music!

im STOKED to see you guys for my first concert
I love how it has the numbers there.
Looks amazing, Tim! Much love bro
See you in Vancouver! Making the trip from Alberta just to see you guys!
the plugins make for a very fluid yet metallic sound. i really like how it came together
Bros got 229 unread messages 💀💀💀
It is nice to see that Tim shares what he uses in order to compose and play the iconic songs
Beautiful setup. Super clean 🤘
love this video king studio is so fweaking dripped
Thank you for this type of videos
That plugin sounds amazing!!!
Just saw them in Tempe, an amazing show!
One tip I have for using the multivoicer, or any archetypes in general - turn your guitar volume knob down to 7-8 and you'll get alot less harsh transients that don't sound good. Even with having your peaks at -6 dB with volume knob all the way up, I've found with single coils it plays alot nicer with it rolled down a bit.
Always clicking immediately on a Tim upload.
It's great to know what you do in your studio and how you do it.
Thank you for this!!

yessss dope i forgot this was dropping! i finally found someone to badger into helping me find my way around ableton when we’re next in norway. can get some fun goodies when i know wtf i’m doing 🥴
Tim Henson is now writing songs that are more "easy" to hear for us-final audience, because he knew we would have never really understood his masterpieces.
I honestly like it better with just your plugin but still a dope different feel with the other plugins

Thanks Tim❤
That "instant lap steel" was sick!

Thanks for sharing your process; hope you'll do a walkthru of your live rig, saw Polyphia last month live in Savannah, amazing show! Valhalla Delay is a powerful delay plugin with many options. I use Valhalla Delay with Blue Cat Audio PatchWork to have 8 x parallel Valhalla delays,; PatchWork has effects and utilities, I add a Pan effect after each delay to get sounds centered, near, mid and hard panned in the stereo field, sounds huge and stays clear and articulate. It's a technique Holdsworth created, but it does much more! Cheers!
Hell yeah Tim tanks for sharing
“The power thing’s got some numbers there”
1:35 So we're not gonna talk about how he casually has an Ableton Push underneath all that? I wanna see Tim do some live looping I hope he's practicing
Looks dope my guy.
I have NO clue what he's talking about, but it sure is interesting 👏🧐
Can't to see you guys in Boston!
Hey Tim, I suggest that you check out live performance software Gig Performer. It's easy to use, no channel strips, your route plugins like you wire your pedals. It will make your rehearsals great and your live sound will stand out.
I met Tim at the Blue Ridge Rock festival after the Polyphia set, such a great dude and an amazing guitar player. Sorry for interrupting your Spahgetti and Meatball’s Tim!
Thank you 😊
I will see you in Raleigh, NC very soon
Can't believe he just spilled his secret sauce for us.

Thanks, Tim, for a great tutorial. I feel like I’m on Stitch.

Curious to see what happens if you route your midi track to a vocal part or a violin part. Sounds dope.
