Throw BETTER forehands after this video | Disc Golf Basics

Спорт

Hey guys!
Me and Johannes want you to throw BETTER forehands after this video. As a complete beginner there was many basics things I learned from Johannes and his 25 years of playing disc golf. Forehand has been requested by many of you and in this video I try to improve mine. I think I´ve tried one forehand throw in my life prior to this.
Let me know if it helped you or if we missed something. Have a nice day 😀 /Jonathan

I love that there is an actual beginner in these videos. There are too many videos telling beginners what to do and not to do from someone who already plays perfectly. However, it's far more effective to see someone who is just learning trying out techniques and practices. I can completely relate to the mistakes and the "a-ha!" moments as well. You're very appreciated for making these videos and for helping us all!

What helped me develop my forehand was to go to my favorite local course and throw every shot forehand, except my putt. Don’t keep score. Just keep throwing until you find the discs that work for you. Keep the elbow close to your body and flick the wrist, and follow through.

Ikr! Been a social level player a few years. Happy that can play par level. For grins started watching these videos and putting the lessons into play. A few strokes per round better now. The fun level increased too. For simple reason that a few holes that I played for par now play to at least have a look/putting second circle.

Big Jerm gives a tip in a Brodie video to open your front foot up parallel with your shot. This guy says more of a 45deg thing, but he’s capping hip power and risking a knee injury if he REALLY connects hips into the flick. No knock on the video; it’s great for beginners. But if you want power, open up the foot. I max flick 400. Jerm’s tip has put a smoothness into my shots I’ve never felt before. Also my back foot kicks out like a bowler does. Helps to stabilize my follow through. Stay low. Condense your frame. It helps to maintain balance when you explode. ✌🏼

Paul Ulibarri has a great episode of "Down the Fairway" on how to learn how to flick the disc properly. Use a putter and forehand the disc no more than 20 feet but spin it as much as possible. I call it the helicopter drill. If you do the drill correctly the disc will almost float in the air like a helicopter.

I’ve only been playing disc golf for a short time, but never dedicated the time to learn a forehand. After watching this video I’m ready to add it to my repertoire! Well-produced and great tips. 👍

These are very good tips. I don't watch these for knowledge, purely for entertainment. I'm no pro by any means, but know the little things my game needs. For a beginner all your videos are great. Really shows how difficult it is when you're first starting out. Your sense of humor and editing crack me up man. Glad you found a wonderful game. Can't wait for the day you beat Tomas! I'm teaching a 16 year old kid the game right now and it's a blast. He has a canon for an arm, so because on one hole he out drove me with a forehand he thought we should finally really keep score. He was sad to find out there was still much to learn (whooped him). But seeing things click and make sense to him is great. The first time someone throws a clean hyzer flip or flex anny that goes where they intend it to go seems to be the moment they fall in love with the game. Something about watching a disc bend and move like that, and planning it that way through some trees just works. Keep it up my man!

Thank you for this! I feel like I've got the backhand down somewhat, but my forehand is dropping about 20 feet in front of me. This is way better explained than how it was explained to me previously!

FH driving is awesome. I casually outdrive my BH and don't have to worry about my footwork. Finally seeing the discs turn how they are supoosed to feels so good.

A buddy and me started at the same time about two years ago and we are equals on backhand and have just begun training forehands. He is a natural on forehands and I'm really jealous since I have had a hard time learning it. These kind of videos are so helpful and I'm gradually getting better, found some good tips that I´m eager to try out.

@@Latitude64 I don't know if you've done a video on how to keep the disc stable, flying straight, not curving to the right or to the left.
