I used to visit an aunt in Oklahoma when I was a little girl and she would take me to Prairie Dog Park. I loved watching them play and interact with one another. They were adorable! Even though they are not meant to be pets, sometimes they do need to be rescued. These little munchkins have a wonderful loving and caring home. Btw, YAY that Cuddle Buddies has almost 100K followers. Love this channel!💖

I actually watched a really informative documentary about Prairie Dogs and their behaviour in the wild. The actually have a very complex language structure to warn and inform their neighbours of predators, what type, how many. Things like that. They are really amazing little creatures. ❤

The legend of Biggerton Ouncerton sadly passed away for real this time just a few days ago. There has been an incredible outpouring of love and appreciation celebrating his incredible life. On a personal note he saved my entire family a couple years ago in a flooding incident. He will be missed like no other.

The maths in the title had me a bit confused - I counted either 2 or 4, depending on whether you take the stories separately or together...? 😆 But still really fun to watch! Their vocalisations are so vivacious, their naps so adorable, & their interactions with so many other rather startled animals hilarious! Theyre so precious. I knew nothing about prairie dogs, until a couple months ago, when I found Poppy and Paxton. I think prairie dogs are the most adorable animals. I understand that they aren't meant to be pets, but they look so happy in their homes. Thank you for saving these amazing babies. I am a huge animal lover. Lol I want one, but I know better. I will enjoy them on KZread

Thanks for telling people to do their research before adopting ANYTHING - not just exotics, whether breed of dog, cat, etc., because so many people don’t and pets end up in terrible situations or in shelters! And may I add, once you’ve done your research, PLEASE be honest with yourself about whether or not you can dedicate the time and resources needed! AND think of your future. Acquiring a pet should be considered an addition to the family and should be a lifetime commitment! Also, and very important, whenever possible, adopt, don’t shop! The millions of unwanted pets euthanized every year will thank you!

It's really good advice, even for the non-exotics like cats & dogs! People so often seem to go in judging just on aesthetics &/or "cute" factor, or because they want companionship, and more or less assuming all cats/dogs are essentially interchangeable? Failing to do that important research first on what special traits & needs a particular breed or age of animal may typically have, esp. when it comes to things like exercise, energy levels, training, and diet, then of course contributes significantly to the number of animals later surrendered to shelters... or dumped/abandoned, in the most awful instances. I really appreciate the ongoing efforts of channels like this one, Geobeats and Girl With the Dogs to educate & to encourage responsible pet parenting!

My God, how wonderful, beautiful and precious are the works of your Hands. How can ANYONE for one moment NOT believe EVERY sentient animal has a soul and is destined for Heaven?

I'd never keep them as pets, but they are sweet creatures. I had the opportunity to work around some at the zoo. They are very affectionate.

I've been living with prairie dogs since 1997 (a childhood dream) and it's true that prairie dogs need care, love and living with other prairie dogs. From the age of 2years, the male becomes a real adult and enters a rutting period at fall when he becomes extremely aggressive and impossible to handle until late February-mid March (birth of the babies). From one day to the next, a male becomes a true darling. It's a difficult period, but an important one if you want to admire beautiful puppies. I separate the males from the females with babies for almost 2 months, and then the prairie dog dad meets his babies and teaches them to fight. It's fun to watch, as the father pretends to be overpowered by the babies. Conclusion: having prairie dogs isn't easy, but if you really love them, you shouldn't castrate the males to take away part of their identity.

I recently got a male who was about to turn 12. I'm going to stop writing, as I could talk about them for hours. They are one of my great passions.😃

My heart goes out to you for the amazing effort you have put into these wonderful examples of the best of the and most lovely species. My heart has been broken since my little black Bombay pussycat Jinx passed away, she had been attacked and had very serious injuries and the vets were amazed as she just sat there perfectly still and let them do their work like an informed person knowing they were doing their job. I can never repay the excellence and love veterinary emergency services and wildlife staff give to animals. I was so very proud of my daughter when she became an Ambo for the RSPCA here in Brisbane Australia.
