It's like an old chain gang "spiritual". Didn't get any of it as a 14 yr old fan of TTT, I was just carried and enamoured by the sound n vibe.....and now, as a jaded and ageing anarchist and activist I can appreciate the rallying cry of this song! Fuxkin fantastic........2024 WTF IS RISING UP?!

I hear you loud & clear, but ill tell you what warms me no end - when I see 16 yr olds commenting how lucky us old timers are to have lived in the days of this material - & it happens A LOT on you tube, They also go onto say they have no interest in the music of their generation. The early - mid 80s was more a place than it was a time - & we were right there!

@daynasmum529 seems like music snobbery from people who were around in the 80s has rubbed off too... My son loves the music of my era, but he also has a lot of music of his own generation that he likes - and having listened to some of his favourites of the last decade or so, I've realised that some of this generation's music is actually very good, and that there are still a lot of genuine talents about. If you naively dismiss an entire era, you lose out, and miss a lot stuff that you'd like if you gave it a chance (as I did)...

This song always reminds me of attending my first fitba match, a Scottish cup semifinal in Edinburgh v Dundee. I was in complete awe at the noise & occasion when this song was played before kick-off. Aberdeen won the game then went on to beat Celtic in the final. A happy memory right up there we the best of em.

Being born in 1977, so ultimately, a child of the 80s. I can honestly remember thinking how shit the music was, but man, I was so wrong! Admittedly, I like all sorts from OG 80s hip hop - Belgian Techno, but I take it all back. I mean, what the f*** did I know? And if you had said, "Here is 40 years in the future?" I'd have said, "Forget you sucka! I'm staying put in the 80s."
