    There is no TEAM in I. That's a problem. They have no I's. Good secondary options but no go to guy. Bridges is ok, Cam Thomas is good, Claxton is good. Other players, not so much. On a good day they can hang until the 3rd quarter. After that, it's Say goodnight Gracie.

    I think the play in has warped team expectations in the wrong way. It used to be that the 8-11 seeds were the NBA's no man's land and for veteran teams (Lakers, Warriors, Bulls) a signal to blow it up and rebuild, and for young teams a stepping stone to build on. Teams like the Nets and Hawks should be looking to shop their parts for picks.

  • @EbonySeraphim
    @EbonySeraphim2 ай бұрын

    Your buried the lead about 10:30 in - Ben Simmons is the highest paid Nets player. That’s what’s wrong with the team and they can’t realistically do anything until that’s fixed. I assume his presence on the team alone also makes trade look different. Mikhail Bridges might be using his time as a #1 option to increase his trade value / salary. He’s in a great spot not taking substantial media pressure to be a super star carry, but meanwhile growing his worth. Not all NBA players care all that much to become champions every year they play.

    Sorry had to stop at the terribly casual BK take. Saying that KD and Kyrie team wouldnt have worked is so wrong that i cant take anything you say about hoops seriously. If you simply cant look at reality and make objective observations then what is the point of making this kind of content They were literally a big toe away from the finals. BK was ROLLING before Kyrie asked fro a trade which had everything to do with the organization screwing him then roasting him in public King Kyrie has the blood of royalty in his veins and the Sheet Heads in New York hate that they couldnt control him. The data is out on those vaccines bro all BK had to do was let him freakin play and both KD and Kyrie would still be there

    You seem to have a hard time listening. I said AT THE TIME all of the trade requests were being demanded, they realized this wasn’t going to work and aborted the Big 3. Big toe or not, they were not as good as you’re making them out to be

  • @urbaindelva7869

    @urbaindelva7869

    They were NOT "a big toe away from the Finals." They were a big toe away from the CONFERENCE Finals, which they would've walked into at less than 100% due to both Harden and Kyrie being hurt. KD said himself after the Bucks series that he was not gonna be able to carry them to the Finals. Kyrie's refusal to be vaccinated was not the problem, the effect it had on the team was the problem. The organization did not "screw him over and roast him in public." They simply refused to give him the contract he wanted because of that whole situation, which led to him asking for a trade. Kyrie is not the villain, but he's not blameless. BK was rolling before the trade requests, but they were an ECF team at best, second round exit at worst. That "Sheet Heads" part speaks for itself, so I'm not gonna touch that one.

  • @Jamellii

    big toe from the ECF and even then they woulda had to face the suns who were one of the best defenses and offenses the nets woulda lost the finals in 6 or 7 games. Ayton woulda dominated, mikal bridges and their 2-ways woulda clamped us and it woulda just been KD vs Booker and James Harden is a known playoff dropper. We woulda gotten to the finals but not won

    Bad front office. People don’t give them enough shit for failing Scary Hours because how people FEEL about “diva” stars. Scary Hours had a chance to survive injures and suspensions if they built the team correctly. Joe Harris was the 4th option on a team that didn’t have depth, a 3&D starter wing nor a defensive/rebounding big at the time. Just because he was a liked guy and for some reason they believed 50% 3pt shooting was sustainable. They were offered Kuzma/KCP in the Spencer trade but took a MLE instead(something they did often). Not to mention Nash when you just got Harden and had MDA. Not moving on from Harris and Spencer to improve the roster was the killer. The Big 3 plus super old or unwanted vets minimums was a dumb decision. An entire era with rebounding not being addressed and then bringing in a bunch of non shooters who literally were all moved by the deadline. Not 1 of year twos free agents made it pass the deadline.

    Yes, the Nets big three of KD, Kyrie, and Harden didn’t work out anywhere near as anticipated. That being said, it’s kind of shortsighted to say it was a failure. It was much more of a “what if” scenario. After all, those guys only played 16 games together and were 13-3 in those games.

    Sean Marks is patiently waiting for the 2025 off-season. That is when Donovan Mitchell can opt out from his final year of his contract and be a free agent. Can't trade for him now, he and Ben Simmons are on rookie max extension contract. NBA rule doesn't allow teams to have 2 players on the same roster on such contract acquired by trade. At the same time Simmons can opt out too and resign for lesser money. 2026 off-season Trae Young can out out from his final year of his contract too. If Sean Marks doesn't want to wait that long he will trade for Young in 2025. Keeping Mikal Bridges now is to team up with them later, should they sign for the Nets.

    I think all they need is a good coach. If they can get Mike Budenholzer as their coach I think they can have at least 50 wins with the current roster. The 2004 pistons were similarly constructed in the sense they didn’t have a true superstar but had a bunch of really good and skills players and I think this team is more talented than that one was. If any coach can get this team to achieve good things it would be him. I mean he got that Hawks team to 60 wins and I don’t think any other coach would’ve been able to pull it off
