Lyrics
And I thought I was only dreaming, yeah
I kissed you then, then once again
You said, you would come and dance with me
Dance with me, across the sea
And we could feel the motion of a thousand dreams
Doctor, doctor, can't you see, I'm burning, burning?
Oh, doctor, doctor, is this love, I'm feeling?
Ships at night give such delight
We all leave before the morning light
Please don't go, no please don't go
'Cause I don't want to stay here on my own
Oh Oh
Doctor, doctor, can't you see, I'm burning, burning?
Oh, doctor, doctor, is this love, I'm feeling?
Doctor, doctor, can't you see, I'm burning, burning?
Oh, doctor, doctor, is this love, I'm feeling?
Fever breathe your love on me
(Breathe your love)
Take away my name
(Take away)
Fever lay your hands on me
(Breathe your love)
Never be the same
Oh Oh
Doctor, doctor, can't you see, I'm burning, burning?
Oh, doctor, doctor, is this love, I'm feeling?

Sorry for your loss. I don't think I realized how much music can affect you in so many ways. I listen to this song and it transports me back to a time when friends and family were still alive. I picture my friend and I driving around in his 73 Challenger, windows rolled down, blasting this song on the radio through the Kraco coaxials, singing out loud. He's been gone for 6 years now and there isn't a day that goes by where I don't think of something that reminds me of him. Really good friends are hard to come by and I know that I will never have a friend like that again. I am thankful for things like this song that remind me and give me that small moment of happiness. Today is Thanksgiving. Hope you are smiling today sir.

My Older Sister is 51 as well, and I always remind her that she was born in 1 of the Best eras for Music, the earlier 70's had better quality RocknRoll and actual hits. Although, I'd take anything in the later 70's compared to the garbage from the late 90's and beyond. I'd also go back to the 80's in a real hurry as well. 😎🌴🎶👍🏻

The late 80s was not very good, in my opinion. 1989 especially was pretty bad. There were a few exceptions, such as "Like a Prayer" and "Buffalo Stance" but overall fairly uninspiring. Life was better when there were more Brits (like the Thompson Twins) on the charts.

In some strange way, in the 80s and early 90s we were living on the crest of a wave. We're on the other side of it now looking back and realizing how amazing it really was. The "future" was yesterday.

Woke up to this tune several mornings in boarding school; the year of my Leaving Cert; 1984. School was a drag, and I found it difficult - especially that year, but the music helped me through. Superb hits that year by Howard Jones, Alison Moyet, Michael Jackson, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, China Crisis, Tears for Fears - I could go on, but, approaching 57 this year, I feel so blessed to have been a teenager in the 1980's. Great memories with nothing but a basic Toshiba radio-cassette recorder and a Raleigh Stratos racing bike to pass my summer holidays by! Innocent times..

I was convinced this would hit #1 when it entered at #18 and climbed into the top 5 the following week. 'Relax' by Frankie goes to Hollywood,'Radio Ga-ga' by Queen and Nena's '99 red balloons' all prevented it from going further than #3 -the charts were choc-full of brilliance back then.
