She doesn't seem like she could ever be released into the wild with all of the human imprinting that she has. I think shes enjoying her life right now

When she’s older she will be demoralized, unable to fend for herself in the wild, and won’t survive.

Beavers live in familial units in their dams so it’s possible she could still. They are pretty good at adapting to the wild compared to other human raised animals.

They can also be a pretty big nuisance, at least they are where I live. There are plenty of beaver trappers in business, let's just say that. A house i was building on a lake had 5 birch trees taken down in the front yard over the course of a week. They probably took them down and realized they couldn't move them or they were too far from the dam. Another lakeside job had a trapper come twice to remove beavers. Very cool animals, but a lot of destruction and obstruction. Lol

cute but the amount of trees they take down each year is actually insane. They effect the environment around them more than any other creature behind humans. I'm not even saying it's a bad thing, it's just crazy.

Tulip is beyond cute but I am not so sure its a good idea for her to be set back in the wild now that she has been taken care of by humans .

I hope you kept her safe she has a mother bond with you.😊💞

@@HerMajesty1 Doing some research would tell you they are good for the ecosystem. Maybe plant trees that beavers don't like, or build a fence around the trees to keep them out.

I had no idea how realistic the groundhog in Caddyshack looks until I saw this guy's face.

Just amazing that a beaver would trust a human...lucky you.

I really can't find the words to say how insanely adorable Tulip is, but my goodness, she's the Cutest Baby ever...lol! Those little noises, her grooming, swimming...I'd never be able to get anything done, and I don't think I could release her, even though it's in her best interest, so I'm soo grateful for Angels, like her adoptive Mama! ❤💋

If Tulip has been raised and fed by humans and has not been socialized with other beavers and has not learned to forage for food on her own, how can you release her back to the wild?

She is being raised with other beavers, and by a rehabber who has had many years of successful rescues and releases. Dr Holley is good at what she does.

I'd say maybe to a sanctuary but I would think the wild is much too risky, but that's me

She said that was her goal, but it's not necessarily a given yet. It's also not like she's going to be released in a couple of months as baby beavers need to be kept and cared for for 2 years. Dr. Holley will obviously first see where Tulip is at by that point before she makes any decisions. 😊

Wishing the beaver a great life; crossing my fingers.

The little noises she makes are so sweet. I had seen a documentary about another rehabbed Beaver 🦫 His name was JB, for Justin Beaver. He became an ambassador animal at his rehab. They have children of all ages come in to learn all about the Beaver. They bring JB in as a form of show and tell. Pretty cool. ❤

JB died two years ago this month. He caught a rapid bacterial infection called Rodent Bloat. There was nothing that could be done and he died within a few hours. 😢

That's cute. The old IMAX documentary called 'Beavers' from 1988 is still one of my favorite documentaries. They are very fascinating [and destructive] creatures.

The kind of video I could watch for hours.

Yeah, I have some doubts to be honest, unless they are really methodical in doing things, like teaching her how to find her own food in the wild or how to build a home or hide from predators. All things she would've learned from her family in normal circumstances.

I love all animals as well but “what they do” entails more than surface value. Perfect example… we have a three acre small lake as the primary source of water for 100+ cows. Over time, beavers cut down every single tree around it which allows silt to run in. After they ate all the trees, they started burrowing tunnels through the dam to drain it. Thousands of dollars in damage but it’s what they do right?
