He's being humble and appealing to a wider audience. The truth is that he knows he has nothing to fear. Thinking practical things look dorky is dorky. Some people probably don't learn this until their 40s.

hey to be really picky, wear your hat how you like but just to let you know, you are wearing it back to front - The Tilley label should be at the back.

I have a Tilly T3 Wanderer hat . I just purchased about 3 weeks ago . I like it so far . But my Tilly logo is not like what you see this gentleman wearing . The one I have , has a small white Tilley tag on the side of the crown ( where the crown meets the brim ). Is this how they are all made now ?? Everything else is the same . It even has the stash pad under the crown ( money or something like that will fit ), or you can store the chin strap in there . ( part of it anyway). I’m just curious to know if I’m wearing it correctly. I think the white Tilley tag should face the left side . ( if I’m looking at you , hat on my head , it would be on my left side ). I think 🤔

@@tubes5150 yep yours is newer and correct the tag would be on your left if you look at the top of the hat the t3 is slightly more pointed at its front.

I just purchased my first Tilley T3 Wanderer hat . I only had for 3 weeks and I like it so far . But my Tilley does not have that patch on the front like yours . The one I received has this tiny white Tilley logo on the side ( where the brim meets the bottom of the crown ). It’s like a Levi’s tag on the pocket of a Jean jacket . Ya know what I mean ? So I’m not sure which side it should be on . Currently, I wear on the left . If I have the hat on , and you are looking at me , the Tilley logo is on MY left . I think that’s the correct way to wear . Just not 100 % on that . Anyway - Seems like this is how they are being made now . Everything else is the same : The tags under the crown - and the place to stow your money or the chin strap . It’s definitely one of the better hats out there and is going to be an excellent companion when I go on those hikes .

Thanks for the review! I own an airflow Tilley that I just have to my wife. Great hat, fits awesome and feels really light. My only flaw is that the flat brim, which cannot be manipulated as much… sits and folds my ears down. I’m not a fan of tucking my ears in a hat either. I just bought the hat at an outdoors store without actually taking into consideration my actual head size. My question now, I can see that it doesn’t squish or fold your ears down, is that because you don’t wear your hat fully on your head or is the brim curve over your ears? (That’s what I’m looking for) Please let me know, I really like the style of this Tilley.

I feel like it curves to fit nicely. I don’t feel like I’m doing any special adjustment to make it fit over my ears. Or maybe I have tiny ears :)

has the colour faded? you said this is the olive in another comment, but it looks grey to me

I also have some Tilley hats, the airflow amoungst other, and that one is great for summer. I am also thinking of the T3, which colour is yours? The olive colour ?.

Yes, this is the olive color. I may need to look at some of the lighter models for summer.

i have the same hat. I mean you can wear it however you want but if I remember correctly... logo?label? size is the back.

Maybe if I weren't concerned about looking 'dorky' back in my hiking days, I wouldn't be dealing with cancer on the scalp.

might be a dumb question but im gonna ask... is there front and back or wear it either? mine doesnt have the small emblem on hat?

Not a dumb question, many people wear it backwards! If you can read the label on the inside of the hat right side up as you put it on your head, you are putting it on right!

Look for the seam in the headband. It goes in the back.

It’s still holding up great, but I might look at the lighter version with more ventilation more appropriate for the hot dry Colorado summers.

Had 7 3/4 head circumference, and i took 7 3/4 . Looks like you take also you head circumference...tilleys say you should choose one size bigger but for me than its to loose on my head

I guess it's all opinion. I'm 32, have the same hat and love it for camping, travel and heading out for photography sessions. Your profile shot doesn't scream "fucking cool hat wearing guy" either, so why not just avoid throwing stones in the first place?

I'm a traveller in my early 40s and I swear by this hat. Keeps the sun and rain off and this is suited for travel in tropical and arid countries. The gentleman gave an excellent review. You care too much what others think.
