Throw BETTER after this video | Disc Golf Basics

Спорт

Hey!
So I, a disc golf beginner, threw 100 discs (Rivers) to see what would happen. Then Tomas Ekström tought me how to throw. Then I threw 100 discs again. See what happened in the video :).

@@scubaman2003 I think thats how most of us start out. The first few times playing are gonna be rough. Most first timers throw the disc way too high in the air, causing it to break way left and crash to the ground. I've been there and honestly I still have the occasional throw where the disc comes our of my hand early and it gets too much air. Can't get any distance when this happens. It'll get better though and it'll feel good once you get those first couple flat throws that cut through the air and hover at just the right height.

The video helped this 63 year old beginner a LOT. I was getting really frustrated at lack of distance I was getting with my throws. Before viewing this I didn't realize how far off I was in my understanding and execution of some very basic fundamentals. Love the entire series.

I love yalls videos because you guys slow things down so much and explain in detail but also just move through the motions slower. Tomas actually takes his time and does soft throws to explain and show us. As a new player these videos are so beneficial. All these other pro players doing tutorials whip the disc so fast I can't follow there movements good enough to actually learn.

I went by myself today to practice since I've only just learned myself that I need to drag it across my chest. And I threw it much farther I was feeling really accomplished! I had a lot of privacy except for one point, I was surrounded by two groups of people to my left and right. I felt like everyone was watching me as I went to throw my two discs. One disc went sharp right and the other sharp left -_- It was so embarrassing. They were beyond bad shots and I was like WHY because I've been shooting accurately all day! I have such terrible stage fright. Tis a curse.

REALLY great video. Love the concept of watching a brand new player of the game slowly refine their throwing techniques with pro disc golfers assisting like this. I can foresee in the future episodes dialing in back hand more then moving to various shot angles, hyzer anhyzer shots. Putting. Forehands all the way to scramble shots like grenades and thumbers etc. Maybe some episodes on disk selection and disc stabilities. Keep in up. Subscribed.

having played for about a year now and the best part about this is seeing the results, just did some throws after a round at my local course today to practice my drives and got one out 122m (400) with an opto ballista and got my Halo Tern out 116m (380)... Starting to feel like I'm getting good distance, now I just wanna keep working on my form to get more consistency and better accuracy... Focus now is really just to slow things down, used to be I tried having a fast run-up in order to keep that momentum going through the throw, problem was I ended up struggling with controlling my release angles etc. Now I'm trying to just have a slow run up really focusing on getting my reach back and then just exploding through which ultimately has led to better angles and more distance on average. Feel like I can consistently get out past 100m on my drives now which feels great...

You could move to a better climate. Then you could play in the winter. Today is 1/28 and it's going to be 78 outside my home today. 😁

You can play in the winter, just put a string on the disc so you can find it in the snow.👍

Seeing him trying and failing at theowing the first couple times is reassuring to see. It shows the viewers, myself included, that trying and failing is just part of the process of succeeding and helps you improve faster.

Love all this info. Just went disc golfing today for the first time and I got the power but no coordination. Lol. This will help. Thanks. Plus I love that you explain in English so my friends can understand.
