If it was at night then obviously they haven't seen marks on the car. They were shooting form drone seeing through noctovisor probably. They assumed a car moving at night is hamas which was huge mistake. They even have friendly fires where israeli soldiers were killing eachother so yes - mistakes happen at war. With precision guided weapons specifically tracking from the air the vehicles clearly marked to be seen from the air as "World Central Kitchen" along a route the IDF knew they were taking at a time they were taking it, where the targeting of the vehicles could NOT have worked without being able to clearly identify them as "World Central Kitchen". The mistake was allowing the outside world know about it.

I used to support Israel, Until I learned about the appalling things they do, like the decades of 'Forceable Transfers' (forced evictions) that the UN say is a breach of international law, and clearly are immoral. Also Israel's response is 25 x worse than Oct 7. as 25 times more dead. And we thought Oct 7 was bad. But Israel have gone so far beyond overkill. You're right. Israel has the face recognition technology cameras fixed all over the security wall with Gaza to clearly identify each and every Gazan and track their movements.
