The Israelis lie every time they release a statement or take part in an interview. Sometimes it is transparent, at others it takes a couple of days. Where they have denied access to International Investigation teams and forensic teams, then destroyed crucial evidence, or not gathered any (claiming dead people had been raped without testing for semen, for example when no other evidence was offered), it can take a few weeks to prove their lies, as it did with the Flour Massacre. Hundreds of civilian families killed by Israeli tanks and sniper fire, as well as by trucks fleeing after Israeli snipers shotat, or wounded, the drivers and in the panic which ensued. Israel claimed Hamas stormed the trucks and shot the drivers and Israeli tanks only fired above their heads after the first deaths. Satellite imagery and analysis, phone footage and forensic examination of the injuries and bullets and shell fragments proved IDF snipers fired before anyone reached the trucks, then tanks fired into the crowd and ran into many, causing all the injuries either directly or because of the ensuing panic as people tried to flee the shells and sniper fire.

Women dying in childbirth because birthing kits were banned from the Oxfam Aid trucks. An Aid warehouse full of nappies and baby formula shelled and eight staff killed. Water testing kits and stand taps in the Oxfam trucks were also refused entry . Younger children have, of course, been the first to die of starvation. The IDF have deliberately targeted children under eight and as young as three with sniper fire, often giving them wounds which will be fatal, eg head wounds, but don't kill for hours, to lure out would-be rescuers to be shot, or ambulances to be blown up.One family contacted the IDF to explain they couldn't evacuate their home in Khan Younis without help, because their youngest, aged five, had Cerebral Palsy. When the IDF came to the door, the father went to greet them. They shot him dead, then the mother in front of the three under nines, chased them into a small room and threw a grenade in after them, injuring all three. It's easier when you are on the outside but have you ever tried, even for once, put yourself in their shoes, imagine you were born in that part of the world, your family had their houses there and some land. In the utopic scenario that they accepted all very well and were living their lives peacefully I have a very very hard time to imagine that all would be good. Many many people in Israel feel that the entire area belongs to them so even if the palestinian were quiet with their lives, the whole area would be israel by now and possibly vice versa, if the palestinians had the chance to cease the whole area back they would do so.

I don't know the situation elsewhere, but in the US and the UK the Israel-backed Colleges, who are taking a hardline on their brightest students and ludicrously calling them antisemitic for protesting a genocide against a Semite people, do not deserve such engaged, intelligent, moral students. The students are clearly far better-informed than most College Board members on History, Law and Human Rights. On Oct 8th, Hamas organized a propaganda program aimed at western college students. Hamas knew exactly what they were doing. These college students should be ashamed of themselves. Hamas will go after them too.

Notice the 10k unidentified dead among the 34k claimed. So 24k identified dead, 15k of which are hamas fighters (a 16 years old with an RPG doesnt count as a child). This is the lowest civilian death rate out of any modern conflict.

I never believed Hamas numbers.

24,000 civilians dead in seven months of war, is not genocide or anything close to it. It equates to about 0.2 percent of 1 percent of the Gaza population, which is around 2.8 million. The death toll in Gaza, is dwarfed by the wars in Syria, Yemen and the Sudan. Of course all civilians killed is horrible… but war is brutal and this is a war.

L post is spot on. Everything albo does is an act of dividing the nation and creates a situation where those who do believe in racist values gain a voice. Everything that has been achieved in this country towards reconciliation was undone by him with the voice and now he has laid down his support for a terrorist regime. Nevermind the fact that the UN ignored protocol by forcing this vote without going through the UN security council who needs to endorse any membership state before the general assembly can vote on it. The reason being that it never would have passed through for many reasons. The biggest being the veto rights of the 5 permanent members of the UN security council. If you knew anything at all about this you wouldn't swallow the line pedaled by Sky and Fox. Surely by now you must know that the number of deaths has not been reduced AT ALL. In fact, they've been increased sllightly. The change was to recognise only those victimes that have been fully identified. All those other victims are still dead bodies, they just haven't been fully identified yet. Hardly surprising, given the circumstances. Before you embarrass yourself in public again by jumping on to another Sky News headline, take the trouble to read sources doing serious journalism. You'd be surprised what you may learn.

As Colonizers I would imagine most Australians would not want to give back any land they have stolen from any indigenous people, so to be upset about voting for a 2 state solution is not surprising.

"Hate and compassion". Most Arabs just hate Jews, this hate has been there for decades, even centuries (it's even in their Quran). The stronger Israel gets, the stronger the hate as it'll be harder to get rid of them. That's what drives one group of protestors or hate marchers as you rightly pointed out. The other group are driven by "compassion" for the suffering and plight of the seemingly "oppressed " Palestinians. This compassion is quickly turned into hate for the one who is seen as inflicting the suffering, in this case, the Jews/Israelis. Hamas knows this. Why do you think there's loads of videos of children suffering/dying on social media? Why do you think Palestinian influencers (and anyone with a phone camera) have made it their mission to capture these sad footages and post them on social media. The more compassion they get get from the West, the most Jew-haters they create.

Forget that Palestinians have had many opportunities for a "two state solution", which they rejected - because it's not about land. Forget that Gaza was in fact, a "pilot for a state", as Israel did everything possible to keep deluding itself peace can indeed prevail, paying dearly and unprecedently. Forget that Australia has no business in this conflict, and the current government certainly did NOTHING but encourage terrorists, vilify Israel and systematically destroy all diplomatic ties with it. Let's just focus on the TIMING: why now? Why is it so urgent to call for a reward for terrorism, when the war is still in progress, when the hostages are still in dungeons? That's a very good question. Long term support for a two state solution is totally irrelevant to this U.N.resolutiom. Leaving aside the fact that Hamas don't want a two state solution, this resolution constitutes recognition of - something - boundaries and constitution not specified - AS the state of Palestine. What's that?

Ah, I think I see your misunderstanding - the UN resolution refers to Palestine, not Hamas. Your comment has got me confused though, I must say. A 2 state solution would involve Palestine being recognized as a state. If Israel have been negotiating in good faith for a 2 state solution, then why are they so upset about State-2 in the equation being recognised as a state? Do they want a 1.5 state solution?

That regime is a true representative of the people, and they willingly send their children to be indoctrinated as Shahidi, they eagerly participated in the massacre, and enthusiastically stash weapons and tunnels in their homes, not to mention keeping hostages. If you know your history, you will recall Israel has always been willing to go to extremes for any kind of peace agreement - including a preposterous "two state solution". The Arabs always refused.
