How long do you estimate crystal will survive being paralyzed and being in captivity? Will she survive longer than a wild raccoon in the wild? Thanks for your work!

@@user-zm8mv7mv2u If you would like my opinion, I couldn't really put an estimate on how long but yes, I definitely think that Crystal will survive longer than a raccoon in the wild, even being sadly paralyzed as it is very clear in this video that she is being properly cared for and by people who know about raccoons and what they need. Also, many animals in good zoos and captivity often live longer than their counterparts in the wild as they are fed the right amount of nutritious food daily, have veterinary care when they need it and have no potential predators (including cruel humans) who could attack them, all things which wild animals sadly don't have the luxury of.

i think Twos and Tails might be spelled wrong unless they do rescue as well as Tow trucks. lol. I would have thought it would be spelled Toes & Tails instead of Tows and Tails. Beautiful people though for protecting the vulnerable beings of our planet.

@@absoluteterror9098one of my cat makes those. I don’t know if it’s common in cats. I have never heard the chirps Noodles do when he is happy in any other cat (he is a tabby so nothing exotic)

I had a pet raccoon when I was a child. Raccoons will purr, chitter, whine, cry, snort, growl & scream. Their mating call sounds like a screech owl, can be heard from a long distance. I had my raccoon neutered so he wouldn't have to suffer through sexual desire unfulfilled. The veterinarian said it was the only raccoon he had ever neutered or spayed.

Thank goodness Crystal has a safe home with people who know how to care for her and give her a good life even though she can’t walk.

Adorable beyond words! I had the pleasure of having a 3 day old tree fox squirrel left outside my front door. The family's nest fell out of a palm tree in a southern Cal storm. Both babies fell out as the nest tumbled to the ground. The baby who landed on the grass was scooped back up, as it was squeaking for its mother. The other baby landed on the sidewalk and was unconscious, and therefore abandoned by the mother, which is their instinct to do (to conserve resources for babies that will survive). Once abandoned, the mother will never take her back. I had a great Vet who educated me on the subject. He told me she'll recover 100%, so here's a formula for a diet & an eyedropper. Every 2-3 hrs she'll let you know she's hungry. Once her eyes opened she imprinted me as her mother. She lived in my shirt pockets until she outgrew them. She loved the warm connection & my scent. She lived for 12 yrs., came when I called her, laid on my thigh as we watched TV. She went everywhere I did, no leash! She loved riding in the car. You can imagine the stories about shocked drivers trying to tell me there's a squirrel in my car! For comparison, my Vet said they'd live about 5-7 yrs in the wild b/c of predators. He was shocked she lived till 12. She never bit anyone, never needed any vaccine b/c tree squirrels live in trees...no fleas. I worked w/ kids and you can imagine how much fun they had w/ my little friend that never knew she was a squirrel.

In Gods world, we are all friends. Thank you for giving Chrystal the love and attention she deserves. All of you are good people. Thank you, thank you thank you.

Some people literally think its okay to shoot them. Just for sport or entertainment. Some folks have dark souls. 😔

@@theodorusbodaar1370 You really should read about how important hunting is to animal conservancy...deer would be starving to death otherwise, and Africa would not get the resource revenue to support the wild animal conservancy that the industry brings...poachers would have made several species, including elephants, rhinoceroses, and lions extinct without the hunters...

They both are beautiful gorgeous animals.

Toumba has the patient of a saint. He is the best big brother for Crystal. 🥰

The raccoon is my spirit animal. I can’t count the number of times I’ve gone fishing and they have swam out to my kayak to greet me. A few times while hunting, (not for raccons LOL) I’ve had raccoons climb out of a tree to come check me out. I’ve had quite a few other encounters with them that most people don’t experience. We have a strange spiritual connection. Your video makes me happy. Thanks for taking care of her. ❤

I have the same thing with cats, although I only have one family dog. Stray Cats follow me, and let me pet them. They seem to purr whenever they see me.

I had a pet racoon (Ty) when I was a teenager. He was the best little guy imaginable. I raised him from about 8 weeks and he was gentle, playful and very intelligent. So nice to see Crystal enjoying a nice life because of your caring kindness.

Racoons are very social and will bond with people and animals they are around.

I’m a huge cat & dog lover fanatic but since I was a kid I’ve always loved our little furry pals like rabbits, chipmunks, squirrels, hedgehogs, otters, beavers & racoons. Toumba & Crystal are an adorable pair & glad they have each other. I pretend I’m a hard ass but am the biggest softie. I can’t go to the shelter without wanting to take everyone home so I can’t foster - I get too attached. I’m so thankful that there are so many sanctuaries & rehab places that have amazing people helping & nurturing animals. The modern world seems so dour & awful but I regain hope from stories like this knowing there are amazing people out there advocating & caring for animals. Animal lovers are the best of humanity. Thanks for caring for this adorable raccoon & giving Toumba a cute little sister.🫡🙂👍

High five👋 Although exotic animals like raccoons are fascinating, we hope people understand that they are not pets and have to either live in the wild or be taken care of by professionals, if they can't be released.

Yet there are so many that actually call them pests, along with possums, squirrels and mice.... they actually are killed like bugs. It's so sad. We must stop this cruelty and stupidity. All animals are worthy of life and living their best lives, not just human animals. Put a stop to the specism, we are all equal. This is a heartwarming and wonderful true story. Thank you and enjoy your amazing family!

@sleepingwithcats5121; You are SOMEWHAT right, and that is the WHOLE POINT!! PEOPLE, across the board, see ONLY their side as RIGHT. I CAN tell you, FROM EXPERIENCE, that there is different sides to debate. I can tell you that, in one case, 4 kits were rescued, after their mother was ran over on highway, that one kit died soon after, one was raised for six months, before it escaped back to wild, one for 1 yr, back to wild, and one stayed w/ rescuer for 17 yrs, before returning to wild. They are wild animals, and UNPREDICTABLE. On the other hand, I have seen them, in the wild, very frequently for 50+ years, and they are VERY VICIOUS @ times, often HUGE nuisanses(spelling?) VERY capable of killing dogs/cats(PETS), prone to carrying rabies/disease, breed prolifically, and must be limited/controlled in number( hunting provides best success). My advice: MOTHER NATURE has got this. Leave sanctimonious out of it.
